Back at it again on a Monday. How was your Father’s Day Weekend??? I hope you spent it fabulously with any/all father figures in your life! This weekend really turned up the *heat* – it made for our first pool day of the season! We got to spend Sunday with both my dad AND Pop, and I think one of my dad’s favorite things *ever* is hanging poolside come summertime. So being able to float around and chitchat is always a treat. 🙂 But when the temperature goes up, you’re at bigger risk of your makeup sliding down…melting right off of your face. WOMP. Especially as someone prone to more oily skin, this is THE STRUGGLE. It can be hard to even go through the motions of putting on makeup sometimes, since I know that – chances are – it’s all going to be off or just not where it should be come 3 o’clock. BUT that doesn’t have to be the case…it’s all about the right combo of primers + setting sprays to lock in your lock and keep it melt-free! This post was going to be a BEAR of both, but it would’ve been approximately a book. So to make it easier on ya, it’s broken down – and today, we’re looking at some great setting sprays for summertime skin, especially if you’re more oily prone like me. Granted, a LOT of these sprays are not specifically FOR oily skin – actually, many/most are for all skin types, technically. I just default to oily skin since it’s what I personally have, and when I’m personally testing + using all of the products, that’s the lense through which I’m looking. Capiche? Cool beans. Let’s chat setting sprays for summer skin!
(old – I don’t even remember where I bought it, but I lovelovelove it and have been wearing it on repeat! Knotted t-shirts are my JAM right now shop more !) // Liquid lipstick // // (My exact shade isn’t online anymore, but the brand and it lasts reaaaaaally well for regular nail polish!) // (my personal FAVORITE right now!)

[ezcol_1half_end class=”shopping-content”]– I feel like Urban Decay just SLAYS the setting spray game! First off, the brand is cruelty-free (yay!), and their formula is oil + paraben-free. It’s also made with a patented Temperature Control Technology, which lowers the temperature of your makeup to help it stay put on yo’ face (how crazy is that?!). They did a 7-day study with this stuff, and in it, 100% of participants said De-Slick helped prevent makeup meltdown, over 90% said their makeup looked less shiny and rarely needed touch-ups, and 85% said it’s the longest-lasting oil-control product they’ve ever used. Ulta has it in full size AND travel-size, and I found it on sale at !

[ezcol_1half_end class=”shopping-content”]– Smells amazing. I gave this one extra attention, as my best friend said it was especially good/mattifying for oily skin (hollah), and sure enough, it is! It’s also specifically noted as being good for sensitive skin. Also comes with a free gift with purchase!

[ezcol_1half_end class=”shopping-content”]– This is another mult-tasker! It’s meant to prime, hydrate, AND set. Whenever I’m using this one, I tend to spritz it on before AND after makeup application. It’s got aloe vera extract + vitamin B5 inside for hydration, as well as cucumber extract for reduction of any puffiness. Also oil + silicone-free!

[ezcol_1half_end class=”shopping-content”]– A total do-it-all spray. Good for priming, setting, spraying on makeup brushes before application – the works. Granted, I think I prefer to use Fix+ beforehand, as a refresher + as more of a pre-set. I’m especially obsessed right now with different sprays + mists that act as skincare, since it’s such a little burst of refreshment during summer heat, with added benefits (huzzah!). Fix+ is loaded with vitamins + minerals, and is infused with a blend of green tea, chamomile, + cucumber for moisturization and soothing. So it’s meant to be really beneficial for your SKIN, besides also sheering out your foundation, intensifying color payoff of eyeshadows/highlights, and also extending your wear, of course. (It’s also dermatologist + ophthalmologist tested!). What I did not know: There are different variations/scents of Fix+!!!! There’s coconut, rose, + lavender.

[ezcol_1half_end class=”shopping-content”]– A great, affordable drugstore mist! It does the job without breaking the bank. It’s a pretty fine, but wide mist, which I like since 1-2 mists can cover my whole face. Currently BOGO 50% off AND get a free gift with purchase!

[ezcol_1half_end class=”shopping-content”]– So good it’s often sold out! It’s sold out at Nordstrom AND Urban Outfitters right now, but you can grab it directly from the brand website here. It’s actually from a Korean skincare brand, Touch in Sol, which I first learned about in a PR meeting – and it’s so friggin’ cool. The mist is specifically meant to be mattifying and is made with this innovative formula that transforms from a mist to a powder (serously) as it absorbs excess sebum + holds your makeup. It also smells AMAZEBALLS, so there’s that.

[/ezcol_1half]
[ezcol_1half_end class=”shopping-content”]– This one’s pretty unique (+ first caught my attention) in the setting sprays department cos it’s got SPF! It’s a weightless, matte finish mist made with cucumber + aloe vera extracts for soothing + refreshing, as well as hyaluronic acid (one of my fave skincare ingredients) for retaining moisture. It *also* claims to reduce the appearance of pores (bless), fine lines + wrinkles (bless bless), AND it’s got SPF 30 inside to “protect while you set.”
[/ezcol_1half_end] [/ezdiv]Do you have favorite setting sprays for summer? Or fave setting sprays PERIOD?
And with that, what’s your skin type? Are you more oily like me, or are you on the drier side? I’d lovelovelove to know – plus it’s super helpful for me to know, as I create skincare content for ya in the future! I KNOW obvi not everyone is my same skin type, so I want to make sure my content for y’all covers the bases + runs the gamut to be as helpful to as many peeps as possible. 🙂
With that, go out there and DO THE DAMN THING (as the Bachelorette would say – speaking of, are you watching tonight???).
And if ya need an extra dose of motivation this Monday morning, pick a Mantra, any Mantra.
