COOL SH*T I LOVELOVELOVE – Monthly Favorites, February 2024

This day only comes around about once every 1460 days…HAPPY LEAP YEAR (slash day?), FOLKS! While January felt like an eternity, February flew in true February fashion, and now March is TOMORROW. I mean, might as well put out the pumpkins and deck the halls because Christmas is basically around the corner already. 😉 This month was hard in a lot of ways behind the scenes, but also so, so sweet. More to come. 🙂 But first, some Cool Sh*t…

1.) Abercrombie loose jean

This millennial has been slowly (but surely) breaking up with her skinny jeans. Now, normally I’m not one to follow trends too closely and couldn’t really care less what runways say – if I like it, I wanna wear it. But I’ve also been slowly (but surely) trying my hand (err – legs) at other trending denim. Some…I hate. Like these.

But some I lovelovelove.

And these are the latter. They’re loose but not too loose – so they’re comfortable, versatile, and wearable in everyday life. I can dress them up or down easily, and I also really, really like this wash (it’s called “Medium Marble”).

P.S. Don’t mind the covered bit on the first iPhone shot…the text crew will know what that’s all about soon enough. 😉 Text CURowd to 55444 to get the scoop first!!!

2.) Incommon leave-in repair (25% off code: EricaL25)

There’s little I lovelovelove more than a solid before-and-after. I started testing a new leave-in treatment this month – the below snapshots were taken right before my shower (the left) and then the next morning before styling (the right).

I MEAN COME ON.

What?!? Mind you, I was also about eight months overdue for a salon visit. My curiosity was piqued because the directions on the bottle say to NOT use conditioner after shampooing; just use this stuff on towel-dried hair, and it supposedly repairs hair in literally one use.

I messaged the brand on Instagram and they so kindly passed along code EricaL25 for you to get an extra 25% off your own because I think we all need this magic stuff in our arsenal. (I believe it’s also still on sale and my code STACKS, so the savings here is unreal…absolutely worth grabbing a bottle to give it a go yourself!)

3.) Liv’s Bible storyteller

If you need an Easter gift for your little, look no further!

I bought this for Olivia for Valentine’s Day thinking/hoping it would be like a Jesus-fied Tonie box (since she freaking loveloveLOVES her Tonie and listens to it every single night before bed!). Sure enough – it is! It’s a little travel-friendly Bible storyteller and song player; they can spin the dial to a story and push the button to play (similarly, slide the slider and press down for a song). Each story has its accompanying book so that they can read the story while listening.

If your kid is of reading age, awesome. If not just yet, no problem – the storyteller dings when it’s time to turn the page, so they can still follow along with the pictures or even words and still have the full experience.

10/10 recommend.

4.) Our Place oven pan/griddle

Hands down, our most-used pan and favorite piece of kitchenware. This oven pan in particular is perfect for pancakes, eggs…literally anything stovetop.

BUT, it’s also part of the “ovenware” set because it’s all oven-safe, chemical-free, and non-toxic, so you can absolutely do a sheet pan recipe on it for dinner, etc! The Gwynns are *picky* when it comes to pots and pans because J is basically a chef and has a borderline obsession with his cookware – ha!

5.) Daisy cottage cheese with fruit

You might remember our chats last summer-ish about finding actually yummy ways to enjoy cottage cheese. It’s not exactly everyone’s favorite plain – ha! I actually found these little pre-packed options at Lidl and grabbed a few to try since they’re not loaded with additives etc…and man, they’re delish. 14g of protein in each little pack, and the fruit make it SO much yummier! I eat one for a fast breakfast at least twice a week now, and I started buying the bigger tubs of cottage cheese and just making it myself with fruit preserves to save a few bucks.

6.) Amazon look-for-less bag

You know I’m all about a good look for less – and this bag is THE LOOK for less! It’s such a stunning bag for spring – great size, beautiful braiding and detailing, fabulous feel, magnetic closure and a divider inside for organization…and it looks literally identical to this $4,000+ designer bag.

7.) Kirkland cashew clusters

We’re such suckers for Costco – these Kirkland brand cashew clusters are a CLUTCH snack in our house for good protein with crunch. They don’t last long!

8.) Curie natural deodorant + body spray

My journey to ~cleaner~ deodorant has been a journey. Namely because natural deodorant doesn’t exactly have a reputation for actually WORKING. Antiperspirants are so much more popular usually because they work so much better, but they also have aluminum inside, which has been potentially linked to an increased risk of breast cancer, etc. Of course, I’ve been trying to find a good alternative. I’ve discovered along the way that my body (or I guess specifically my armpits? Ha!) doesn’t like baking soda in deo, so any natural formula with that ingredient has caused irritation and instant burning. No bueno.

This brand, though, sent a few of their clean/non-toxic products my way to test out (thank you, Curie!), and I’ve been using the deodorant for a few months now…and IT WORKS, Y’ALL. IT WORKS. I don’t have to reapply during the day and the “coconut nectar” smell is great…can absolutely see why it’s a bestseller.

The Full body deodorant spray is great, too; it’s also a clean, non-toxic, aluminum-free formula with no residue, made to absorb sweat and give you an overall freshening up. The White Tea scent is SO light and clean-smelling…truly refreshing.

I didn’t know this was actually a Shark Tank brand – I’m a fan!

9.) Inn Beauty glaze lip oil

I’m in my lip oil era! For MONTHS now, the primary product I’ve been throwing in my bag or reaching for on the go is a good lip oil, above any sortof chapstick or balm. There’s just something about a hint of color and a deeply hydrating, not sticky, but thicker-than-lipgloss formula that feels so, so good on your lips – and they LAST!

These are fun, have great flavor, and I feel good about letting Olivia share. 😉

10.) Pressed juices/soft freeze

…I’m also in my cold pressed juice era. 🙂 Man oh MAN what I would do for a good cold pressed juice – I might as well start juicing in my kitchen at this point. We stumbled upon this place in our mall food court and the lady was SO kind – she let us sample literally every single juice flavor. Welp, it worked – we bought a whole case to take home and had finished it that week.

Beyond juice, they had these soft “freezes” in person that were essentially, vegan, dairy-free soft serve…it was phenomenal. PHENOMENAL. Some of the best “soft serve” I’ve ever tasted ever…will 100% be back and ordering more.
