Hello, my name is Erica, and I have a shoe problem. Just ask my husband. 😉 Shoes are just that one thing that always end up in my cart, no matter where we are, no matter the season. Straight up ashamed to admit how many pairs I actually have, but if you’re ever in my neighborhood, stop by and I’ll letcha take a peek into the shoe closet. HA. But in the spirit of “coming up roses,” here’s the positive of a shoe obsession: I know shoes. If you’ve got a big enough sample size, in marketing speak, you’ve got solid data to make trustworthy inferences. So let’s just say that my sample size has got us covered. 😉 Recently I was headed to an event, and I need a pair of cute shoes to stand the test of walking all day long. And I realized…yannno how HARD that is to find?! I didn’t realize how legitimately difficult it is to find legitimately cute shoes that could be worn all day long sans blisters or excruciating pain. Plz tell me I’m not the only one with this struggle? So I figured I’m not alone – and a roundup of the most comfy shoes for work that are also cute was in order.
A note before we dive in – some of these were sent to me over the months by companies, but that in NO way/shape/form influenced which shoes I picked out for this roundup – TBH the companies don’t even know that I’m doing this. Hopefully by now yannno that my opinions are always 100% honest anyways, but figured I should put that disclaimer so you’re not confused by the “c/o” marks (which means “courtesy of”!). 😉
DIVING RIGHT IN…the 6 most comfy shoes for work :
“Endless Wink” flat (c/o) – These gems are amazeballs. First off, how gorgeous is this berry color??? And if a purple-y berry hue ain’t your thing, there are about 9 other colors to choose from (seriously), so you’re good to go. 😉 (They’re also on super sale right now compared to normal price, so #win.) I was sent these this season and immediately fell in lovelovelove, with not only the color, but the overall fit. Ironically, one of my biggest problems with shoes typically is walking right out of them; while some online reviewers apparently had that problem, I never did. They’ve got this nifty little adjustable toggle at the back to tighten/loosen to fit the shape of your foot. A loafer like this is good for multiple seasons – great with a lighter pant in spring, shorts in summertime, thicker denim come fall. Plus, the pop of color makes it look less like your stereotypical “comfort shoe.” These could totally be worn with black pixi pants for work – top with a gorgeous ivory blouse (like my fave from this post) and that’s a fabulous work-appropriate look. And obviously jeans + a tee are another workable pairing, so they run the gamut of versatility. I recommend staying true to size!
Pointed toe bow flat – To be completely honest (per usual), I have no clue how the HECK these are as comfortable as they are. I mean, I feel like the laws of physics should prohibit pointy toed anything from feeling comfy, amiright??? But I’m about to pull the trigger on black, too, cos they feel as good as they look. The pointed-toe look ain’t for all, but personally, I’m digging it on these flats in particular. That giant bow configuration on top makes them feel less like your mom’s work pumps from the 90’s and more like a modern millennial’s take on comfy shoes for work. I was really just floored at the comfortability here, peeps. No one expected it. They’re so easy to dress up, but they’re also a funkier factor in any casual look, too. Plus, they’re under $40!
Day Heel (c/o) – Hands down the comfiest heel I have ever owned, ever. And that’s saying something, since I easily have over 100 pairs of shoes. Backstory of my heel history: I typically can’t wear any pumps that aren’t physically strapped onto my foot somehow. If it’s just a normal slip-in-your-foot-and-go kinda pump, no can do. No matter the sizing, make, brand, I still walk right outta ’em. I’ve even tried ordering pumps a half size smaller to be so snug on my foot that they CAN’T FOR THE LOVE OF GOD slip off, but no bueno. Until this shoe! Quite frankly, I don’t understand how they made a heel this comfortable. The back is cinched, so it fits exactly to the shape of your foot. The heel isn’t too high at all and is a solid block, so it almost feels like – dare I say – walking in flats. Literally. I have + am obsessed with the bright red, but I’m about to pull the trigger on both the black AND natural suede colors. Every gal needs a statement heel, so bright red will suffice there. And every girl needs a good black heel. And every girl also needs a nude/neutral heel. Check, check, aaaaaand check. And I’m lowkey freaking out, cos they also came out with FLATS and slip-on mules of the same make. Excuse me as I buy #AllTheShoes. Don’t tell J. 😉 True to size!
“Sunnyside” flats – This is the most random shoe find ever. I’ve had these flats for so long that I don’t even remember where I originally bought them – and they’re fading out a bit at this point. But good Lord, when it comes to comfy shoes for work, these take the cake. I lovelovelove how cute + dainty many ballet flats look, but I can’t STAND when they rub or when I walk right outta ’em – a problem I have a lot for whatever weird reason. They really feel like walking on a little cloud. They’re all cushy inside and are elastic around the sides, so there’s no need to stash Band-Aids at your desk. They come in a whole slue of colors, and they’re ~$25, so you can get a pair in every color you like without feeling guilty. 😉 When I first had the idea for this post and went through my collection for the best of the best, I immediately grabbed these…then realized I obviously needed another color, and I bought the rose gold. They just came in yesterday (literally), and I’m already hooked. I wear true to size!
“Classic Flats“ in Sapphire Blue (c/o) – I lovelovelove a good loafer. When it comes to comfy shoes for work, I think these pair best with khaki, button-down tops or blouses, etc. – very J. Crew-esque style. Perfect for a preppier look on the job! They’re a bit pricier, but a unique perk: they’re super slip-resistant. The sole is orchestrated with this “grip-tech” technology, so if you’re someone who finds it frustrating when the bottoms of flats wear out or have zero traction whatsoever…these are for you.
Bow mules – OK OK, I’ve talked about these a bit much. BUT FOR GOOD REASON. I keep wanting to say “they’re the comfiest shoes ever!” but that’s the whole point of this post, so duh Erica. But really tho, I’m SO beyond glad I invested in these bad boys this season. And they now come in white + black, too, so again…don’t mind my online shopping cart. 😉 These feel like they’ve got a bit o’ padding in the step, which I’m a fan of, and the leather is absolutely gorgeous. TMI, but my feet also don’t sweat in ’em. This is important information, I swear. It means they don’t slip off your feet while walking – a huge thing to consider with any sorta slip-on mule. Also, I definitely dripped red wine on them shortly after getting them (typical) and IT WIPED RIGHT OFF. Don’t mark my words on that one, cos maybe I just lucky, but that is also significant. 100% worth the money. You’ll wear them THAT much. They’re true to size, too!
What are your own favorites/most comfy shoes for work?
Not like I need any more, but a girl can always window shop amiright?? 😉
