For 2015 and for always, you need to change.
But I’m not talking about changing your weight or your love of chocolate – I’m talking about your love of yourself. So often, we fill ourselves with self-deprecating thoughts. I’m not pretty. I’m not that smart. I’m just not that great. And I’m definitely not beautiful.
First things first: you are beautiful. And this is an operation to prove it. Introducing: Operation Beautiful. Where we celebrate the beauty in each and every one of us. Now let’s hop to it – these girlies are fan-freakin-tastic.
I feel most beautiful when…My hair and makeup are done and I’m surrounded by people I care about. There’s just something about that energy that makes me feel amazing!
My favorite physical features is my…Smile!
Something non-physical that I love about myself is…My musicality. I love to sing and play guitar. My love of music is a huge part of who I am!
I’m happiest when…I’m with my boyfriend and my friends and we’re all telling stories and being goofballs and having a great time!
I feel most beautiful when…I’m smiling and I feel like it’s okay to laugh! I’m not going to say I don’t have serious moments where I feel confident or powerful, but I feel like being able to smile or laugh in any situation means that you are comfortable and ready to take on whatever’s coming your way.
My favorite physical features are my…Probably my hair! It took me years to grow it out after a bad haircut decision in junior high and now I love the length. It’s super thick, so sometimes it doesn’t like to cooperate, but I love when it does and looks great for pictures or events!
Something non-physical that I love about myself is…My optimism! I’m always trying to look to the positive side of things, even when I am freaking out or feeling really anxious about an upcoming exam or event – I make myself focus on the benefits or whatever good thing will happen after it’s done!
I’m happiest when…I’m busy, but I mean more like the good kind of busy. Planning events, working on blog posts, mentoring freshmen, doing community service, meeting new people for informational interviews – I love it all! That’s the good kind of stress!
I feel most beautiful when..I’m disconnected from technology. There’s so much negativity swarming in today’s society, especially on the internet, and it’s hard to not let it affect you or your image of yourself. It’s important to just turn it all off sometimes.
My favorite physical feature is my…Smile. People say the eyes are the window to the soul, but I disagree. I think your smile shows everything, including happiness, sadness, and any emotions in between.
Something non-physical that I love about myself is…I have a really big heart. I have this insatiable need to help other people who are suffering, especially when their hardships hit close to home, even if I have to make sacrifices of my own.
I’m happiest when..I’m surrounded with friends. I don’t know where I’d be without them and their unconditional love, support, and laughter.
Join the movement.
