Striped dress (under $20!!!! Runs TTS) // Gold Monogram necklace (mine is on a 16″ chain – this was a gift from J and I could not lovelovelove it more. So versatile, so fun, a classic statement! A perfect gift for any bride-to-be, too, with her new initials!) // White studded flats (PERFECT dupes for the Valentino Rockstud flats, but $933 cheaper!!!! I sized up a half size and they’re perfect. I also have these studded heels which are *perfect* dupes for the rockstud heels (and $850+ cheaper), and I am totally obsessed. Would 100% recommend.) // Pink lipstick (Shade is Candy Yum Yum – my favorite poppy pink!)
I’m in actual disbelief that the 4th of friggin’ July is right around the corner. Is this adulting? One minute it’s Christmas, and a hot sec later it’s the middle of summer and you’re just tryna not melt between meetings. I have literally seen back-to-school ads already. Didn’t the kids just get OUT of school? I can’t deal. If ya need me, I’ll be on my unicorn floatie with a mudslide in hand until October.
Really tho, bring on the fireworks. The 4th is obvi such a special national holiday, and being in Philadelphia, I can appreciate it even more – we’ve got some pretty darn historic things that call the City of Brotherly Love home (lookin’ atchu Declaration of Independence).
The second I found this cute lil’ blue and white striped dress, I fell in lovelovelove. It’s perfect for the 4th of July (hello, blue and white stripes), but it’s also just perfect for whenever. Reasons why it rocks:
- It’s adorable. I’m sorry, have you seen it? Does it get any cuter? The stripes, the buttons, the tied-up bow, the front cut-out, the pockets – all the heart eyes.
- It has pockets. IT HAS POCKETS!!!!!!!!!
- Breathable AF. I practically live in breezy dresses this time of year, cos ain’t nobody got time for sweating where ya didn’t even know ya could sweat. There is no worse feeling than droplets dripping down your waistline, so I avoid waistlines altogether and just opt for light, flowy fabrics.
- You don’t need to wear a bra with it. Actually tho. I’m typically the world’s most conservative woman when it comes to avoiding nip-slips, so trust me, this is a big deal. Granted, I’m not exactly endowed in that department, but still. You tie the front pieces yourself, actually, so you can adjust to fit yo’ own boobs. Bless.
- It’s under $20. $19 for a dress this cute? COME ON, PEEPS. #AddToCart
Sometimes ya wanna go all out patriotism. Other times, ya might want a more subtle red-white-and-blue. I lovelovelove the versatility in this dress. When I first found it, I wasn’t at ALL thinking ‘Murica. I just thought “Now that’s a hella cute blue and white striped dress!” But add a red lippy + some red accessories and BAM – 4th of July finest.
Up above, I paired it with a pop of pink and white studded flats and it doesn’t really look patriotic at all – it’s just an adorable option for a summer night out. But swipe out the pink lippy for red + add a red bag? 4th of July festive! Alternatively, instead of white kicks, swap ’em out for a pair of red heels for a dressier look. Also, how cute is this dress with sneakers below?! Am I the only one super into this?
Blue and white Striped dress // Gold Monogram necklace // White Adidas (SO versatile – they work with everything! Pants, shorts, dresses, ya name it. Also comes with different color stripes on the sides (black, gold, floral…) // Red Lipstick (Shade is Ruby Woo – my all-time favorite red. It’s blue-toned, so it makes your teeth look whiter! Universally flattering – one of the lippies I’d recommend hands down be in every gal’s makeup bag.)
If your patriotic wardrobe is currently lacking, mix + matching the right colors can really make all the difference – as simple as that is! Add the right accessories to complete the look – just add sparklers and you’re basically Uncle Sam. 😉 Also, always remember the lip. The lip is make or break, peeps. A good statement lip color can be the missing piece to the entire puzzle. Even without a red bag, Ruby Woo turns this into a festive 4th look justbecause it pops that much.
So, VOILA. Two equally cute looks with the cutest blue and white striped dress, one good for the 4th of July, one good for whenever. Super simple amiright???
Do you have any fun plans for the 4th of July?
