Is it just me or did this week FLY by?! Back at it again with the beauty empties – LOTS of goodness in today’s trash, folks. 😉 Here are a handful of bath/body/hair/skin/face products I’ve finished lately!
PANTENE NEVER TELL DRY SHAMPOO
This is actually a reasonable drugstore alternative to my all time fave dry shampoo. (Blogged in a topknot tutorial with the Pantene Waterless Collection!). It’s great for my fellow brunette babes since it brushes out SO well and doesn’t leave a white powdery residue behind. There’s tapioca inside to help with oil absorption, pro-vitamin B5, Omega-9, jojoba oil, and wild mint inside – and NO parabens or sulfates (bless up).
VENOFYE MILK CLEANSER
For the price point of this cleanser, pass. I don’t think it’s made/sold anymore ANYWAYS, but if it were, I’d still say pass. While I lovelovelove other products from this line (reviewed it a few years back!), the cleanser by itself isn’t miraculous.
MARIO BADESCU FACIAL SPRAY with Aloe, Herbs, & Rosewater
Big fan of Mario Badescu facial sprays over here! This one is rejuvenating + clarifying and a cult-favorite…and one I repeat purchase myself. I think rosewater is known for having some redness-lessening properties, which I lovelovelove for spritizing midday. Oil-free, vegan, and sulfate/paraben-free formula, too!
TRAVEL-SIZE MARIO BADESCU FACIAL SPRAY with Aloe, Cucumber, & Green Tea
Retweet the above, but make it mini! This one is slightly different in that the main ingredients are different – but the brand makes a few different options. Easy $5 to keep on hand to refresh tired, dull skin!
TULA BRIGHTEN UP SMOOTHING PRIMER GEL
I’m conflicted here. So, I reaaaaaally like how this lays underneath foundation. It’s a cooling, smoothing, brightening primer gel with yuzu inside, which has 3x the vitamin C of a lemon, AND it’s got probiotics like all Tula products do, making it another multi-purposed product with the makeup AND skincare properties I love. But, mine got kinda weird and crumbly after a bit…not sure if it was just mine or if others do this, too? Towards the end of my tub, it just became so crumbly to put on that it was hard to even manage the product, which ends up wasting a bit. Granted, I think I had one of the initial batches since I did receive a press sample, so maybe that’s improved in later batches? I’d definitely buy another to see if it happens again in case it DOESN’T since I think it does do something fabulous.
(Feel free to drop code COMINGUPROSES at Tula’s checkout anytime for 15% off!)
SECRET DEODORANT/ANTIPERSPIRANT with Green Tea
I’ve been using Secret since the 6th grade, so it’s a tried and true. No complaints here!
OGX SMOOTHING + COCONUT COFFEE SCRUB & WASH
This body wash/scrub gets 10/10!!! I lovelovelove it SO much, I actually always have one now in my shower or on deck for next up. It smells equal parts like a vacation and a coffee shop, which is phenomenal, and it’s got arabica coffee + coconut oil inside. Also is a sulfate free formula!!!
KLORANE DRY SHAMPOO with Oat Milk
This dry shampoo is paraben/sulfate free, vegan, hypoallergenic, etc – formulated with oat milk to help soothe your hair + scalp, and corn and rich starches to cleanse. Apparently, won the Allure Best of Beauty aware 4x. Featured in a dry shampoo roundup post here.
Here are my fave dry shampoo for brunettes!
ANASTASIA BROW WIZ in Chocolate
There’s a reason this stuff is a classic in the beauty community! Truly a great brow pencil.
WET N’ WILD MAX VOLUME MASCARA
Very meh on this mascara. Didn’t stand out to me, wouldn’t repurchase. Not that it wasn’t good…it just wasn’t great, and with so many good affordable mascaras out there that I LOVE, I’d pass on this one. (Get this one instead!)
URBAN DECAY BROW BEATER in Warm Brown
This brow pencil was comparable to the Anastasia in my book. And they’re SO similar in price point, too, so really can’t go wrong either way.
My eyes are SO SENSITIVE to eye creams. I have no clue why or what it is, but I’d say that MOST eye creams cause intense burning/irritation for me anymore where I can’t use them. This one didn’t! Not sure why, and can’t say I saw dramatic change in some way…but I also think something like your undereyes and/or preventative aging formulas are a long game kinda thing anyways. So. Would repurchase since my skin apparently liked the formula.
This is also a really cool brand in general – lots of plant-based products largely derived from natural sources!
ELIZABETH MOTT EYE SHADOW PRIMER
No complaints per se, but wouldn’t purchase over my fave $3 eye primer from the drugstore. Save your dollars!
