In making many product swaps to “cleaner” alternatives, I stumbled upon DIME Beauty. Maybe like you, I had already heard everyone and their mother talk about the brand on social media; I was trying to NOT be influenced by all of the DIME beauty reviews I was seeing left and right, but after doing the deep dive of research myself, I couldn’t resist. It just kinda snowballed from there as I kept finding products that I loveloveloved, and since I was in the market for switching out more chemical-heavy products in my collection for healthier, cleaner products that wouldn’t further disrupt my hormones or cause other potential health issues down the line, I was game to explore more.
All of DIME’s products are rated cleanly on the EWG scale; their ingredients are sulfate-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, and BPA/BPS-free, and all products are vegan, cruelty-free, and sustainably packaged.
At this point, I’d say I’ve tried maybe 80% of their products? And really, I’ve been nothing but impressed. The fact that they’ve made so many products that work without breaking the bank OR being loaded with unhealthy, hormone-disrupting chemicals or additives is awesome.

Without further adieu – presenting, my comprehensive DIME Beauty reviews of hits AND misses from the brand. (*Updated again as of August 2023 with more that I’ve tried!)
PERFUMES – HIT
I’ve talked your ear off about DIME perfumes before – for good reason. They’re clean, non-toxic, non-hormone-disrupting fragrances – which is HUGE in the industry since so many fragrances are endocrine disruptors!
Beyond that, they smell fabulous. My personal favorites are 7 Summers and Dans Les Bois; 7 Summers is a warmer, cream scent – it’s got notes of warm sugar, vanilla, coconut cream, bergamot, praline…it’s basically a dream. Dans Les Bois is in the same scent family, I’d say, but a bit woodsier than 7 Summers (if you like one, you’ll like the other!). They’re also dupes to the $300+ designer fragrance Baccarat Rouge 540! I’ve seen both be called a dupe, but I can say firsthand that 7 Summers smells IDENTICAL to me; when I was in Disney, my friend Tara passed me and I stopped her and said “Oh my gosh, are you wearing the DIME perfume, too??” She said “Nope, it’s Baccarat!” They smelled exactly the same to me, but mine was under $40. 😉

BUT, fragrance is obviously so personal and scents literally smell differently on different bodies thanks to our differing skin chemistries, so my top recommendation is their sampler kit. VOIR LE BON COLOGNE – HIT
Buckle up, babes – this scent is SEXY. If you need a gift for your guy (that will also benefit you hehe), this is it. I put DIME’s newest cologne launch in J’s last Christmas stocking without even knowing what it smelled like yet…holy moly. I audibly *gasped* upon smelling it on him. It’s one of those head-turning scents.
It’s sexy, it’s unique…it’s also a non-toxic/clean cologne, which is important because did you know fragrances can mess with guys’ hormones, too???
But it just smells freaking incredible. Mimi was over and said to me, “What scent is on Jonah?? Is that yours? It’s INCREDIBLE…” Turns out, it was J’s cologne lingering on Jonah man’s head (another reason to switch to non-toxic fragrance since it can get on your littles, too!).
Also, he’s been using it since I gifted it to him and it looks barely used…so a spritz or two does the trick! (I just also always recommend reapplying throughout the day if you want since eau de toilette’s aren’t as potent as parfum…which I’m more than okay with when it’s a clean, non-toxic fragrance instead of a formula loaded with chemicals just to last a little longer!).

BLUE FACIAL OIL – HIT
I used to be *skeptical* of facial oils, especially being someone with oily skin. It always seemed counterintuitive to add oil on top of oily skin, but turns out – it’s actually super beneficial. Sometimes, if your skin is stripped of its own natural oils, it will overproduce oil and cause a buildup; replenishing your natural oil with a facial oil can actually balance you out while ALSO preventing breakouts. DIME’s Blue Facial Oil was their first blemish product – it’s formulated with a few powerhouse ingredients to help fight acne while also being anti-aging AND anti-inflammatory, reducing redness, scarring, and breakouts at once. It’s rich in antioxidants, anti-microbial, hydrating, and a cruelty-free and vegan formula.
