This month was a blue – a hot, sticky, sweaty blur. From the launch of the THRIVING collection to the buzz of the NSALE to traveling nearly every weekend, from the Jersey Shore to St. Louis to Newport, it’s been one heckuvah hectic summer. I’m here for it – but also here for a rest. 😉
One final favorite to note – the graphic tees I found in this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale were bomb dot com – but are still, unfortunately, sold out. I didn’t want to include as one of the ten monthly favorites if you couldn’t grab any for yourself since that’s approximately zero fun, but didn’t want to be remiss in not mentioning their wonderfulness. So. Consider it a bonus Cool Sh*t. 😉 Here’s a few similar options if you want the look for less:
Moment of truth: I never thought I was cool enough for high tops. When my mom and I went kabitzing around Nordstrom for the kickoff of the Anniversary Sale, I tried them on a whim and – spoiler alert – they’re the coolest things ever. Not to mention, SO SURPRISINGLY COMFORTABLE. I say “surprisingly” because if you’re a Converse fan like me, you probably know they’re known for being pretty flat – not my personal favorite for heavier days on my feet. But these – THESE. These feel like walking on clouds. I kid you not, I keep accidentally calling them “Cloud Converse” as if that’s what they’re actually named – ha!
They’ve got cushioned soles and a slight platform, and I’ve been reaching for them nearly daily since taking them home. Also comes in black! I recommend sizing down 1/2.
Such a FABULOUS wireless bra!!! I’ve been singing its praises from the rooftops since picking up one to try on Amazon Prime Day, and now they’re on sale for even less than I paid then! This bra is now tied in my brain with my Soma Enbliss, so you know it’s serious business. It’s more of a lightweight, buttery soft Spandex feel so it sticks to your body a bit better than the Soma – although the Soma’s padding is a bit thicker. This one has removable padding + convertible straps to turn it into a racerback, too, which I lovelovelove. I’m normally a 34B and wear size Small in these, so go by the sizing chart because I’d say it’s accurate!
I grabbed another in the NSALE since it’s such a great price – normally $44, currently down to $28.90!
If these don’t make you smile… 🙂 Not the highest quality slippers, but they make me happy and they support a small shop!
I am ABSURDLY STOKED about this next favorite – namely because it’s like my own dream come true. Tula’s latest launch is a hydrating eye balm as part of their 24/7 hydration family (which includes their bestselling Day/Night cream, which is one of my all-time favorite moisturizers!). Now I am SO SO PICKY with undereye creams and balms, namely because most straight up don’t work for me.
Most make my skin burn or cause some sortof weird reaction – even with ingredients that the rest of my face loveloveloves. I have no clue why other than apparently that undereye eye is particuarly sensitive for me? Whatever.
Point being – this stuff actually works. It feels INCREDIBLE on my undereye and is soft + hydrating, with ZERO REACTIVITY praise the Living God.
Not to mention, it’s got a ton of fabulous ingredients inside to help not just with hydration, but with anti-aging and puffiness, too: squalane, caffeine, apple, watermelon (for hydrating, firming, + improving the look of puffiness), as well as cocoa seed extract (for antioxidant protection) and peptides AND collagen (for reducing the look of fine lines/wrinkles).
Friends, I am shooketh. You know I’ve been a big believer in the rose eye balm for daytime wear with or without makeup for hydrating/brightening/cooling – this is a DIFFERENT product that I wear overnnight for that heavier hit of hydration + anti-aging.
Could not recommend more – I’m so impressed so far, and I’ve been testing it out for a few weeks now. It’s normally $38, but get it for $32.30 with code COMINGUPROSES.
Victoria Emerson wrap bracelets
You know I’ve been a VE wrap bracelet lover for years now – my latest two treat yo’self wraps are no exception. I picked up this pretty crystal wrap as a pretty neutral option, and this one with neon beads for a fun summer statement.
