COOL SH*T I LOVELOVELOVE – Monthly Favorites, December 2023

I KNOW, I KNOW…where did the time go?! It’s January already, E! Where the heck is Cool Sh*t?!?! Literally no one asked this, but I’m here to tell you NEVER FEAR – Cool Sh*t I Lovelovelove is here! 😉 December’s ten favorites came in hot for the holidays, so we’ve got a few featured Christmas gifts and other fun stuff to kickoff 2024 strong.

Disclaimer: December was joyful and also chaos – so your photos for this collection are quick iPhone snaps at best. Just keepin’ it real…ha! But we’ve got everything from a quick Shark FlexStyle review to OUR NEW FLOORS (!!!) below, so let’s dive into December’s favorites!

1.) Amazon no-show underwear pack

My most clicked link of the month – I just lovelovelove the fact that you lovelovelove no-show undies as much as I do. I will never wear a thong again if I can help it – who WANTS to feel like they’ve got a rubber band halfway to kingdom come when you can just wear these?! Approximately a thousand times comfier with over 13,500+ five star reviews, for just over $3.50 a pair.

They don’t slip, they don’t show, they’re goooooood. Add to cart!

(Excuse the janky screenshot – but I didn’t take pictures of my butt for this. LOL)

2.) Shark FlexStyle

OK OK SO…I had my doubts. I was curious. TikTok had me thinkin’. There was no way I was going to shell out nearly $600 for the Dyson AirWrap, and I’m a Shark girl over Dyson in the vacuum department ANYHOO. The Shark FlexStyle is half the price of the Dyson AirWrap with supposedly the same functionality (but better, according to Shark). So I put it on my wishlist for Santa and HE DELIVERED. 😉 I filmed my first time trying it right out of the box with literally zero preparation or qualifications on this thing, and the results were…incredible.

I’m talkin’ BOMBSHELL blowout look in under 20 minutes, from freshly washed damp hair to donezo and good to go. It saves time, it saves money (if you’re someone who frequents Drybar or the like), it saves your hair from using multiple heat styling tools at a time…and it gives. If you’re unfamiliar, The airwrap technology is like having a curling wand and blow dryer in one; you hold the wand mechanism up behind the piece of air you want to dry + curl, it automatically pulls and wraps it around the barrel, and then you can hit a button to start cooling the curl, setting it, and then release it to have beautiful blowout curls. It’s definitely a different look than my usual curling wand waves – Mimi saw me after I did it and immediately commented on how gorgeous the texture (or lack thereof?) was since it gives you such a smoothed, sleek look.

The pics below are screenshots from a ideo I had running for my first go…for zero practice or preparation and only 15 minutes, I’d say NOT HALF BAD!!!

If you’d be interested in seeing a full Shark FlexStyle review/tutorial/before-after and all that jazz, let me know and I’ll deliver.

3.) Gold ball studs

I have these in a smaller stud size that I wear probably 4x/week? I’m just such a fan of a chic little stud; these are 14K gold 8 mm and don’t tarnish, so you get fantastic wear for the price.

I asked Santa for them in the biggest size to have as a more “statement” stud option, and again THE MAN DELIVERED. Bless you, Santa Claus. Bless you. 😉

I blogged more from this specific brand on Amazon here – they’re great!

4.) Tart dried cherries

This was a Christmas gift from Mimi who was *swearing* by tart dried cherries as a healthier snack to satisfy a sweet craving – and if it says anything, we’ve already finished the bag and ordered 3 more on Amazon. HA. Y’all, these are goooooood. Picture a bigger, chewier, softer craisin? But SO YUMMY. I snack on them plain, mix with Greek yogurt in the morning, or have in a handful with other nuts and such for a homemade “trail mix” option. No added sugar, gluten free, a 100% pure/natural option with lots of antioxidants!

5.) Fisher Price car

This was Jonah man’s “big” gift for Christmas – I wanted to get it for him now so that he could grow with it, and it has turned out to be a FABULOUS decision. First off, it’s adorable. Secondly, it really does grow with them so cutely. Right now he can “sit” in it and play with the different buttons and sounds; since he’s not *quite* fully sitting, we roll a blanket behind him to help keep him upright, but it’s also helping him learn to sit since he wants to lean forward slightly to play.