Blue Tansy oil is calming to help damaged skin while also fighting wrinkles. Black cumin seed oil helps retain moisture while fighting free radical damage, fine lines, and wrinkles; it also works on redness and soothes irritation. Rosehip seed oil is loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, and essential fatty acids, working as an anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, AND anti-blemish aid.
I apply it as the final step in my nighttime routine (I typically alternate evenings with my fave Tula overnight treatment!), and I’ve been SHOOKETH with how much I lovelovelove it. It feels fabulous on my skin but also makes a NOTICEABLE difference overall, and I’d absolutely recommend it.
WONDERSCREEN SPF 30 – HIT
Wonderscreen is DIME’s 5-star-rated, clean mineral sunscreen that won’t leave you feeling greasy or with a white cast. It’s great for everyday use and wears well under makeup, even if you have more oily skin like me. I took the below picture on the right AFTER applying Wonderscreen to my arm, so you can see – it blends in beautifully with no lingering white cast!
TINTED WONDERSCREEN – HIT
I wrote a full DIME Tinted Wonderscreen review, which is *so rare* for me to dedicate a full blog post to…so you KNOW it’s good. As if the other nearly 2,500+ five star reviews didn’t have you convinced. 😉 This just might be my personal favorite DIME product to date.
It’s a clean, chemical-free sunscreen…but it’s one of the few (maybe only?) mineral SPFs that doesn’t leave a white cast on your skin. It’s actually the best SPF coverage for the price point out of so many that I compared (all laid out in the blog post I linked above – your girl did her #research! Ha!).
It works on all skin types + colors (for real).
It’s the most ideal product for no-makeup days, pool time, beach days…really, anytime you want a *bit* of coverage or correction with all the benefits of skincare – sun protection, but also moisture and blemish/redness correction. Of course, you NEED (read: need) to be wearing SPF daily – even when it’s cloudy. But what I lovelovelove about this stuff is that it’s really above and beyond since it has squalane and beetroot in it too, which work to reduce redness and swelling, blemishes, fine lines, and wrinkles. SO MUCH MORE than your average/regular sunscreen, AND it’s a clean/non-toxic formula!!!! It’s affordable the way it is (I *just* finished one bottle after about six months of regular use), but code THRIVE20 will take an additional 20% off your order.
Here’s a quick before-and-after side-by-side for you, both completely filter-free (obviously). The left is totally makeup free – the right is just with the tinted SPF. You can see how beautifully it blurred my redness – even blurred some blemishes! – and just gives a very natural-looking glow while evening things out!
VOLUME MASCARA – MISS?
I’m on the fence with DIME’s mascara. If you’re looking for a very natural-looking mascara for no-makeup days, I think it fits the bill. But it’s not as volumizing/lengthening as I typically like for more “glam” or fuller makeup, so I’d use my tried and true instead for a bolder look. While I do like that it’s a cleaner formula with great ingredients, I’m not sure if I’d re-purchase at its price point with how many drugstore mascaras work fabulously for under $10.
HYALURONIC ACID SERUM – HIT
Both of DIME’s serums have SOLID 5-star customer ratings so I knew I had to try both in my arsenal. Hyaluronic acid is clutch for boosting hydration levels and works *beautifully* when layered with other products; it’s actually capable of holding up to 1,000 times its own weight in water, so it soaks in easily + acts fast to hydrate. That being said…
Something I learned in researching hyaluronic acid serums – if it feels “tight” on your face after applying, it’s probably your body telling you you need a moisturizer on TOP of the serum! Hyaluronic acid needs a lipid barrier covering it, otherwise it can actually suck moisture OUT of your skin instead of depositing more IN, so just make sure you’re remembering your moisturizer (+ sunscreen) as final step after serum. 😉
HYPER GLOW SERUM – HIT
A fabulous power-punch serum with 15% Vitamin C, Ferulic Acid, orange extract, magnolia bark extract, AND grape seed extract to fight free-radical damage! Fights hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and texture, too, while boosting your skin’s elasticity AND firmness.