The bracelets are actually so easy to get on yourself – even one-handed – and have three different hole options to adjust to your perfect fit. They’re comfortable for all-day wear and don’t get in the way, and they won’t break if your baby chews on them – which I know from firsthand experience. HA.
A pretty NSALE find! This had been on my wishlist, but when my mom and I found them in store we were even more impressed than what they looked like online. They’re just so dainty + pretty and fabulous quality for the price. We each bought our initials AND we grabbed one for Olivia to gift her for her birthday since she’s so into a.) matching and b.) accessorizing. Start ’em young!
Bonus: They come in gold AND silver chains, so you can get whichever finish ya fancy. 😉
Kiehl’s ferulic brew facial essence
This was a new-to-me product that I received in PR and figured what the heck – I’d give it a try. Essences were one product not previously in my already-lengthy skincare routine, but I’d heard rave reviews about a.) essences and b.) this product specifically. I mean, it’s a 5-star rated product with a whole lineup of benefits, so figured it couldn’t hurt…and here we are!
Why do you need an essence in your skincare routine? In short, because they help your serums + moisturizers work better. Essences are formulated to really prime your skin best for the serums’ absorption; serums are meant to be purposeful and targeted for what your skin specifically needs at any given point (ie, more vitamin C, more moisture, more anti-aging support, etc), and essences are applied right before serums in the correct order to apply your skincare products.
It’s a 99% natural formula with ferulic acid, lactic acid, + squalane that works to smooth and even your skin’s texture and tone, reduce fine lines, provide antioxidant protection, and leave you glowing. No parabens, sulfates, mineral oils, etc – but what might be most impressive are their clinical test results. In a consumer study of 60 subjects:
- 92% agree skin looks hydrated
- 92% agree skin looks rejuvenated
- 90% agree skin felt smoother
- 88% agree skin texture looks refined
- 87% agree skin looks healthier
- 85% agree skin looks more even toned
I mean…SO GOOD, amiright?! I’m impressed, I’m loveloveloving this stuff, and I will say a little bit goes a LONG way – I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and it looks like I’ve barely made a dent in my bottle so far!
NSALE: Dr. Scholl’s
Your girl is a big big BIG Dr. Scholl’s girl. As in, I think I’ve got no less than 10 pairs at this point?! They’re just the MOST comfortable non-athletic shoe on the block! Fondly dubbed my “Disney World shoe” because they’re the only shoe I’ll wear to the happiest place on Earth. No blisters, no rubbing, no discomfort whatsoever, great support, etc. Since I already had these in my closet, I freaked the freak out when I saw them with shearling in the NSALE! A great way to warm them up for colder weather when you want to get a more casual look in winter without freezing your feet off. I recommend! And then these slip-on mules are similarly great, especially for quick errands, school pickups, etc when you just need to throw something on your feet and dash.
Olivia Rodrigo Sour Album
I didn’t want to like it. Nope. I didn’t want to be singing in the shower to ___ or having deja vu playing on repeat, but HERE WE ARE, FOLKS. I’m into it. I can’t lie to you.
I didn’t want to like it because I wasn’t a fan of the “inspiration” for her songs being from already popular artists + hits, since that felt like a cheaper way to get surefire success and TikTok fame – but also, maybe it was just brilliant? IDK. She’s doing more at 16 than I ever did, so I can’t judge. HA.
Especially after this season’s notorious sunscreen recall – which I swear I got 17 texts or emails or calls about as soon as news broke – I’ve been keen on finding a good, clean, effective, safe sunscreen. Enter, Supergoop. I had received a few Supergoop goodies in PR and hadn’t yet tried this one, but it looked promising enough with rave reviews so I popped it open.
Y’all…it’s great. It’s SPF 50, fast-absorbing, hydrating and NOT greasy, protective against UVA/UVB/IRA rays, prevents photoaging + dehydration (which I didn’t even know sunscreen COULD be formulated to do!), and is water + sweat-resitant for 80 minutes.
I have zero complaints – not a one.
