While some may still wait a week or two to call it fall, I say the time is now. Really, the time was the second week of August at our house. 😉 But since Starbucks fall menu has made its debut, ’tis the season for pumpkin spice and everything nice. My Fall Bucket List:
- Go apple picking with the fam – make homemade apple sauce with our pickings!
- Attempt a “creamy apple pie” from scratch
- Pick our own pumpkins at a local pumpkin patch – and paint them!
- Make homemade soup.
- Also homemade chili
- Crank up the Monster Mash and dance in the kitchen with Liv
- Find a few favorite *clean* fall candles (preferably ones that smell like pie – or copycats of Bath & Body Works “Leaves”)
- Watch Hocus Pocus by the fire
- Watch Elmo Says Boo with Liv – you know, the suuuuper old episode from the 90’s with teenage Julia Roberts? #classic
- Go on a fall foliage hike
- Jump in the leaves
- Make a no-bake pumpkin cheesecake (+ blog the recipe for ya 😉 )
- Have a fall date night at a corn maze with J
- Make a leaf craft with Liv!
- Enjoy fall cocktails by the fire pit
- Master a healthier, yummier pumpkin spice latte at home!

- Brave a haunted house
- Bake a pumpkin treat (pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, etc!)
- Go on a ghost walk or haunted tour of a spooky town
- Carve a pumpkin – and put a light in it for the front porch!
- Stock up on your favorite candy…but not for trick or treaters. Just for you. Treat yo’self. 😉
- Open up all the windows to “air out” with crisp fall breezes!
- Try fresh apple cider (+ keep it stocked for the season!)
- Attend a local fall festival
- Get out your coziest blankets and throws – wash them with this. (Thank me later 😉 ).
- Have a comfort food night of fall favorites: chili, mac n’ cheese, and anything in a crockpot.
- Make caramel or candy apples! Peanuts or chocolate chips optional.
- Watch football on a Sunday afternoon. Like, all afternoon.
- Speaking of football, round up some friends for a backyard game of two-hand-touch!
- Binge Stranger Things – Seasons 1 AND 2
- Roast some pumpkin seeds!
- Make pumpkin pancakes or pumpkin waffles for brunch – paired with apple cider mimosas!
- Host an apple-bobbing night with friends. Bonus if everyone has to take an apple vodka or apple brandy shot before bobbing!
- Marathon old episodes of The Munsters or The Addams Family
- Go on a hayride. Optional: A haunted one!
- Pick up fresh apple fritters from a local bakery
- Take a family photo for your Christmas cards
- Make a roll of Pillsbury pumpkin sugar cookies
- Go to (or have!) a bonfire and roast some marshmallows
- Watch “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!”
- Host a chili cook-off party with friends – blind taste tests for all!
- Make a fresh fall wreath for your front door
- Try your hand at homemade apple chips – just thinly slice, sprinkle with cinnamon, + bake on parchment paper at 200 degrees until they’re your preferred crisp
- Tailgate at a football game – bonus points for bringing pumpkin beer!
- Go on a neighborhood Halloween tour – drive around to check out the decorations pre-Halloween night
- Go on a wine tasting tour – preferably at an orchard
- Host a fall canning party to collect canned goods for a local soup kitchen
- Start a gratitude journal. Write down 5 things at the start of every day that you’re thankful for (preferably that have occurred in the past 24 hours!), and read your entries back on Thanksgiving Day!
- Host a Friendsgiving party in preparation for Thanksgiving. Bonus points if you make a harvest charcuterie board.
