Summer happens this coming month. Say what. I feel like it was just yesterday that Justin Timberlake’s face from his N*Sync days graced this lil’ corner of the internet, and it’s already JUNE tomorrow. HOW. I mean, I know how, but GEEZUM. So, celebrating per usual, with links + things I love, and more good stuff thrown in the mix, too.
Every month I feel this lil’ series expanding, mainly cos I keep finding goodies that I think you guys would find fun/helpful/interesting/valuable. So what was once just “Links I Love” became “8 Links + 5 Things I Love” and now “8 Links + 5 Things I Love (+ a playlist!)”. And this month, we’ve got another addition: some fun stuff on sale in case you’re in the shopping mood. So, it’s basically just a collection of cool sh*t to share at this point – all stuff that I lovelovelove and think you might lovelovelove, too. Maybe another rename is in order? Ha!
But drop a comment down below with your thoughts, wouldja? What all you like versus don’t with this hodgepodge series of sorts, and whether or not it would be something you’d wanna see more often? A few ideas have been getting tossed around at CUR headquarters (aka my kitchen table right now, #glam), so I’m flexible + reallyreallyreally wanna hear from YOU.
In other news, I hope ya had a great long weekend this Memorial Day remembering every single brave soul who died a hero for this country.

Things I Love:
Mermaid blanket – For all of us who just know that we were mermaids in past lives… 😉 I wanted one of these things for the longest time. It’s the coolest blanket, because it automatically tucks you in! The blanket itself is this long cylindrical piece with a tail at the end (le duh); the front is more fabric than the back so that you have extra blanket to cozy up in, and then the back just is closed up from around the back of your thighs down. I was nervous before buying it since I wasn’t sure what the quality would be like – Lord knows a good blanket need be cozy + soft, NOT scratchy + thin. But I was so pleasantly surprised…it’s soft, cozy, comes in a bajillion color varieties, and is knit really well. And it’s $13, so there’s that. *all the heart eyes*
The Meaning of Marriage – A PHENOMENAL book for married folks and non-married folks alike. One of my best friends from college gave this to J and I as a wedding gift, and I quickly became hooked. She had read it as a single woman to just provide perspective on how to better friendships, as well as future romantic relationships. It’s written by a Christian pastor and his wife, so I’d say it’s definitely best to read if you’re also Christian and/or related to biblical teachings, but I think a lot of the ideas + principles are applicable across the board. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of society’s view on marriage today – sometimes I think it depends waaaay too much on a me-me-me mentality (like, how does person help ME and better ME) instead of focusing on how we are there to give of ourselves FOR another person. And sometimes, society makes it out to be like not-a-big-deal thing, like choosing whether or not to invest in designer shoes is more weighted and significant. That if it “doesn’t work out,” no problem – just call it quits and try again with someone else! I totally disagree with that. Granted, of course every situation is unique + has its own challenges, etc. But what I lovelovelove about this book is the emphasis it puts on learning how to best love + serve your spouse and honor them for the entire duration of your wedding vows: ’til death do us part. This book has really been a game changer for me as a new wife, just in how I think about + treat my hubs and how we can mutually better ourselves and our relationship and keep doing so for, like, ever.
Whipped Lip Mousse liquid lipstick – Y’all know I’ve got a THING for good lippies. I’m a sucker for anything bright + bold, and I feel naked without something colored on my lips. But, I’m ‘NOT sucker for liquid lipstick formulas that just dry out my pucker. Ain’t nobody got time. I *hate* when a liquid lippy is sticky at all, or if it makes me feel like all the moisture was just sucked right out of my lips, or if the formula cakes at all inside all of the little cracks you never even knew you had on your lips. No bueno. THIS FORMULA THO. I got one of these in a PR package one day, and I. am. so. impressed. The formula feels like a thicker, creamier lipgloss to apply, but it dries matte and not sticky or drying at all. A “whipped mousse” really does adequately sum up the formulation here. I have two shades, “Say Hello” and “XOXO” – a darker nude (which I’m wearing here) and a pretty berry (which I wear most often) respectively. They’re $20, which ain’t bad for a good liquid lipstick nowadays, and a free gift comes with every purchase!
Relaxed Silk Shirt – I am SUCH a newfound Everlane fangirl. First off, it’s such a cool company. They’ve got this whole pay-what-you-want pricing model where they tell consumers exactly what the product cost would be sans any markups, and they give you the option to pay only that. Like, how COOL?!? This top tho. It’s the most gorgeous silk, so classy + versatile! I loooooovelovelove that it can be dressed up or down so effortlessly. It looks just as good with distressed jeans and slip on’s as it does tucked into a pencil skirt with pumps for your 9-to-5. 100%, a top like this is an *essential* in every girl’s wardrobe. Hands down. Regardless of occupation, it has its use at some point! Comes in 6 solid colors and 2 prints. I have a size 4, which I got so that it’s a bit of a looser, slouchier fit.
Hanami fragrance by Phlur – …I think I’ve found my signature scent. This is HUGE, yo! I have never been the type to wear just one or two scents. I’m definitely that girl in Bath & Body works smelling every. single. candle. before making a decision, and I like the flexibility of having five fragrances on my perfume tray to choose from on any given day depending on my mood or the occasion. But this scent. The second I smelled it, I was intrigued. It’s different, and something about it is just really captivating and cool. Great description, Erica. Really tho, it’s so hard to describe. It’s notes are fig, white florals, hazelnut, and sandalwood. That’s why it’s hard to describe – imagine all of those super distinct scents meshed up together in a bottle. Ha! I loooovelovelove the smells of all of the above individually, so I think that’s why I’m so into Hanami. It’s light, so not too potent. I’ve found myself reaching for Hanami every day anymore, and I’ve gotten compliments on it every time I’m out with it on – it just smells so stinkin’ cool. Another cool fact…there are a few scents all made by this company, Phlur. On their website, they’ve fleshed out so much detail on each individual scent so that you can really find your perfect match – even so far as including a curated Spotify playlist for each perfume. The company also donates a portion of proceeds to environmental conservation groups.