As they grow, though, it’s meant to allow them to walk around it, put bigger shapes into the cutout holes, and get more into the imaginative play side of it.

It’s a great little car for littlest littles – we recommend!

Didn’t get a great shot of it beyond a few quick Christmas morning snaps, so stay tuned to Stories for a closer look. 🙂

6.) Amazon flare leggings

These were another Amazon bestseller of the month – and for good reason. They’re such a buttery smooth legging, ultra flattering with the v-cut waistband, and rated #1 on Amazon in their category. Also kinda cool, they have different length options! At first I ordered the 32″ not paying attention and had to exchange for the 30″, so just double check your length before ordering! Over 12,000+ five-star reviews know what’s up.

7.) State of Being Presence candle

Not the first time I’ve shared Beth’s incredible candle company, and certainly won’t be the last! (As seen here in Cool Sh*t and here on the THRIVE podcast!). Beth created State of Being after studying the awesome connection between our brains and our sense of smell; if we combine the power of positive affirmations with certain scents, we have the power to make real change in our brains for the better.

I grabbed her Presence candle for the holiday season, and it smells divine – I’ve been using it as a tool while working on a very special, specific (+ secret for now… 😉 ) – it’s so wild how it works. I light the candle and it’s literally like switching gears and signaling to my brain that it’s time to get present and make it happen.

Here are the scent notes if you’re curious…

Cranberry | Infuses your space with a burst of positivity, helping you remain present and focused on the now.

Vanilla Cream | Wraps you in a comforting cocoon, encouraging relaxation and a deeper connection with yourself.

Chestnut | Grounds your energy, fostering inner stability and providing the foundation for mindful presence.

Cardamom | Balances emotions, promoting a sense of inner harmony and peace.

ALSO ALSO Beth’s candles are all clean-burning and NON-TOXIC, BLESS. She so sweetly shared code ERICA for you to get 15% off your candle order! Woo! Makes *such* a good gift, especially how meaningful you can make it with a chosen affirmation for whatever she needs a little boost with in life right about now!

8.) Coop pillow

Another Christmas gift, this one from my brother! These pillows are WILD – they’re memory foam pillows that are adjustable to exactly what and how you sleep. He first got them for our parents, and Mimi is known for having the worst night’s sleep ever. So for her to give her stamp of approval on these and be impressed speaks VOLUMES. We were stoked when he hooked us up, too…and wow. They come with a little instruction guide and extra memory foam floof so that you first fluff and adjust it to what “type” of sleeper you are based on the card. I didn’t dislike the pillows we had before – au contraire, I love those too.

But these do a little somethin’ somethin’ extra, especially given the memory foam. If you have any neck/shoulder/upper back pain while sleeping, check these out. They have other kinds of pillows, maternity, toddler, the whole nine yards, so I want to try more to get a more comprehensive view of the brand and report back.

They dalso offer a 100-night sleep trial so that you can make sure it works for you too, which I lovelovelove as an option.

9.) Homemade whipped cream

I mean, nothing beats it. We whipped some up over Christmas to top our Christmas morning French toast casserole…chef’s kiss! So much yummier than Cool Whip, and also none of the chemicals. Ha. 😉 Mimi makes it like this:

1 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Whisk cream, powdered sugar and vanilla in a chilled bowl with an electric mixer until peaks form!

10.) NEW FLOORS!

THE SAGA CONCLUDES! IYKYK 😉 But this month’s biggy was blitzing through our housewide floor project before the holidays hit. While it meant much of the month was just in disarray all around us, we *did* get to enjoy them for Christmas, and they look *so* much better than the original situation! The OG floors were a cherry hardwood from the first owners – high quality, sure, but just not our style. However, a huge reno project like that wasn’t going to be in the cards (or a priority) for a few years…that is, until Mold Gate 2023 made it happen. Sometimes the road is long and windy and weird, but the final destination is worth it – ha!

We are *obsessed* with the new warm brown and the black accents, and how it just pulls everything together so nicely.
