Once Memorial Day Weekend passes, it feels like that scene from High School Musical 2 where everyone just excitedly chants summer…summer…summer…summer! Even though it won’t be summer “officially” until the 22nd, I think we’ve all got beaches on the brain and are more than ready for some fun in the sun. We’re especially ready for fun in the sun if that fun includes any weddings or other big events or parties that require a nice dress + a babysitter for the night. 😉
A Q that’s come through a few times now in my DMs + emails from readers has been for options to wear to summer wedding or special events. So when I got this dress, I knew it was exactly the piece to headline this post for you and kickoff the conversation about options if a summer wedding guest dress is on your shopping list!
I saw it online and gasped.
I put it on and gasped again.
Long story short, someone invite your girl to a summer shindig STAT, because this bad boy needs to hit a dancefloor. We’ve got an October wedding on the calendar as of now, so I might just wear it to that since the colors could still work (I think) to a fall fiesta. What do you think?
It comes in this beautiful blue, but it also comes in a fiery red, which feels really reminiscent of everyone’s favorite dancing emoji. Both colors are total showstoppers and really flattering on all skin types + tones.
And the cut! I don’t think I’ve seen an asymmetrical hem like this before on a chiffon dress, and I’m utterly obsessed. It gives it the most fabulous flow when you walk – bring out a fan and break onto a runway, because this dress gives those kinda feels!
Also sharing my Valentino rockstud dupes with you – they look just like the $995 designer pair, but were about $150. My exact pair is unavailable now, but these are near-exact and are only $52.99 on Amazon Prime – bless up. This is another great lookalike option from DSW, and they’re under $50.
With any summer wedding wear, I think a few non-negotiables are a.) movability, and b.) comfort. I want my dress to be fun + flowy on the dance flor, without needing adjusting to be comfortable. Heck, it’s a wedding – everyone wants to feel beautiful + confident in their skin! And you sure as heck don’t want to be pulling a dress up or down all night long, or worrying about a nip slip or any other wardrobe malfunction.
So, I rounded up 15 dresses under $50 (one or two are over that, but for good reason!), in case you’re in need of a summer wedding guest dress this season, too.
This dress has been around for awhile now, and it stays around for good reason. Totally pretty option that comes in approximately 52 color options. Lovelovelove the midi-length overlay, so it’s a bit sexier with the shorter layer underneath, but ceremony-appropriate with the top!
This one’s over the price point listed, but I lovelovelove – and I have it myself, so I can personally vouch for its in-person fabulousness. 😉 It’s the same sort of flattering fit as a sheath dress, without being skin-tight.
What a winner. I mean…UNDER $30. Amazon Prime. Need I say more? 😉 I have this dress in my cart in the cobalt blue for a fall wedding on our calendar!
This little chiffon frock would be so cute with statement pumps and works through seasons, which helps with versatility. It’s a $138 dress on sale for 71% off…making it $39.97. Selling out FAST, so grab one if you lovelovelove!
I’ve got this dress in my cart justbecause. 😉 Another one that’s selling out fast! But I lovelovelove the tropical print and the one-shoulder look…would be perfect for a beach wedding! (Or if you’ve got beach plans, would be so nice for a dinner date out!)
Would it be me if a jumpsuit weren’t involved? I lovelovelove the ruffle details on this one – and it’s only $25 on Amazon Prime. Bonus points since the ankle-length leaves room to show off your shoes!
How PRETTY is this floral number?! Another Amazon option, folks! The v-neck shows justenough without being overkill, and the hemline is the same way – sexier in the front, more conservative in the back, but a party piece all around. I’ve got a feeling it’s v twirlable on the dance floor!
A funky sheath dress is always a fun choice as a summer wedding guest dress. Comes in a few colors, and it’s on sale for 50% off right now!!!!
For my petite girls, this one’s for you! The cutest pleated one-shoulder number, in a pretty mauve. Lovelovelove the swing factor!
If you caught my Instastories on Blogger Closet Sale, you might remember this bad boy – it was what I wore! This is such a FUN little ruffled number, and of course, hot pink is always a stand out. Code ERICA15 will get ya 15% off!
This would be another pretty option for a beachier, more casual summer wedding; I’m imagining it worn literally barefoot on the beach, and it’s dreamy! Comes in another color option, too.
You can never go wrong with a fit n’ flare. Lovelovelove the scallop neckline on this one. Seriously, SUCH a good option – it’s still in stock in 11 color options, and it’s on sale for 40% off right now, making it $26!!!!!
Leopard print, because duh. 😉 I thought this neckline strap situation was unique, and it’s a subtle-enough print to not feel too bold. I have a discount code again here: ERICA15 for 15% off!
Another $100 option on sale for 50% off! Bless. The straps on this dress are so cool, I think – I lovelovelove the cutout detailing. And a good lacey overlay is never a problem! If you want a red dress without fiesta emoji girl vibes, or without being the girl in the red dress, or this one is for you.
Another cool option that it’s my own cart, too! This dress just strikes me – it’s unlike anything I’ve seen before. Just something about it! I lovelovelove the vertical stripes – vertical stripes elongate your figure, making you look taller. The single ruffle/peplum situation on the bottom is so cool, and I am obsessed with how it shows off your shoes. A great option for a more conservative affair, without losing the fun factor!
Will you be needing any summer wedding guest dresses in your closet this season?
Which of the above options is your favorite?
