This week is OCTOBER. My mind is still on the beach since Bachelor in Paradise has been my *jam* the past few weeks, but Lord knows this girl is ready for fall. I mean, I’ve been celebrating + decorating since August. Can ya blame me? 😉 This month’s Cool Sh*t feels like a bit of a random assortment, but I’m here for it and hope you are, too.
1.) Universal Studios/Harry Potter world
This year may be the first that I got to cross off an actual bucket list item: watch all of the Harry Potter movies in a row and then go to Harry Potter World in Florida. Ha! But really, it was on the official bucket list, because it just felt like a fun time ahead. Spoiler alert: it was.
J + I hit up Universal Orlando Resort, Universal Studios, + the Wizarding World of Harry Potter for a little long weekend getaway to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary. It was SO fun. 2.) Amazon cardigan
The weather this past week alone was weird – one day the high was 77 and the low was 50. So like…maybe a sundress, maybe a sweater, who knows anything goes. For days like that, layers are key – and this lightweight, affordable cardigan was an Amazon find that I’ve had on repeat. If you’re in want/need of a nice fall neutral, there are quire a few colors that aren’t bright pink. 😉 For not even $25, it’s definitely a good staple for the season and especially great for the office, church, etc!
3.) Daily Ritual black bodysuit
I just may be the world’s biggest bodysuit fan. They’re just SO sleek + chic and instantly elevate an everyday outfit. A must-have in my book! I’ve also been a big fan of Amazon’s Daily Ritual brand since its debut; quite a few of my squishy soft + stretchy dresses are by that label, and they’re a truly perfect material and fit to dress up OR down, at a fabulous price point. This bodysuit is a WINNER – it’s the exact same beloved fabric in bodysuit form, and it’s got a FULL COVERAGE BOOTY! And the ladies said amen. I don’t know about you, but I could do without a thick thong bodysuit up my bum all day long. Yeah? Yeah. 😉 Highly recommend this one!
4.) Downy Infusions in Sparkling Amber and Rose
OMG. The month’s top favorite! You know you’re a grown up when your favorite find of the month is a laundry scent booster. Ha! 😉 But really though. Don’t sleep on this Downy Infusions stuff.
It’s just a scent booster that you toss in your laundry before starting the wash – it’s supposed to provide about 12 weeks of scent from wear until wash. But let me tell you. This stuff smells PHENOMENAL.
Funny story time: J came home from work, switched into workout clothes and head out to the garage for a quick sweat one day last week. I came downstairs and went out to say hi, and when I hugged him…I froze. He smelled…like a goodlooking, bougie woman. I was like WHO THE HECK DO YOU SMELL LIKE BECAUSE IT AIN’T MY PERFUME.
Well my friends – it’s Downy Bliss. It smells like a good looking, bougie woman who shops at Neiman Marcus and has lunch with the ladies and MAN does it smell good. The most impressive thing is how the scent lasts – it’s delightful on clothes, yes, but also SO LOVELY on your sheets, blankets, etc. I should own stock in this stuff because I sweat to the sweet Lord Baby Jesus, I will never run out.
5.) Thisworks morning expert wake-up drops
I’ve never been a huge diffuser girl before, namely because I’m such a candle girl and don’t have too many scents going at one time. But I’ve had this little essential oil at my desk for months and smell it every morning for a little pickmeup; it smells so darn good. It’s a 100% pure oil blend of rosemary, peppermint, + lavandin oils and is absolutely something worth smelling in a spa. It makes me feel more focused and fresh, and was scientifically formulated to help improve brain function!
This is a sweet little small shop to support! I’m such a fan of the custom name bookstacks; we also have ones that are our names (jamie, erica, olivia), but I love this one for the family, too. You can add pet names, symbols, etc and really get a personalized stack that fits your family. GREAT housewarming or hostess gift idea!
These pumpkins are SO PRECIOUS. They come in the little three-pack for under $20, but they’re especially great if you’ve got kids or pets and don’t want breakable ceramic everywhere for the holidays. They’re a hard shell interior but soft fabric exterior, so they’re not breakable (but also not squishy like a pillow, if that makes sense). The glittering thread is a chic touch; they make great little shelf additions wherever you’re feeling fall!
8.) Madison Reed Color Bar
This is always a fave of mine for quick color touch-ups! I popped in to get an all over color treatment + blow out before our family pictures since mama had greys and roots to cover up. 😉 Here’s how it went! 9.) Chocolate glazed donut coffee
This stuff is BOMB DOT COM. Has been our favorite coffee at home as of late – for months. Always stocked – just has great flavor without being too “mocha” since chocolate coffee can often go that route, from my experience.
10.) Virgin River
I finally got on the Virgin River bandwagon and OMG what was I missing?! I see why it’s been a top Netflix show for, like, ever. It’s like if a Hallmark movie was stretched out into a series with more dramatic, intense plot points. It’s like a little feel good escape, and now I totally want to live in a gorgeous rural small town with one bar and one general store where everyone knows everyone.
Thank the sweet Lord baby Jesus it was renewed for seasons 4 + 5 because mama needs more!!!
