Grey Draped Dress, Ten Ways

HUMP DAAAAY! Can we bring the camel back? Because between a midweek funny to make ya laugh, a long holiday weekend, and the return of the PSL, I’d say this week has been nothing short of spectacular. Wouldn’t you agree??

To keep up the spectacularity, I think I’ve found the perfect dress.

Seriously guys, it’s the perfect. dress. The Staci Draped Dress from Saule Boutique has quickly become my #1 dress bae (yup, that’s now a thing). It’s the most flattering, most versatile, most comfortable, and most seasonally transient wrap dress that works on nearly any body type.

Yes. Please.

It’s uber soft, too, and with the wrap cut draping down a tad bit longer in the back, you get the figure-flattering effect of a bodycon dress without feeling like you need to constantly hike down your dress to not moon the neighbors. You can dress it up, dress it down, and wear it MORE than ten different ways.

Which means it’s time for…One Thing, Ten Ways! I styled this grey draped dress ten different ways to help you envision exactly how it could work within your own closet and within the confines of your own personal style. Ya feel? I feel. So let’s jump right in and talk the ten, from left to right, top to bottom.

Grey dress Ten ways

(For your reference, I’m wearing a size Small!)

One. School girl Chic. I feel like this look is straight outta a Macy’s back-to-school campaign advertisement. Because plaids run the age gamut and are pretty much a quintessential staple for your fall closet. The bright colors perfectly complement the lighter neutral dress, and the Oxfords keep everything very Spencer Hastings.

Two. Chambray is the new black. I think something chambray or denim is going to be a staple returner every time a One Thing, Ten Ways rolls around! I LOVE CHAMBRAY. It’s my lived-in obsession when the leaves start to change, because it’s uber comfy and versatile; throwing a darker embroidered chambray top over the Staci Draped Dress adds another layer of warmth and rich cobalt color, and these little leopard booties then get the spotlight. (Did you see me style the booties ten ways?)

Three. That’s a wrap. This pashmina scarf steals the show. Why? Because you can go all Grace Kelly and drape it over your arms, or where it like a scarf and flip it over one shoulder, or wrap it around your entire body to keep warm. The simplicity of the Staci Draped Dress means you can really play around with your accessories, and a bright pashmina is a *perfect* accessory!

Four. Gone corporate. Sometimes office wear can be fun! While this dress is a tad shorter in the front, the fact that it’s longer in the back makes you more likely to not get dress coded. Add a punchy blazer with shoulder pads to boot (this one is from 9th & Elm) and studded flats (hollah to the fake Valentino’s in da house) and you’ve got an edgier, trendier, comfier office look.

Five. Queen of the Jungle. These tall, tight leopard boots were one of my prized purchases last season, and they just do amazing things to this solid, simple, neutral wrap dress. Because you’ve got some legroom to play with, any sortof punch or color or pattern down south is bound to make an awesome statement.

Six. Plain + pop. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably noticed the absurd amounts of times I’m caught teal-footed. This sliders from Target are so ridiculously cute and comfy and work so many different ways, and they make the Staci Draped Dress appropriate for late-summer nights in an effortless sorta way. I added a pastel statement necklace with some teal bits in it to pull the look together.

Seven. Your boyfriend’s shirt. I swear this isn’t actually my fiance’s shirt though. Believe it or not, this is actually a shirtdress layered on top of a dress. Dress-ception. There’s just something super edgy and fun about this look that I love; it’s a little grungy and street chic, and fun sunnies + cat sneakers make it all the better. Speaking of these sneaks, they’re Keds from the new Taylor Swift fall collection. There’s a CAT on the side of the sneaker. A CAT. Everything I could ever hope for in a shoe. (Shop #kedsstyle on social media to find your own dream pair!)

Eight. Hunting Buffalo (Plaid). Remember how we said the Staci Draped Dress is pretty much the most versatile thing you could have in your closet right now? Point proven: a bright, on trend Buffalo Plaid boyfriend cardigan looks oh so fabulous over it. Raise your hand if you’re a tad obsessed with big cardigans. (Me, me, me!) Since the dress is figure flattering and is a bit clingier in all the right places, you’ve got the freedom to layer bigger, thicker, chunkier things overtop and make it work through winter. #yesplease

Nine. Legs for a Mile. When you can effortlessly add leggings under a dress, it’s SO MUCH OF A WIN in my book. Because of the drapey back, there’s no ride up like would otherwise be occurring in a bodycon-style dress. There’s also no lines showing. So you can have warm legs with cute sneakers in fall, and then warm legs with those awesome statement boots we talked about earlier come colder weather. Plus, with a sportier sorta look, you can play with the boys and be comfortable all day long…while in a dress. Riddle me that.

Ten. Mix it up. Print mix, that is. Remember this skirt? It’s back and ready for action, paired with a black-and-white infinit scarf. Because the skirt is a bit longer, I love pulling it over the wrap dress’s knot for a streamlined torso and high waist (meaning legs for dayz). The big, bold stripes also disguise any lump or bump from the knot, so your secret is safe. The daintier black-and-white pattern up top nicely complements the big black-and-white pattern down below, so you’re print mixed to perfection.
