When hosting a holiday meal, I like to mix + match new tableware with old for a sentimental feel. For the new, I include a few pieces from Mackenzie Childs.
The most special thing to me about this holiday table is how we incorporated meaning in small details. The Pfaltzgraff plates are part of a set I inherited from my paternal grandma. It always feels like she's here with us when we use them!
It was love at first sight when I saw the Courtly Check line from Mackenzie Childs, but it's pricey so I could never justify buying the entire line. Instead, I pick up one or two pieces seasonally to grow my collection.
Not only is it realistic, I think it's so special to mix the old with the new and combine family heirlooms with newer, trendier pieces.
Another special touch: the gold leaves and sparkly gold gauze are leftover from our wedding!
The faux-floral hurricanes were under $10 a piece at Walmart! I just added pillar candles.
The wine glasses were a housewarming gift from my parents.
Our holiday table feels equal parts eclectic and classic with warm tones and cozy elements. It feels like family.
