(Only $20!!!! Also available here – It’s the cutest swing cut, comes in a few colors, and is only 20 bucks. It’s got a zipper on the back + POCKETS (!!!)…really, ya can’t go wrong with it! I sized up to a M since I’ve got longer legs and wanted it to be a bit longer rather than shorter.) // Rockstud pumps (These are near-PERFECT lookalikes for the cult classic Valentino Rockstud pumps, but for around $113 instead of $995. #ThankMeLater. I stayed TTS!)
Hollah, Friday! It’s been a *week*. I’m currently in le Big Apple with my mentor, so it’s been a jam-packed two days of talking shop, strategizing #AllTheThings + drinking too much coffee. TBH, I had about 3 other posts started before settling on this one for today. Namely cos I currently have 8 shopping tabs open, and New York Fashion Week is on everyone and their mom’s mind. HA JK, it’s on no minds. Except mine. Because I like to start procrastinating on some things by obsessively planning others. This is normal, right? HA.
Either way, NYFW is just over a week away, and the hottest of hothothot for fall will be debuting on runways across crowded showrooms and stuffy Manhattan floors. I’ve got a closet full of clothes that are perfectly fine, but of course, any excuse to pick up a few new things amiright? 😉
Since I’m in the shopping spirit (#RealTalk, when am I NOT in the shopping spirit???), I thought it’d be fun to share 30 dresses under $30 that work for, well, WORK! Work dresses are typically not something we all jump up and down excited about buying, cos they’re usually not the most exciting things to buy AND they’re not the cheapest. No bueno. I got on a hunt to find work dresses that don’t break the bank, but work not just for work, but play, too. Granted, depending on where you work, obviously dress code may or not come into play, or the overall appropriateness of a cutesy dress in the workplace might be of concern. So of course, take it with a grain o’ salt (+ a margarita on the side). First up, the dress I’m wearing here – a total favorite. It’s the cutest swing cut, comes in a few colors, and is only 20 bucks. It’s got a zipper on the back + POCKETS (!!!)…really, ya can’t go wrong with it! I sized up to a M since I’ve got longer legs and wanted it to be a bit longer rather than shorter.
Dresses just rock, cos they’re the easiest thing to literally slip on n’ go, and it’s a whole outfit in one. Bam. Zero thinking (basically), easy peasy, cute as heck, bing bang boom, always a win. Is it just me, or does it feel like every dress under the sun right now is either skin tight, cut out all over, or basically showing a hooha? All I want is a dress I can wear our with my girlfriends or on a date with J without while also not feeling embarrassed to wear in front of my Nana. The struggle is real, yo! So, after spending way too much time “researching,” I narrowed it down to 30 that *might* work for work, but will also just work for life if you’re not really feelin’ the here-are-my-boobs-and-here-is-my-hooha-and-here-is-my-booty vibe that a lotta dresses got goin’ on anymore. Maybe I’m just a grandma. I mean, I’m gunning for pre-9:30 bedtime tonight, so… 😉
AND all are under $30, so ya can justify getting a couple instead of having to narrow it down to just one (cos ain’t nobody got time for that).
Some personal favorites:
- – it’s on sale for $20 from Nordstrom in their end-of-summer sale. The length and fit keeps it work-appropriate, while the cold shoulder detail makes it trendy + fun enough for happy hour after.
- is from Target – it’s less than $28 AND part of a BOGO deal happening now. So you can add TWO to cart. 😉
- I’m really feelin’ the asymmetrical vibe lately (can it PLEASE replace off-the-shoulder????), and is the cutest for work AND play. I just ordered it – it’s only $22!
ALSO, I recently updated my sidebar widgets, as well as this tab – so if you ever wanna know what’s in my cart right now, head there!
Where is your favorite place to find work dresses under $30?
SO STOKED for this weekend…one of my best friends in le world (hi, Christina) + her hubby are roadtripping to hang out with J + I for the long weekend, and this girl is SO DANG READY for solid girl time, double date time, and just good ol’ QT. Living states away from besties is hard. Thank the sweet Lord baby Jesus for friends who are willing to go the distance (quite literally) to laugh, eat, and drink wine in person. It’s the little things, y’all.
Cheers to the friggin’ weekend.
