Before MARCHing right into this new month, there are ten things I’ve just GOTTA share with you. It’s Cool Sh*t time! From what may be the comfiest dress to ever grace my closet, to what I’m predicting will be my new favorite thriller author, there are loads to lovelovelove from February. 🙂 Without further adieu, let’s just MARCH to it!
1.) $27 Target dress
The second I saw this dress on my Instagram, I literally gasped and added to cart. The tiers! The pockets! The sleeves! Everything about it is fun and flirty while being comfortable and movable. Then I got it in the mail…and Lawdy Lawdy. One of the softest dresses I’ve ever felt. It’s squishy soft, but a bit thicker, so it feels like a comfy hug on your body. What I really lovelovelove is its versatility – pair with pumps and a cardigan for the office, sneakers for running around town…so many options for a cute, easy look.
Did I mention it’s only $27?
And POCKETS???? Just might be the softest, comfiest dress in my closet.
2.) Living Proof volume/texture spray + HAIRCUT!
Chopping my hair was one of my finer decisions of February. 🙂 I am so very glad I did it. And the second I did, I was on the hunt for more volume-enhancing, texturizing sprays to really amp up the bedhead vibe. In doing so, I learned that one of my faves, Living Proof, recently launched an updated version of their bestselling dry volume blast spray (which I also have + lovelovelove), this time with even more texture-boost and heat protection inside. Bless up.
Gives a really great boost without feeling weighed down.
Mom jeans are all the rage, but it can be tricky finding the *right* mom jean for your body type. I’ve tried some that end up being way too saggy around the crotch or booty, and just generally unflattering (or blatantly uncomfortable). I picked up these from Pink Lily after hearing good things, and friends, I’m impressed. They’re not too loose, can be worn straight or cuffed, and have a good amount of distressing without being to extra. Feel free to drop code ERICA15 at checkout for 15% off!
Perhaps my most thrilling find of the month: the $8 body butter that is an exact dupe to the cult-classic $45 Brazilian Bum Bum butter! I’m a big fan of it – I’m actually almost out of my little tub in my master bath! – but you know I’m all for the look (or feel?) for less. When I caught word on TikTok that this drugstore butter was LITERALLY THE SAME, from smell to function to ingredients, I went on a wild chase to find it. My Target was sold out (go figure), but I grabbed a tub in Ulta to try ASAP. Sure enough…THE SAME.
Especially with a more diligent strength-building workout routine as of late, I’ve been on the hunt for protein-packed snacks to have throughout the day. I had heard of Chomps before so grabbed some on Amazon – and now I’m addicted. Whoops.
But in all seriousness – they’re 100% grass-fed beef sticks with about 9-10 grams of protein, simple/real ingredients, and no added sugar (bless). They also are paleo + Whole 30-friendly, if you’re following either! While they are obviously pricier than, say, Slim Jims…they’re waaaaaay healthier. And there are multiple yummy flavors to choose from (so far I’ve tried the original and the jalapeno beef – I’d buy both again!). So if you, like me, have a constant craving for snacky snacks, I recommend.
6.) Leopard Swimsuit
While shopping for swimmies for Costa Rica, I came across this gem of a one-piece. Now normally, I may not have gone for something on the sexier side…but given that it was a tropical trip for Mom & Dad, I figured I’d give it a try. And I’m SO GLAD I did.
It totally surprised me with how well it stays in place. Even though it’s a very deep cut in the front, the ties around keep both strips in place, so I was never in fear of a wardrobe malfunction.
I was intrigued about this brand because the fragrances are said to be “healthy” – they’re clean and natural without any phthalates, parabens, mineral oils, irritants, etc. Especially since some fragrances can be pretty chemical-heavy and can actually disrupt your hormones, I figured I’d give this one a try to see if they scent still lasts well like perfumes do.
It’s got a sweet vanilla grapefruit scent with notes of lime, warm cedarwood, and Madagascar vanilla. Beautiful warm citrusy vibe, and the brand is cruelty-free and vegan, too.
8.) The Music Man on Broadway
One of my favorite little traditions that my brother and I stumbled upon is taking each other to Broadway shows to celebrate birthdays, etc. Since our parents both have February birthdays and opening weekend of The Music Man on Broadway happened to be smack dab in the middle of the two, we figured we’d try to land tickets – and we did! Powerhouses Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster are co-starring with their names in lights, and holy moly…what a production. As if the two of them weren’t showstopper enough solo, putting them together made actual magic on stage. The show was one of the best we’ve ever seen (and the show we saw before that was Hamilton…so that’s saying something). I don’t think I stopped smiling once the entire show!
If you’re able to snag tickets, I 100% recommend doing so. It’s a true JOY, from opening curtain to curtain call.
Everyone and their mother has been talking about Colleen Hoover, so I hopped on the bandwagon…and haven’t looked back. Your girl is a BIG psychological thriller fan if I’m reading fiction, and man…Colleen can WRITE psychological thrillers. I read Verity in 3 days (which is FAST for me since I have a toddler and never take time to read…ha!). I’ve got 5 more of her novels in my Amazon cart now, too.
All I’m sayin’ is I could really go for a trip to Disney World. Ya feel me? I swear there’s an actual cult following Stoney Clover. Who ever thought that throwing patches on basic bags and pouches would become this CRAZED thing?! They have drops that sell out in minutes and can charge what they do for a reason. I finally pulled the trigger when they dropped the new Disney line with Mickey and the gang; I grabbed this fanny for myself to manifest our next trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. I *also* grabbed this mini Princess backpack for the OG and customized it, which we’ll give her when she starts “official” pre-school in the fall…and I think she’s going to lose her mind!
