COOL SH*T I LOVELOVELOVE – Monthly Favorites, March 2023

Happy Holy Week, Good Friday, & Easter Weekend. 🙂 I hope you’ve had a meaningful week so far with excitement for what’s to come this weekend! (YAY JESUS!). This week (maybe month) has totally thrown me for a loop so far…I thought it was Tuesday on Thursday, and also March. Where have I been? So no surprised that March’s Cool Sh*t is a wee bit late – pardon the tardiness, but it’s worth the wait I swear. 😉 Lots of goodies for spring inside, so buckle up!

1.)

After seeing a handful of Instagram influencers raving about these shorts, I still wasn’t sold – they just seemed like overpriced sweats. But I was intrigued enough to add to cart once they were on sale, and now that I’ve got a pair…I’m sold. They don’t feel like your average, basic sweatpant material – they feel upleveled (they’re listed as a cotton/polyster blend, but a specific “Max fleece” for Abercrombie…so not sure if they have it patended or what!). The length is what really sold me; they’re a perfect length for running around or lounging, especially as a mom, because they’re not “short short” – but you can cuff the waistband easily if you want to raise them a bit (I’m wearing them cuffed once here to fit better under my baby bump!). They’ve got pockets + a functional drawstring, and they’re just the perfect short you’d literally reach for on a comfy Sunday afternoon. I’ve got another in my cart already – grab a pair to try while they’re on sale now!

2.) Tarte quench lip rescue (discount code: ERICA)

Winter crusty crust lips are a thing. I feel like there’s an entire season of struggle to keep your lips from feeling chapped or peely or drier than a desert. Especially in my journey of researching so many ingredients in beauty and skincare products, there are so many chapsticks and lip balms out there that are blatantly BAD for your lips – that are literally formulated to MAKE them dry out faster so that you use more of the product (and ultimately buy more of it). Insanity. I’m all for spending a few more dollars on a good lip product that’s made well and really works – Tarte’s quench lip rescue has me thoroughly impressed.

It feels FABULOUS (applies exactly like a chapstick), and beyond the clear, there are other nude or more natural-toned colors that give you a slight, sheer tint with all the benefits of a bomb lip balm. It’s got jojoba, coconut, vitamin E, hyaluronic acid and marine plants to hydrate, soothe, + moisturize instantly, and it just feels so dang good on – I’ve got two and will absolutely grab more. Different than another Tarte lip favorite of mine, Juicy Lips, because it’s not as glossy – definitely more closely aligned with a lip BALM over a gloss, so it’s something I’ve been grabbing for no makeup days or just general chapped lip upkeep.

ALSO I ALMOST FORGOT, code ERICA will take 15% off your entire Tarte order! Bless up!

3.) Abercrombie sculptlux onesie

After falling in love(lovelove) with Abercrombie’s athletic dresses from the same line, I grabbed the onesie to wear this spring – and MAN OH MAN, it’s so good. I sized up one (to a medium) for pregnancy, and it’s got STRETCH. It’s also got pads in the top so you can comfortably go bra-free, and the back straps are adjustable. Great length in the legs and just SO. STINKIN. COMFORTABLE! Highly recommend, pregnant or not – you’ll be wearing on repeat.

4.) Pearl headband

Your girl is HERE for a headband, but ain’t nobody got time for headaches or pain. For that I’m that much pickier and will only wear headbands that make it all day pain-free – this one fits the bill. She’s cute, she’s classy, she doesn’t cost an arm and a leg (I cannot believe some headbands are $75+…for a HEADBAND). Easy Amazon add-to-cart!

5.) Corona non-alcoholic beer

From being pregnant to also being more proactive about my health/wellness journey, I’ve been on the hunt for an alcohol-free that’s actually GOOD – ie, tastes like the real deal with good flavor. After trying quite a few different brands’ options, Corona’s might be my favorite so far – it tastes THE SAME and doesn’t leave me missing anything. I can see myself still drinking those postpartum and beyond, with a lime for a good time.

6.) Apple Cranberry La Croix

I wasn’t a big LaCroix girl…until I found the apple cranberry flavor on a random Aldi run. The flavor is just so good and I finished the entire case in a week. I’d say it was a bit more flavorful than other La Croixs I’ve tried – definitely makes for a good cocktail or mocktail mixer. I’m on the hunt for more, because I’m hooked!

7.) Beautycounter clean deodorant

Let me get one thing straight: I’d been a Secret girl since the 6th grade. I would not – and felt like I COULD not – stray from my tried and true Clinical Strength, and so much confidence was in that one brand. But, I was open to trying “cleaner” deodorants since many antiperspirants have aluminum inside or had been connected to other potential health issues. Others I’d try didn’t make it past a day of testing – they’d leave me feeling gross and needing re-application by lunch. But this one. THIS ONE! Color me impressed – Beautycounter’s deodorant is clean and somehow lasted ALL DAY AND THEN SOME for me. Truly, I was floored. I will most definitely re-purchase and continue using!

There are over 2,500 SOLID 5-star reviews, four scents to choose from, and a discount if/when you re-purchase a refill (which is what I’m doing!).

8.) Smoothie straws

One of those absoutely random Amazon finds that ended up being a total winner winner chicken dinner. I kept finding myself on the struggle bus trying to use regular reusable straws with my post-workout smoothies, and it just wasn’t working. These are a perfect width for smoothies, but they’re also wide enough for bubble teas, etc. Non-toxic, BPA-free, and comes with a cleaning brush!

9.) The Glaze Hydrating Body Oil (discount code: THRIVE20)

When The Glaze first launched, I had doubts. As someone who has always checked the box for “oily skin,” I generally avoid anything with “oil” in the title like it’s got cooties or the plague. But after using it for weeks now – wowwwwee. I’ve been proved wrong, y’all. It’s SO GOOD. It’s loaded with the richest AND cleanest ingredients – namely, three fabulous oils (argan, jojoba, and meadowfoam oils). These work together to protect against environmental damage, soothe dry or irritated skin, improve your overall texture and elasticity, balance your skin’s natural oil production and deeeeeply hydrate – all WITHOUT being greasy or heavy.

It doesn’t absorb instantly, so I recommend applying all over, then doing something else for a few minutes to let it fully sink in before putting clothes on so that you get the full benefit on your skin! And I promise you, you will NOT feel like a slicked up racetrack – you WILL feel luxuriously moisturized and deeply hydrated.

BONUS: Code THRIVE20 will take 20% off your whole order!

10.) Lesser Evil other popcorns

OH the depths of my lovelovelove affair with Lesser Evil know no bounds – if you have not yet tried their popcorn, the time is now. My first taste of Lesser Evil was, of all things, their seasonal watermelon popcorn (which ended up being a fast favorite back in September). But from there I tried the Fiery Hot, which was lowkey addicting if you like a little kick. Next was the “No cheese” cheesiness which is SO SO GOOD if you’re a cheese popcorn lover but want it a.) healthier and b.) less coated in fake cheese powder crap. 😉 I was first turned onto the brand in my search for healthier, cleaner snack options, and this stuff is so highly rated. It’s what I call a “Whole Foods find” since they carry it (and I first saw it there), but I buy it now whenever I find a random bag stocked in TJMaxx, Marshall’s, Burlington, Ross, etc – if you see it, SNATCH IT because you’ll save a few bucks on the bag!

My latest flavor find was the Himalayan Pink Salt, and it’s got the perfect *slight* hint of sweet – Mimi tried it at my house and kept grabbing it, which is SO RARE for her to do when snacking, so you know it’s extra yum. 😉
