Another tier has opened for eager beavers to shop ’til ya drop! Influencer Status shoppers are now able to add to cart in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, . I was able to pop in my local store yesterday to pick up as much as possible from my wishlist in store so that I could shoot some try-on content for ya, so I hope this helps! I wanted to shoot at home since shooting inside a store dressing room without a mask felt irresponsible given the times we’re in, so this is as much of my order as was available in store combined with some favorites from previous years that are included again. (The girls did say, though, that they’re sanitizing each room thoroughly after each guest, so they were encouraging folks to still try something on if need be, and I felt comfortable doing so based on the precautions they’re taking in keeping things clean!). I’m waiting on a few things to come in from online, but that’s all noted below, too. 🙂
REAL TALK: I’m honestly disappointed with how fast most bestsellers have sold out, with no signs of restocks. The tiered system this year of shopping by tier even within Early Access based on how much you spend at Nordstrom every year feels pretty elitist to me, and a case of “the rich just get richer, the poor stay poor.” Maybe that’s just an angle that I see as a blogger, but especially with how much is sold out now, it’s been a challenge to even get my hands on the merchandise I knew you wanted to see the most (and the stuff I wanted myself, too!) since so many of the folks who spend $15,000 a year at Nordstrom (yes, $15,000 shopping at Nordstrom alone) sold out product when it opened for “Icon level” shoppers. Especially since the sale gets a bad rap sometimes for bloggers who buy all the things to shoot + share, only to return everything after, it’s frustrating. (All the more frustrating for me personally since I DON’T do that – I only buy what I plan on keeping myself to keep it 100% authentic + transparent for you, per usual!).
Biggest WINS:
These are a few things I purchased from my wishlist that I pretty much KNEW would be lovelovelove at first sight – and they were!
– I mean, it’s selling out SO DANG FAST and it’s no surprise at all. I sized up to a Medium for a little bit of a more oversized fit and I’m SO glad I did – it’s perfect! This specific sweater is the *exact* same fabric/feel as the blanket, so it’s ultra cozy. (As opposed to or that are a bit of a lighter feel and not as fluffy, if that makes sense!)

– These are a HOT item. I initially thought I’d need to size up 1/2 since I had seen that recommended online and oftentimes that’s what I do for Steve Madden shoes specifically, but I tried on both in store and would say actually stay true to size! Such a pretty, dainty, classic shoe to wear into fall. So glad I snagged!

– There are quite a few GORGEOUS Tory Burches in this year’s sale, so I figured I’d pull a #TreatYoSelf and grab one. I chose this neutral one since it’s got a handful of neutral hues, and it just matches literally everything. Holds the essentials! A great gift idea, too.
– I’m a biiiiiiig fan of Zella pieces. It started with the and just grew from there (seriously if you’re a mama-to-be, you NEED the – I lived in them all pregnancy with Liv!!!!). These joggers are a great option for everyday wear being that they’re not a skin-tight legging but fit snugger in all the right places, and they’re made from a great soft stretchy material that’s a BIT thicker than something like a Lulu Align pant. Truly something you’ll want to live in!
– I typically grab a striped long-sleeve tee in each NSALE as a staple to wear all fall, be it by itself or layered with other pieces. This was this year’s, and I lovelovelove. It’s a snugger-fitting one than in past year’s, but some of the ones I had/have from year’s past felt lesser quality, or ended up being pretty worn-out after a season with having thinner fabric. This feels like a really high quality top that I’ll have as a staple for seasons to come. And not even 20 bucks!

– Comfy little slip-on – I recommend sizing up 1/2. It’s a stretchy knit material on top!
Unexpected WINS:
I had a few unexpected wins with items I had totally missed online, but stumbled upon in store and loveloveloved.
– Granted, I did NOT need another sweatshirt. But since I live in cozy clothes (don’t we all anymore?!), I couldn’t pass it up after just touching it on the table – it was SO DANG SOFT. Beyond that, I tried it on and it’s got STRETCH – which makes it all the more comfy. I sized up to a M so that it covers my booty to wear with leggings in the fall/winter!

– So many of you asked for great work-at-home options, and let me tell you – these joggers are IT! You can dress them up OR down, so they’re surprisingly versatile. I mean, you could throw on a front-tucked tee, sneakers and a baseball cap for a totally casual look, or you can pair with a sexy bodysuit and heels for a night out, or you can add a blazer and flats for the office. Literally does ALL THE THINGS while feeling like pajama pants!

– Now this isn’t TOTALLY unexpected since I did have two pairs flagged on my wishlist since first previewing the sale. But I hadn’t tried the brand firsthand myself before, so I wasn’t positive if they’d work or not! And y’all…they work. This brand is SO COMFORTABLE!!!!! While I was trying them on, a girl came up to me and said, “Are those Sofft?!? They’re the most comfortable shoe!” I had high hopes the moment I saw a cushioned arch support inside, and sure enough, they rock. So much so that I bought ’em in two colors: grey and camo! Perfect for popping on fast and running around in in any season.

