House Tour: Home Office Decor Ideas

I am SO BEYOND STOKED to share this post with you guys (finally)! First off, it’s just been a long time coming. I started unveiling rooms of our house one-by-one in June of 2016. Y’all. That was almost a year ago already. Excuse me 2017, but can ya slow the heck down for a hot sec?!? My home office decor was always later on the list, because it never felt *finished*. Also, it was never clean. HA. 😉

But really tho, anytime I’m sent PR packages of products to test out or have a running to-do list of something physical to sort or organize, it usually just gets dumped…in my office. So while I might have some corners all nice and tidy and Instagram-ready (LOL), there’s typically chaos behind-the-scenes. If you follow me on Instagram and saw my Insta-stories, or if you saw my Snapchat this morning (erica_lig), you saw the now-state of my hallway since I cleaned out my home office…but ain’t no way in you-know-where that all of that ish is going back onto my office floor. I’m now SO INSPIRED + amped up to keep it pristine, so you best believe it’s gonna stay exactly as you’re about to see it. Cos…it’s worth it. My home office decor is my daytime happy place, since it’s where I’m living + working for most of the day. SO, let’s head inside!

Right when you first walk into my home office, on the right wall is that lil’ collage of inspirational prints ( print, black and white , pink ) and the “Be Legendary” corkboard that I found at HomeGoods. Some of my favorite books (+ some that’re on my list to read this year) are stacked up there below, but I’m considering getting a little 2 x 2 white cube shelving unit there for organizational + storage purposes…what do you think?? Opposite that on the left is my “Never let anyone dull your sparkle” print – a cheesy saying, but one that really is true is you think about it! Your joy is FAR too important to be in the hands of anyone else. Beneath that is a full length mirror, which TBH is just my dorm room mirror from college that needed a home. HA. The “Make It Happen” whiteboard is what I use during launch weeks for things like BossPitch (which is re-launching soon…get yo’self on the waitlist at the bottom of this page if you’re interested in knowing once it’s out again!) to plan out a busy week as thoroughly as possible.

Then there’s a closet (since this is/was a spare bedroom space originally), and then my comfy corner, as I’ve fondly dubbed it. This furry pink chair and I go WAY BACK. Like, OG Coming Up Roses. Can someone fill a sistah in on “OG”? I feel old AF and have no clue what it actually means, nor if I just used it correctly in a sentence. SOS. HA.

Anyways. This furry pink chair was something I had in high school, if not earlier, and it was such a score. I remember getting it at Spencer’s gifts at the mall, because I was on a mission for a comfy AF chair and nothing could hold me from it – not even sex toys and scary posters in Spencer’s. The (+ on sale!), and that I keep raving about on Instagram! I could not be more in lovelovelove with this blanket. I got it because it was on sale (and still is!) and I can’t resist large pom poms. And now I’m just in love. It’s the *softest* thing. I’d recommend treating yo’self to one obvi, but it also would make an AH-MAZING gift for your bestie, sister, mom, grandmom…literally any chica in yo’ life. It’s SO cute and versatile for decor purposes, which I also lovelovelove.

Above that is the “She Believed She Could So She Did” print, which I picked up at , and the “Live What You Love” print that I literally made on Microsoft Word and printed out to hang in a $3 Ikea frame. Cos #budgeting.

AND FUN FACT. Ya see that little basket with the red ribbon that’s sitting on the floor behind my pink chair????? That’s a stage prop. I was a big musical theatre chick in high school, and the first musical I was ever in ever was Oklahoma. I was Ado Annie, and that was the basket that I had with me on stage, like, all the time. So of course I kept it, and inside are old props and scripts from all of the shows I’ve ever been in. Cos I’m sentimental like that. 🙂

Right next to le fluffball of a chair, I’ve got this – it’s the easiest thing! And especially lovelovelove that it has that space in the bottom, because my magazine holder rack thingermabob fits perfectly. Obviously I’ve got a zebra dish with business cards on top, along with that fun framed lip print (which I just printed off from le internet), a glass candle globe holder from Burlington sitting on top of a white candle holder from Bath and Body Works (raise your hand if your closet is FULL of B&BW candles like mine…), and a black and white box from my favorite planner that was just too cute to throw away. 😉

