15 Transitional Pieces from Amazon for a Fall Capsule Wardrobe

*HI FRIENDS! ICYMI, I’ve been dealing with a bout of pneumonia this month, so I’ve been a bit off of my blog game. In the hopes of still bringing you some helpful, fun content, I’m re-surfacing this post with some Amazon favorites for a fall capsule wardrobe, since the first sentence from last year still rings true – transitional pieces and fall outfit ideas are all the rage and in demand now! *Adds to cart* – happy Amazoning!

One of the *hottest* requests in my DMs lately has been for transitional pieces and fall outfit ideas as we make the switch between seasons. It may still be 92 degrees outside in Pennsylvania, but pumpkin spice is back so Lord knows it’s time. Since I spent 2.5+ hours on a 60 second Instagram reel (LOL), I figured it was worth spending a few more hours throwing everything into one handy dandy blog post to make filling your cart as easy as possible. Also, since pieces can go in and out of stock relatively quickly on Amazon, I figured adding a few more for good measure with extra notes on sizing etc would be worthwhile. 😉 This fall capsule wardrobe features a solid mix of pieces that can be worn both now AND later, layered, mixed and matched. Everything is under $50, too, so I hope it proves to be a helpful resource as you pick up a few new pieces and have fall outfit ideas brewing in your brain. 🙂

If you’ve got a wedding or special event on the fall calendar, this $30 smocked dress is a stunner. The leopard print keeps things fun while being a neutral color palette, the smocking is insanely flattering (+ comfortable!), and the ruffles are a super fun detail. Makes ya bum look FIERCE, but the midi length still feels modest…an all around fabulous find!

This swingy scoopneck t-shirt is SO GOOD – I’m wearing it as we speak! It’s that gloriously squishy-soft, wrinkle-free fabric that I just adore, and it comes in quite a few solid colors besides this classic stripe. For not even 15 bucks, it’s a steal.

These shiny black leggings give the look of Spanx faux leather leggings – for SO much less! At only $26, they’re a fall capsule wardrobe must. They’re not as thick as the Spanx and obviously not the same sortof compression, but if you’re going for just the LOOK for less – they absolutely fit the bill. While I wear them casually (+ styled them quite a few ways in the Instagram Reel), they’re actually sold as workout wear – so you can multi-purpose them in your own closet, as well!

While the sleeveless midi version styled in my Reel is currently unavailable, the exact same label makes a t-shirt dress in the exact same material/color which I ALSO have + wore last week on the ‘gram. They’re really the ultimate t-shirt dresses…I don’t think I’ve ever met a Daily Ritual piece that I didn’t lovelovelove. So comfortable, so squishy soft, so flattering, so versatile…and SO AFFORDABLE!!!

ALRIGHT I ADMIT IT – I have a bit of a jean jacket obsesssion. Initially I was on the fence about this once; could an attached sweatshirt hood be versatile? Turns out, SURE CAN! This definitely has a more casual vibe, but I’m here for it.

Talk about a now-and-later headturner! This bodycon midi dress is what dreams are made of, from the figure-flattering fit to the high leg slit. Whether you’re rocking it with sneakers (like I did this week) or pairing with booties + a jacket or cardigan as temps cool down, it’s a fun one. I have it in dark charcoal for this season but fully plan on snagging in lavender or lime for next spring!

I first saw this dress styled with Golden Goose sneakers, and I instantly added to cart. It was so unexpectedly cute and surprisingly versatile for a leopard print midi dress. A great now-and-later piece since you can easily layer with your favorite suede or denim jacket, add a fun fall hat, or rotate between heels, mules, or booties for totally unique looks.

This was a more recent Amazon purchase and I’m already so glad I grabbed it. It’s a well-made, not-too-hot staple that’s long enough to wear over leggings since it covers your bum. #BlessUp. The gold was a fun, fall-friendly pop of color, and the knit is soft!

This cozy fleece with buffalo plaid details feels like a hug from a blanket. The snaps are fun since you can raise the neckline if/when it gets freezing, and the pockets are functional! Runs TTS and is under $27 – also comes in black, too!

Any fall capsule wardrobe needs a good plaid flannel. It’s just a given! This one isn’t the highest quality – it’s definitely scratchier than the absurdly soft one I bought during the NSALE. But it’s less than half the price, comes in lots of colors, and may very well soften up after being washed with some fabric softener (that’s going to be my approach – TBD!).

Many of the next few pieces weren’t featured in my Instagram Reel but are clutch transitional pieces for a fall capsule wardrobe nonetheless! This denim shirtdress is a great one to pair with booties + a hat while it’s still warm enough for bare legs. I recommend sizing up one!

Fur-lined mules are a fabulous transitional piece since you get the look + feel of open mules with the added warmth of faux fur. Even if not for actual warmth but the cozy LOOK, they’re definitely comin’ in clutch!

A good fall hat is something I would personally never splurge on since they’re not exactly something I’m grabbing for daily, but they’re cute enough to try on your next fall frolic!

I sized up one in this chambray shirt in the Reel and wore it open for something different! Obviously you can button up to wear as a shirt, or size up a few if you’re wearing over the faux leather leggings as more of a shirtdress. SUPER soft material that doesn’t really feel like denim at all, FYI! It’s much lighter weight.

This is a recent Amazon order of mine – so recent that it hasn’t even come in yet! So while I can’t speak firsthand to quality yet, I can definitely say it’s HELLA CUTE and hella on brand for the season.

I bought this striped sweater last year and loveloveLOVE – it’s truly fabulous! It’s made really well and a nice soft chunky knit – one I would repurchase in another color stripe, too, because it’s only $29 but would easily be $70+ at a boutique!

A trendy piece that I’m 100% here for – leopard? Denim? Sign a sistah up! I’m excited to play around with styling this, from wearing it as a shirt like styled on the model to layering it over a boydsuit for a more oversized vibe.

This isn’t the highest quality sweater out there. I’d say a bit more of what you’d “expect” from a $24 Amazon sweater, if that makes sense – a fine find, but not my favorite. In hindsight, I would’ve sized up one since it fits to the T if you go true to size!

This dress is a FUN find – definitely a good now-and-later option. The high slit is fun and highlights your favorite booties, the fit is figure-hugging (+ so flattering!), and you can layer it well as the temps cool down.