WHIPPED EXFOLIATING MASK – HIT
AND AGAIN, another DIME beauty bestseller with over 1,000 *solid* five star reviews! I’m also pickier with masks – especially anything “exfoliating” or deeply purifying or muddy – because while I want my pores cleared OUT, I also don’t want to be left totally red and irritated (ya feel me?). The little beads in DIME’s mask or perfectly spherical to not cut or damage your skin and are sized for different levels of exfoliation; then it’s also got salicylic acid inside to help with dissolving gunk and declogging pores, and lactic acid to brighten, smooth, and even your skin tone (also also reduce the look of fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots…lactic acid does ALL THE THINGS).
WHIPPED BODY EXFOLIATOR – MISS
While it’s a good manual exfoliator and I get the hype/intention of chemical exfoliants in the formulas (ie lactic acid), I don’t love them in products like this because I inevitably forget that there’s acid inside and then use it before shaving my legs…womp. Word to the wise, don’t do that. Ha!
GENTLE JELLY CLEANSER – HIT
I was SO pleasantly surprised with the Gentle Jelly Cleanser. It removes dirt, oil, and makeup, hydrates and soothes, helps soften your skin’s texture, and protects your skin from environmental stressors. This one has coconut + Vitamin E instead, as well as strawberry oil + lycopene, so you don’t feel tight or dry after cleansing. It’s a clean formula and FABULOUS.
CREAMY FOAMING CLEANSER – HIT
The Creamy Foam Cleanser is probably the best foam cleanser I’ve ever tried; it’s a fluffier, richer foam with a great lather, formulated to actually give you a deep clean. It’s formulated for more oily/acne-prone skin and has glycolic acid for gentle exfoliation and salicylic acid for dissolving dead skin cells. It’s not stripping and helps promote your skin cell turnover for a healthier glow.
SUPER SKIN TONER – MISS?
I’m a little torn on this one, only because I’ve never been the biggest fan of witch hazel in my toners. That being said, it’s suuuper highly rated by other customers, so I think it’s really a matter of personal preference if your skin is more sensitive or reacts better to certain ingredients in your toners versus not. Something I DO like about DIME’S Super Skin Toner is that it’s supposed to up the levels of CoQ10 in your skin cells, which helps protect against free radical damage, supports energy products, etc while still tightening + brightening your skin overall. In general, it’s formulated to keep your pH levels balanced instead of just stripping all semblance of moisture from your face, which would obviously be no bueno.
DEWY DAY CREAM – HIT
What I lovelovelove so much about all of DIME’s moisturizers is that they aren’t greasy or heavy. As someone with oily skin, I cannot deal with feeling like a slippery eel after applying moisturizer – but, I still care about actually hydrating my skin and nourishing it with good, clean ingredients (as all skin types should). The day cream has over 1300 solid 5-star reviews; beyond moisturizing, it’s got an antioxidant blend to also prevent/reduce signs of aging, and it helps plump and firm your skin throughout the day (bless).
Fun fact: one of its ingredients is Snow Mushroom, which I learned is a wickedly powerful hydrator that can hold up to 500 times its own weight in water; the extract particles are smaller than most extracts, so it easily penetrates the skin and hydrates like crazy.
RESTORATIVE NIGHT CREAM – HIT
So actually, BOTH of their main moisturizers are rated solid 5-stars by customer reviews. DIME’s restorative night cream is formulated to repair skin overnight while fighting fine lines and wrinkles and shrinking the look of your pores. But, it’s also got properties to be cell-regenerating, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant boosting.

EYELASH SERUM – HIT, but TBD…
I feel like I cannot speak to the DIME eyelash serum just YET since I haven’t been using it *consistently* enough to see true results. The BIGGEST thing I’ve heard with DIME’s eyelash serum is that consistency is key, and it typically takes 6-ish months to see real results. When it comes to sheer quantity of DIME beauty reviews, the eyelash serum MUST take home gold for number of reviews – it’s at over 7500+. Formulated (cleanly, of course) to improve length, density, AND strength of your eyelashes.
So all that to say, I say “HIT, but TBD” because I have no negative qualms with it as of yet, but I want to see my “full” results after a few more months of solid, dedicated nightly use. I snapped a quick shot this morning (ignore the one mascara clump leftover from yesterday apparently – ha!) – this is after about one month of decently consistent use so far!