My white shelving unit is Ikea and was the very first thing to go in my home office after my too good of a husband took it from an atrocious neon yellow color to white. I included close-ups of each shelf for detail purposes, in case you’re nosy like me and wanna know what’s on every surface of other people’s homes. HA. Some fun things to call out…

The photographs on the top left shelf! The pink framed one is myself with Carly from the College Prepster at a conference one summer…where we just so happened to match outfits. Obviously that’s me and J in the middle, and then I’m with Hilary Rushford in the photo on the right!

On the middle left shelf is a jar full of pieces of paper – and it’s pretty much the coolest thing ever. One of my best friends did that for me as a gift; she had a bunch of the closest people in my life write about encouraging notes, quote, or positive thoughts about me and compiled them all on little scripts in that jar. I’m only allowed to open and read one in a particularly crummy moment where I could really use the pickmeup. HOW COOL OF A GIFT IS THAT?!?! It’s really a gift that keeps on giving, and it has such a positive impact when it’s needed most, even when you can’t be there with your friend physically. Here is my , my , and my .

The three pink-and-black cubes on the bottom left shelf were gifts from my mama, because she’s just an inspirational bosslady like that. And the gold @ sign in the front there was something I JUST picked up at Burlington two days ago, on clearance for $2.99. Bless up.

On the very bottom shelves, I have – they’re SO handy to sneakily store any random things, etc. For my, the leftmost bin has things to be given away to y’all in giveaways, or things to give to my girlfriends, and the rightmost bin has things that make for good photoshoot props and/or things I need to shoot ASAP!

I am lowkey obsessed with . Fun fact: It’s technically called a “lingerie drawer.” But ain’t no lingerie in there! I was so proud of myself when I could afford to pimp out my office space with that bad boy. I absolutely lovelovelove the mirror effect, and I think it just looks so classy + chic. I have allllllll sorts of office supplies, paperwork, notebooks, mailing supplies, + more stacked up in there. On top you’ll notice a lava lamp, cos I’m 12. HA. It’s actually a glitter lamp, and I have it there cos it looks so stinking cool if my lights are off and that thing is reflecting off of the walls around it and the mirrored chest. #ambiance. Then there’s , cos that’s the coolest thing ever – which I would HIGHLY recommend if you need a gift idea for any of your peeps!

Notice the two plants on my windowsill…I think they’re dead. It was only a matter of time. RIP.

On the floor is my latest home office decor addition: ! One more is still on the way (why did Amazon send them one by one??? The world will never know…), and I use these to see my editorial calendar at a glance. I primarily do ALL of my planning, from the blog and work to life in general, on paper planners and calendars, since I’m just visual like that and like having some things in my life that AREN’T digitized. 😉 Lovelovelove them so far!

On the wall there to the left of my workspace is that trio of photo collages…I am obsessed with these. Would y’all wanna see a DIY tutorial for them?? Sound off in the comments section…! I made these myself using IKEA frames and my Instagram feed.

Aaaaaaand welcome to my desk! My desk is SO affordable and I would 100% recommend it. Fun hack: I wanted the top to be entirely white to match the rest of my furniture in here, so I just flipped the table top pieces around. EASY. I’m someone who like to spread things out and visualize errrrrr’thaaaaang all at once, so having an L-shaped desk was an absolute must for me. This girl has to have a the full setup in place, as evident by my dual screens and notebooks galore. Blogging, or world domination? Who the heck knows.

On that shelf is a buncha random stuff, like . They’re just these little body sprays that are supposed to help re-center you in certain ways, so they’re nice as a little pickmeup on any given day. I keep my journal on that shelf, too, for when I need to jot down some thoughts Dear Diary-style. Here is my , and that light-up Taco sign is pretty much the best thing in my life, and that tall print of a girl…that’s me. YEAH. An Instagram follower literally MADE that and sent it to me and I think that was the best day of my life. Such an honor. Not a day goes by that I’m not so over the moon grateful for y’all. Endless lovelovelove.

