Fair warning…I might have to kick it into high gear with a FEW Beauty Empties round-ups in the near future, because somehow I’ve seemed to be emptying ALL THE THINGS at the same time lately?? I’ve got two more bags of bottles at my desk right now to sort + share, so buckle up and stay tuned. Today, we’ve got some bath, body, hair, makeup and more that’s been all used up. So you know what time it is…let’s go through my trash! 😉
NATIVE BODY WASH in CUCUMBER & MINT
I’m a big fan of Native body washes. They’re cleanly formulated and free of any bad stuff (sulfates, dyes, phthalates, etc), made with naturally derived ingredients. Great scents, rich lather, and under $10 at the drugstore. One I’ve re-purchased many times and will continue to re-purchase in the future!
This leaves such a powdery white residue on me. Batiste has never been my personal favorite…it also smells STRONG. But I will say I know people who swear by Batiste, so it’s definitely personal preference for your hair type! Just not my jam – I always have this one and this one on deck.
LIVING PROOF RESTORE SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER
A great duo. I would buy this in the big jug versions! They’re also cleanly formulated – said to reduce 70% of breakage with one wash, leaving hair softer, smoother and healthier. Also detangles nicely. I’ve since re-purchased!
ATHENA CLUB CREAMY BODY WASH (as seen in Cool Sh*t I Lovelovelove here!)
I loveloveloved this body wash. Smelled fabulous, loaded with hydrated, softening and protective ingredients, vitamins, omegas, antioxidants…all clean and transparently labeled. Also, each individual ingredient is scored on the EWG scale.
It’s pricier than a drugstore option, but was worth re-purchasing to me!
COLLEEN ROTHSCHILD MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER
I use micellar water every single day – it’s how I cleanse first thing for a clean canvas. While I do really like this one (and lovelovelove ALL CRB products!), I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily that much better than drugstore micellars to warrant the price tag comparatively. (Although my 20% code will work on it: ERICA20).
It does have a restorative, conditioning formula to make sure it’s not stripping your skin, which I appreciate. But I use micellar mainly for cleansing and have so many follow-up serums, moisturizers etc that I don’t feel like I really need a fancy schmancy $20+ one to get the job done.
TULA WRINKLE TREATMENT DROPS – RETINOL ALTERNATIVE SERUM
I liked this retinol alternative! Nice whether you’re pregnant/nursing or just get irritated by regular retinol. It does have a bit of a thicker/richer consistency for a serum, I think.
PHYSICIANS FORMULA SCULPTING BRONZER
All I’m saying is thank the SWEET LORD BABY JESUS I tested this on my hand before putting it on my FACE. Now I’m going to preface this by saying I’m assuming it got funky from the sun or was otherwise damaged in shipping or on the shelf, because there’s no way this could be NORMAL or intentional. But. When I say it was the most horrible, sticky brown paste that was stuck on my hand for DAYS…I would give negative stars if I could.
FOUND GREEN TEA & APPLE AHA NIGHTTIME GEL
This stuff *might* be discontinued by now…I’m not entirely sure. But I did enjoy it – it’s said to be a 90% natural formula meant to be brightening, naturally exfoliating and smoothing.
MRS. MEYER’S FALL LEAVES HAND SOAP
I loveloveLOVE this hand soap scent for this time of year especially. And formulated pretty well – I re-buy!
BATH HOUSE GOAT MILK BODY BUTTER in HAUTE WATER
This is a random small shop find…while it’s not the richest/thickest body butter, it’s still super hydrating, leaving you with a satin-like finish versus being oily or greast. And this scent specifically just smells FABULOUS to me!
This is probably my FAVORITE retinol alternative cream…it’s a nighttime moisturizer, formulated totally cleanly, with over 3,000 5-star reviews. Great for overnight anti-aging and skin cell turnover!
IT COSMETICS SECRET SAUCE ANTI-AGING MOISTURIZER
No complaints about this moisturizer – it’s a gel-cream texture and clean, vegan, paraben-free formula that leaves a nice light finish. They also have this proprietary technology in it that’s clinically tested to reduce the look of discoloration while giving you a ~glow~…and apparently they worked with plastic surgeons (as well as dermatologists) to make sure the formula gives visible result, which I thought was pretty cool!
LIFE IN LILAC ROLLERBALL in DOWN TO EARTH
These are non-toxic fragrances rollers that I like for their travel-friendly size, and also their unique scent makeup. I can definitely say I haven’t smelled other perfumes quite like them! Nice to throw in your bag on the go.
COLLEEN ROTHSCHILD BUTTER LIP MASK
I lovelovelove this lip mask…comparable to my favorite Laneige overnight treatments! Good ingredients and a rich formula that leaves my lips still feeling hydrated and moisturized when I wake up, which is a must.
NEUTROGENA HYDROBOOST HYDRATING TINT
This does have really great ratings/reviews across the board and was a really nice consistency for a lighter-makeup day. That being said, it’s not rated that greatly on Yuka, and when I want lighter-to-no-makeup days, I’m using my absolute favorite non-toxic/chemical-free tinted SPF (I wear Shade 02!), whose finish I like more anyways!
SKINCEUTICALS SERUM 15 + SKINCEUTICALS PHLORETIN CF GEL
Skinceuticals is a splurge-worthy skincare line sold in many spas…and it definitely gets the job done. They’re known for being super effective, but also super expensive. I really, really like, but it’s not something I re-purchase often given the price tag!
MILANI RASPBERRY PEACH LIP OIL
Was not my favorite lip oil. Wasn’t horrible, but wasn’t as good as I had hoped/expected given what I had heard about it beforehand. Wouldn’t re-purchase…it just was not as good as this one.
COVERGIRL CLEAN FRESH TINTED LIP OIL
Nope. Not it. Not ANYWHERE near as good as this one.
This hand cream was lovely and not greasy BUT didn’t necessarily feel quite as richly hydrating as I like if/when my hands feel dry enough to warrant a cream.
BIOCLARITY ZEN ULTRACALMING SERUM
This serum was good for redness reduction – it’s got soothing botanicals and vitamins inside in a clean, plant-based, non-toxic formula. The price point was nice, too – I’d recommend!
BEAUTYCOUNTER COUNTER+ ALL BRIGHT C SERUM
RIP BeautyCounter. ‘Twas a lovely serum while it lasted!
