OUR BABY SPRINKLE + BIG SIS SHOWER

Oh boy…lil’ man is coming! Our baby sprinkle/shower was this past weekend, and it was the loveliest little celebration of baby boy to be. 🙂 From the start, I knew I wanted to have the OG be involved throughout the day; she’s old enough to understand pretty much everything about what’s happening + what’s coming, so hyping her up as big-sister-to-be was always part of the plan. I wasn’t sure at first how much I would need already being 4.5 years into this whole motherhood gig…but turns out, a lot changes in 4.5 years, and I actually did/do have a whole bunch of refreshing + re-stocking to do on pretty much all fronts. Between the age gap AND gender difference for our kiddos, it made sense to do a little something; we went with “let’s sprinkle the mom + shower big sis!” on our invitations so that it could be a solid mix of essentials on the registry, and a few goodies to help Liv get in the “big sis” spirit. 🙂 (A full blog post on what I registered for for Baby #2 + what you all recommended for seconds is coming soon, so stay tuned!)

Wouldn’t have wanted to do the day with anyone else – our girl had a blast and was darling (+ hilarious) throughout, and it was one of the most fun showers I’ve experienced (no bias there, my mom threw it 😉 ) where we almost got kicked out of the venue for having too many games and going over time. HA.

Shoutout to these gems for flying cross country to celebrate baby boy with me. They’re the definition of MVPs, and it’s always such blessed bliss when we get to actually be together in person!

Shoutout to these shoes – I am obsessed. (As noted in April’s Cool Sh*t I Lovelovelove – they’re so, so good!). I was worried before ordering that they wouldn’t work if they weren’t comfortable or practical, but turns out, they’re all of the above and then some. The straps are like a soft leathery material under the pearls, which doesn’t rub or sweat or slip, so they’re ULTRA comfy. I lovelovelove the big pearls as a subtle – yet versatile – statement shoe, and they were the biggest hit of the bash…I think *everyone* commented on how much they liked my shoes at some point or another throughout the day! 10/10 recommend.

Shoutout to my mama, the fabulous Mimi, who did such a sweet job bringing out little baby boy sprinkle ideas to life + making it a big sis celebration, too. She had SO MANY GAMES planned, which I 100% recommend for making your shower not a snoozefest. Let’s be real – baby showers aren’t exactly known for being a blast. LOL. It can feel kindof awkward watching people open gifts that they registered for that feel less-than-thrilling (three boxes of Huggies?? WOOHOOOO!!!), so we knew from the start we wanted to keep everything very fun + fresh. I made a fun themed playlist (which was BOMB if I do say so myself… 😉 Feel free to follow/save it on Spotify for your own baby shower if you dig it!) and Mimi planned very lively games that kept everyone laughing. 🙂 She also planned enough prizes so that literally everyone had the chance to win something, which is always a sweet touch to a party.

REUNITED AND IT FEEEELS SO GOOD! Loveloveloved having Katie there – recognize her dress? 😉

We kept favors “on theme” and really wanted something that was equal parts fun + practical, that everyone could really enjoy. Sprinkle donuts felt like a sure success…they go a long way in our house at least! We literally ordered the $1 cake donuts from our local grocery store bakery, and they are so so yum – then just packaged in little clear bags with a personalized sticker (from a small shop!) on top to say THANKYOU!

For centerpieces, Mimi popped a bottle of bubbly in a bucket – easy peasy, and we had the OG draw names for each table for the lucky winner. “Pop it when she pops!” is a cute way to make it baby shower specific!

We did all balloons ourselves, too – I have our garland arch tape, pump, and our latest arch find all linked up below. This one in particular was CLUTCH for an easy tabletop decoration; we unfortunately didn’t snap a pic of it, but it’s SO SIMPLE to put together and really uplevels the decor game – and it’s reusable! 10/10.

I think my TOP tip when it comes to baby boy sprinkle ideas, if you can, is to involve the big sibling as much as possible. It truly made the day THAT much more special having everyone be as excited for Olivia’s promotion as our pending arrival, and she was just so stoked to help out with games, gifts, the works. Heck, it’s as big of a life change for them as it is for us, so why not celebrate it! Plus, it was such a sweet moment of her still being my baby, and since she won’t be the littlest for long…cue the tears.

Another thing to note – you do NOT need an event planner or a budget line item to still have an adorable, meaningful baby sprinkle or baby shower. I think it can be easy to get caught up in craziness – especially if you follow folks on Instagram who have whole “teams” of people putting together Pinterest-perfect parties that probably cost thousands upon thousands of dollars in details. Mimi and I threw this shindig ourselves with our closest people, local vendors, and decorations from Amazon. If you’ve got good food, good people, good drinks and good games, you’re bound to have a good time. 😉 So I just wanted to throw it out there with a friendly reminder (because I’m sure you already know!) that what matters most is the love in the room with you that day – the vibes, the prayers, the support. That means more than any fancy cake or expensive decoration ever could, and it will mean a lot more when baby is born, especially. So keep your eyes on that prize, because it’s the most important detail of all. 🙂

Anyhoo!

My exact dress was from this boutique – I bought it right when it launched when I first found out I was pregnant (and I got it in pink, too, before we knew gender…just in case! Ha!), so it’s unfortunately not still in stock. BUT, code ERICA10 will still take 10% off anything else you lovelovelove at the shop, which is actually the boutique that my girl Chels works at – so go hogwild and support shopping small!

Otherwise, I linked everything else I possibly could throughout the post + below in case you’re hunting for baby boy sprinkle ideas, favors, centerpieces, outfits, etc, so I hope it helps. 🙂 There’s also a gender reveal slash baby shower dresses list on my Amazon storefront here for additional inspo!

If you need baby boy sprinkle ideas, or baby shower dresses, favors or more, I hope this helps!

THANKYOU for celebrating our bubs with us + showering us with your prayers and lovelovelove from afar…we can’t wait for his grand debut. 🙂