PROBIOTIC GEL CREAM – HIT???
If you’re not a fan of heavier face creams, especially for daytime wear or underneath makeup, then this will be a great option for you. It’s a water-based, oil-free formulated that’s meant to address blemishes, inflammation and redness WHILE hydrating your skin. It’s also formulated for all skin types – good for a lighter, dewy finish.
ACNE TONING SERUM – HIT
As someone who has been acne-prone her whole life, I’m picky with my pimple products. The acne toning serum is a newer launch from DIME Beauty; it’s a serum with salicylic acid and magnolia bark that’s meant to kill acne-causing bacteria to prevent future breakouts, while reducing inflammation from existent ones. Beyond that, it’s formulated to help clear out your pores (which helps them look smaller!) without stripping the skin of hydration, so it’s an acne product that won’t dry you out! Bless up! That’s probably what I lovelovelove so much about it: it battles current breakouts while preventing future ones AND doesn’t make you a flaky, dry mess in the process.
CLEANSING BALM – MISS
The cleansing balm is too hard, in my opinion; it’s tough to get out of the tub and manipulate in your hands without making a total mess. I’d recommend this one instead – it’s been my favorite for YEARS (+ code ERICA20 takes 20% off!).
TBT CREAM – HIT
I started using the DIME TBT cream once I found out I was pregnant with Jonah, since it’s a clean retinol alternative – making it pregnancy-safe (although, of course, always double check products with your own doc if/when concerned about safety!).
Even if you’re not expecting, if regular retinol irritates your skin, this stuff is a GREAT alternative; it’s not nearly as harsh, and it IS hydrating, so you get the typical anti-aging benefits of accelerated skin cell turnover (reducing fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, etc) while also having the skin be plumped, firmed and moisturized. It ALSO helps regulate sebum production, so my fellow oily gals – this is for us!
LIP BALM – HIT
This is one that sells out constantly, so if you see it stocked, snag it! Ain’t nobody got time for dry, crusty winter lips – DIME’s lip balm feels SO GOOD on, but also has ingredients that actually work to heal + moisturizer without just slapping something emollient on top. Fun fact: while skin on other parts of your face can have up to 16 layers, the skin on your lips only has between 3 and 5. That’s what makes them dehydrate and show signs of aging faster!
This DIME lip balm has shea butter, Vitamins A, E, and F, and a few other oils and good-for-you ingredients that take it to the next level beyond just hydrating; it’s also anti-inflammatory, reparative, and anti-aging for your lips, too.
NO. 1 COLOGNE – HIT
DIME’s first cologne just launched for the men right before the holidays, so I grabbed one for J’s stocking before it sold out. He LOVED it – so much so that he kept smelling it WHILE everyone was opening gifts and commenting on how great it was. HA. But, what I think is so cool is that it’s formulated cleanly like their other fragrances to not disrupt male hormones, either!
The scent is a blend of sandalwood, bergamot, and amber musk. Basically, smells like a sexy hunk. 😉
THE GLAZE – HIT
When The Glaze first launched, I had doubts. As someone who has always checked the box for “oily skin,” I generally avoid anything with “oil” in the title like it’s got cooties or the plague. But after using it for months now – wowwwwee. I’ve been proved wrong, y’all. It’s SO GOOD. It’s loaded with the richest AND cleanest ingredients – namely, three fabulous oils (argan, jojoba, and meadowfoam oils). These work together to protect against environmental damage, soothe dry or irritated skin, improve your overall texture and elasticity, balance your skin’s natural oil production and deeeeeply hydrate – all WITHOUT being greasy or heavy.
It doesn’t absorb instantly, so I recommend applying all over, then doing something else for a few minutes to let it fully sink in before putting clothes on so that you get the full benefit on your skin! And I promise you, you will NOT feel like a slicked up racetrack – you WILL feel luxuriously moisturized and deeply hydrated.
Deserving of its 1,500+ five star ratings from fellow customers. This is one that I’ve had multiple girlfriends and readers tell me they fell in loveloveLOVE with after grabbing on my recommendation! It’s a pleasant surprise all around.
