Valentine’s Day Style, Two Ways

I’m feelin’ the looooove…are you? As if you need reminding, V-Day is almost upon us. Whether you’re gearing up for a romantic date night for two, one, or seven (galentine’s! woot woot!), it’s about time you start planning the weekend’s festivities. My own Valentine’s Day style changes year-to-year depending on plans…sometimes dressing up is in order, and other times, yoga pants and a top knot is where it’s at. Being in the Northeast, it’s FA-REEEEEZING right about now, so I styled two love-worthy outfits to try and work around sub-zero wind chills. Nothing but a parka and sweats truly does the trick for this weather, but if you’re trying to play dress up and doll up for your honey (+ yourself! Look good for yourself!), these looks should suffice.

Ruffle Top: c/o Aro & Company (Under $16 with code: AROSTYLE) // Scalloped Pencil Skirt: c/o Aro & Company (code: AROSTYLE for 10% off) // Heels: c/o Mint Julep Boutique // Necklace: c/o Fascino Boutique (sold out, but others here)

This entire shebang feels so chic and feminine, so I’m in love. I went with an all-neutral palette so that my burgundy necklace and pop-of-pink lip both popped. The ruffle and flair of the top adds an interesting and unexpected flair to the outfit since it lays over the snugger fit of the skirt. And this skirt – a scalloped pencil skirt is just a win for any skirt-worthy occasion in my book.

For le next outfit, this lacey red dress is one of my favorites because it’s a.) so comfortable and soft, and b.) was $12.99. Yup, can’t beat that. I love the open lace top, because it adds such a sexy, pretty twist without being in-your-face. I’m a wine fan, too, (in every sense here, people), and I think it’s a bit more nighttime-ready compared to a brighter fire-engine red.

This particular dress was #fabfound at Marshall’s, but I’ve linked a few similarly priced options at the end of this post for last minute Valentine’s Day style shopping!

Since mine isn’t available online, I figured I’d hook you lovely ladies up with some other affordable options. Because sharing is caring!

A big thank you to my Valentine for stepping in as photog. We talked about why I don’t want a fairytale love the other day, and so many of you are in the same boat. This guy is the embodiment of why I would choose real life love any day. My original plan for shooting these looks was derailed when he came home late from work – the sun was already down. #WinterStruggles. Instead, he offered to head into work today a little late so that we could shoot first thing in the morning with the sunrise. WHAT A GEM. J, be my forever Valentine? Alright, no more mush. 😉
