It’s already that time of year…family photo time! We didn’t do annual pictures for Christmas cards growing up, so for some reason, I am ALL ABOUT IT now. I’m such a photo/memory collector and just love being able to watch our family grow up in this way! Because we loveloveloved last year’s pictures so much, we used Shoott again! Essentially, Shoott lets you book a *free* 30-minute photo session at a location on their list, and then pay only $15 per photo for ones you love – or a set fee (I think about $200 – but I have a Shoott promo code for ya below!) for the whole gallery. Last year this felt like the best bet since we had NO clue how Liv would be for pictures as a near-two-year-old – and this year, it was another no brainer since the “threenager” year is upon us. 😉 Ha!
This year’s was a bit different because I had a location in my head that wasn’t listed on their website – BUT, I ended up emailing customer service to ask if they happened to do “custom” locations, and sure enough, they do! It works a bit differently in that you do have to pay a fee up front for a session (versus a free 30 minute shoot per their regular business model), but you end up getting your entire gallery of photos included in that fee…so it’s a BIT more of a gamble up front, but pays off.

Also something I *highly* recommend for my fellow mamas in the house. Lord knows toddlers are unpredictable creatures (or predictably chaotic? ha!), and the weather this time of year can also be a bit iffy. Our first experience ever doing family pictures a few years ago ran us about $500+, and I’m much more risk-averse now that we’re in toddler town. 😉 In terms of actually signing up for a session, after choosing your city/location, you pick which spot you want to have your session at and an available day/time from there. The only downside, in my opinion, is that you don’t get to choose your specific photographer. You get an email the day before your scheduled shoot with your photographer assignment, likely based on availability for your location, etc.