Now before I get sappy…

Those jars of nail polishes are all Essie favorites of mine! have mah heart, so some of my go-to’s get lined up right in front as so.

Underneath the shelf is my corkboard, which is like the HUB of inspiration at CUR headquarters. 😉 I have all sorts of encouragement + notes to myself from myself (LOL) or notes from J, or inspiring tidbits and quotes I saw on Pinterest…anything goes. It’s sacred space for the positive thoughts that I need to feed myself daily to keep on keepin’ on, so I love it + highly recommend you make a similar space for yo’self for an everyday burst of inspo.

Having a big monitor has been so clutch for my productivity. There’s just something about having your work GIANT IN FRONT OF YO’ FACE that really gets you working on it ASAP. Ha. 😉 Any of you also addicted to colored pens + Sharpies??? My notes aren’t noted unless they’re noted colorfully, so having a jar of colored pens is a must.

(Code: Cominguproses gets you 15% off anything ya want!), , and .

And that’s it! My little hub of pink where all the magic happens. 😉

I tried my best to round up any and everything I have for you in case you’re tryna pimp out your own workspace, too, so forgive me if I missed anything…if you see something that you want and can’t find it in a link or widget, just let me know and I’ll try to find it for you!

Lastly, for my OOTD here…my earrings were a $2.99 clearance lookalike for these that I just scored a few days ago, but luckily the originals (which I had in my cart – how crazy is that?!) . I’ve had this top for so long, I’m 90% certain it was from a consignment shop. My , and my shoes are . Make sure you’re following me on Instagram if you’re not already, cos something fun with this brand is coming up soon… 😉

DANG, that was a mouthful. If you’ve stuck around this far, THANKS GF! If you’re in the market for home office decor yo’self, I’d recommend first and foremost figuring out what few bigger pieces will be the cornerstones of your space. For me, that’s my white shelving unit, my “lingerie chest” LOL, my furry pink chair, and my desk. For smaller detail and accent pieces, I’d strongly recommend hitting up places like HomeGoods and Burlington to save $$$. I found amazingly adorable prints from awesome Etsy shops, but when I had an idea for something I wanted hung…don’t be afraid to DIY! Play around with fonts in Microsoft word, download some free fonts online, get crafty in Adobe InDesign (which I recommend in this post) or Photoshop and make it yo’self. Makes it all the more special, too!

And lastly, give yo’self grace and don’t rush into buying everything all at once. I’ve had so much fun continually adding to my home office as I find the perfect pieces, and it would be NO FUN if everything was just up and done as soon as we moved in! So, patience. Something I’m learning every. single. day. 😉

What do you think of my home office decor?

Do you have a home office? How is yours decorated? And like I said above, if I missed anything that you’re curious about, let me know. If you want a DIY tutorial for my framed Instagram feed art things, let me know. And if you’re happy and you know it…clap yo’ hands and let a sistah know. 😉

P.S. There’s a whole tab with my home tour series, so click here to see allllll of the other rooms in our home published so far!

P.P.S. I’m still accepting intern applications!! ICYMI, CUR is hiring more interns. Hollah! Just shoot an email to erica@cominguprosesetheblog.com with your resume + saying why you’d like to intern with me, and I’ll be reaching out to everyone V SOON to schedule interviews and all that jazz. A yuuuuuuuge THANK YOU to everyone who has applied thus far – I’m seriously just so honored + humbled that anyone would ever want to work with me on this lil’ rosy blog o’ mine. 🙂 Living close enough to work in this here office with me is a BONUS, but not a necessity. SO if you’re also in the Philadelphia/Bucks County area and wanna spend some QT in the pink palace…get yo’ app in, girlfriend!!!

Hope you’re having a kickass week!
