We’ve all been there. We’ve picked up that piece in the store and thought to ourselves, “How the heck would I wear that???” Whether it’s a fringed floral kimono, over-sized harem pants (can they even be oversized?), strappy platform sandals or that mustard-colored top – because what matches mustard besides ketchup? – it can be a struggle sometimes.
I figured it’d be fun to put together some inspiration with my own favorite finds in a new feature, One Thing, Ten Ways.
And I’ll be showing you – you guessed it! – one thing styled in ten different fashions for hopefully easy inspiration, whether it’s for your next shopping outing or your own long overdue spring closet cleaning.
Spoiler alert! I got my hairs cut. Another spoiler alert…you can get $5 off your own pair of leopard booties with the code ROSES. (And if you don’t like my shoes, well, you can just get $5 off any other full-price item instead.)
Now let’s talk the ten, from top to bottom, left to right.
First. Rocker chic with a black tee, moto jacket, and light ripped denim. I wore this for a casual date night with J this past weekend, and it was a hit! Jackets with detailing and ripped things can all get paired together for this combo, because it’s a bit rugged and a bit edgy and a whole lotta awesome.
Second. Cozy in a rust sweater and darkwash jeggings, with a black knit beret and infinity scarf. Finish with a statement bangle. Perfect for a cooler spring ala Paris.
Third. Glam in a fuschia dress with mesh cut-outs and a fascinator on top. Possibly going with this look for an act of my upcoming acapella show. (Yay? Nay? Whatchu think?)
Fourth. Edgy with a burgundy midi skirt and off-shoulder black tee. This says, “I like art and indie movies and local coffeeshops.”
Fifth. Festival ready with highwaisted booty shorts and a royal blue crop tank. For those days seemingly far into the future where weather is warm and sunshiney.
Sixth. Cute in a bright graphic sweatshirt (je t’aime!) and darkwash jeggings. Makes an everyday look trendy as ever. Swap in any graphic tee or sweater in a bright, poppy color and you’re good to go.
Seventh. Comfy in black leggings and a long red tunic. All knit solids put the snappy statement on your feet. This is a go-to comfortable outfit for traveling in style!
Eighth. Fun for everyday in a black chiffon tank with a pearl-detailed collar and rolled boyfriend jeans. Roll up those jeans so your fierce booties show. It’s glamorous but sexy but understated enough for everyday chic. What’s not to love?
Ninth. A chambray dress and glasses. Because chambray matches everything.
Tenth. Seeing spots in a black-and-white polka dot dress with tights. Don’t be afraid to mix patterns! Spots and leopard? #yes
What would you pair with leopard booties?
Let me know if this is a series you’d like to stick around.
