Katie here! I feel like Erica and I say this every time it comes to the end of the month CURoundup (it’s because we do…ha!), but I cannot believe we are going into May next week. I’m so looking forward to warmer weather, sunny days, and lots of outdoor time with Henry (my little guy)! Highly recommend all of the past month’s THRIVE podcast episodes (all listed below) – these were some of my most favorite episodes to date!

APRIL’S PODCAST EPISODES:
1.) Pain-fueled Purpose: Finding Yourself (+ Hope) Again after Tragedy – with Tasha Wilson – If you’ve experienced tragedy, it can be hard enough getting through it – let alone seeing past it to hope on the other side. And if you’ve experienced more hardship after that, it can feel like you need a personal guide to get through the darkness to see light again. Today on THRIVE, Tasha Wilson may be that guide. She experienced so much grief, shame, and fear after being hit with unexpected tragedy as a teenager, but she was able to get from a place to a posture of promise and now helps other women do the same. This episode does come with a trigger warning for sexual assault, so if you’re feeling more sensitive to the topic today, feel free to choose a different episode of THRIVE.
2.) How to Authentically Become your Most Confident Self – with Clarissa Burt – You know something? You actually CAN’T be anything you want to be in life. And that’s truly, totally A-OK. In today’s episode, Clarissa Burt gives you a boost of reality to boost your confidence levels, to help you find YOUR wish that is unique to your heart, your gifts, and your desires and dreams. Clarissa is an internationally renowned multimedia producer, award-winning actress, motivational speaker, radio and TV personality and supermodel who just added another title to her resume: author. Her new book The Self-Esteem Regime: An Action Plan for Becoming the Confident Person you were Meant to Be is full of down-to-earth advice to help women develop more confidence in literally every area of their lives: relationships, family, friendships, career, and the everyday. She also volunteers as an ambassador for DomesticShelters.Org, an organization that helps find domestic violence shelter services and programs in the US and Canada. In this conversation you’ll grab some helpful tips to take on your own confidence journey – because we’re all always works in progress – so that you can release what might be holding you back, take responsibility for your own role in your own life, and rebuild your present to create a future that you love.
3.) The Art of Difficult Conversations – with Angie Colee – Angie Colee might be one of the most interesting people you’ll ever meet – also, one of the kindest. But just because she’s got a big heart doesn’t mean she can’t shoot you straight – and just because she can speak truth doesn’t mean it’s not kind. Today, we’re talking all about the art of difficult conversations, of which Angie is a true professional. After having her world turned upside down, she picked up and became a nomadic traveler, living in a different place, state, even country for a month at a time. In our conversation today, we talk about learning how to reframe your story to successfully shift your perspective when necessary without feeling fake or invalidating feelings. We talk about how to physically pivot your life sails in a different direction, and of course, we talk about how to have hard, tough, super freaking difficult conversations – Angie even shares a specific formula to break them down so that you can take it into your next one with a bit more grace and a bit less anxiety.
4.) Listen to this if you’re feeling Overloaded or Overwhelmed – with Lily Allen-Duenas – Have you been feeling overwhelmed? Overloaded? Stressed AF? You’re in the right place. Lily Allen-Duenas is an international yoga teacher, meditation guide, and holistic health and wellness coach; she is especially fabulous at helping overwhelmed folks (like you! Like me!) reduce emotional overload and find balance, breath, and space for self-care. (Bless up). Today on THRIVE, Lily breaks down breathwork and how (and why!) it works, scientifically. We talk about stopping the downward spirals in their tracks, and pressing pause in our digitally charged, perpetually stimulated worlds to re-gain peace, calm, and center in our beings and bodies. Lily also leads us through an awesome mindful meditation during this episode, so you’ll leave feeling SO much better and lighter than you came.