WINS ON SALE FROM MY CLOSET…
Quite a few things come back year after year, or come back in a slightly different/updated style. For that reason, I sure as heck am not buying everything under the sun; if I have something similar already, there’s just NO need to buy it again!
– If you can only get ONE thing from the NSALE and don’t have these yet, get yourself a pair of Spanx leather leggings. Worth every ounce of hype and then some! (Here are my Spanx leather leggings styled 3 ways for fall!)
– This is another “if you can only get ONE thing” thing – ha! Something Barefoot Dreams should also be at the tippy top of that list. So if you can get only TWO things, get Spanx leather leggings and a Barefoot Dreams SOMETHING. Namely, a blanket. Because they’re pricey, yes, but WORTH IT. We have two in our house after J + I would literally fight over the one, so SOMEONE required his one for Christmas. Not naming names. But. 😉 Then the OG is likely going to need her own, too, since she’s equally obsessed and requires it for bedtime snuggles + reading time. Heck, even Purrcy approves! They’re truly fabulous and worth every penny when in this sale! Mind you, the ONLY goes on sale in the NSALE. The get down to about $50 at Nordstrom Rack, but at a slightly smaller size. So to get the feel but save a few bucks, wait until they go one sale there (I always letcha know on my Instastories the second I spot ’em there on sale, so stay tuned to not miss it!). Just measure out to make sure you’re getting the best size for what you want!
– This was my first-ever Barefoot Dreams purchase a few years back, and I guess I was sold ever since. 😉 It’s a bit of a lighter, tighter, smoother knit than the and other , if that makes sense. The blanket and leopard cardi feel “fluffier,” which maybe you can tell from the pics if you haven’t felt them in person yet! But some of the other cardigans, like this one, are this soft, smooth, thinner material that feels more buttery than fluffy.
– Another must each year – the wubby! Like hugging a fluffy alpaca. Or wearing one? Ha! This always makes me think of the little girl from Despicable Me who yells “IT’S SO FLUFFY I’M GONNA DIEEEE!!!!!”
– I was super impressed with last year’s Madewell cardigan because it felt like cashmere! And this year’s is no different. A really soft, cashmere-esque knit for waaaaaay less than real cashmere. In quite a few pretty colors/prints this year, too!
– Another fan favorite + seasonal classic from the sale!
– I don’t think I’d ever seen Levis included in the NSALE, so I was pretty pumped about this one. Not all of the expensive Nordstrom denim is worth it, in my opinion, especially since you can get FABULOUS jeans at, like, a fourth the price on sale at Abercrombie or American Eagle. But Levi’s are always top notch, and this is a really included in the sale. They do run longer, FYI; I’m 5′ 7″ and still have room to cuff at the bottom. So plan to cuff, hem, or cut ’em raw if you’re on the shorter side!
– Was trying to avoid beauty mentions here since we talked allllll about the best of the best in Nordstrom Beauty here, but this Tula kit is too good! Some of my FAVORITES, at the best price you’ll get. Even using my discount code on Tula’s own website won’t get you this good a deal on the most comparable set. So if you lovelovelove ’em already and need a restock and/or want to give these favorites of mine a try, now’s the time.
– This exact cami from last year is back again! A really pretty option for fall layering and perfect for date night; also great for the office if you wear a blazer on top. Comes in black now, too!
– I first tried Zella’s in the NSALE and never looked back. They’re a truly fabulous brand of activewear, whether you just want to look like you’re hitting the gym, or actually hitting it. 😉 It’s a bit of a thicker material than something like Lulu Align pants, but great in all the right places. I have a few pairs in my closet!
– Mentioned these earlier so I’ll keep it short n’ sweet here: if you’re pregnant, get these. If you have a pregnant girlfriend, get her these. These were the BEST leggings I had during pregnancy, hands down. Wore them well into postpartum, too!
– I would not buy these full price ever. But in the sale, they’re great! A suuuuuuper soft pair of jammies that is really breathable at night, too. Don’t buy them not on sale; they sometimes show up at Nordstrom Rack, and there’s a really good dupe on Amazon that I own, as well, and almost like better than the original. They’re a really great style for new mamas, too, to bring to the hospital/wear especially if you’re breastfeeding. I’d also recommend getting a darker color; because of the soft, thinner fabric, they can show your nips. HA. So if you’re sensitive to that and/or don’t want to worry about that, just grab a black or navy pair!
– I got last year’s pair in black with gold sparkle and am DYING to get the leopard-ish pair in this year’s sale, but it sells out every 3 seconds – so keeping my eyes peels for a restock. Fingers crossed!
STILL UNSURE…
– This had been deemed the fan favorite sweater of the sale, but I’m not fully sure I’m convinced. I did buy it in the and think the shades + style are definitely where it’s at for fall. BUT, it’s SO chunky that it’s easily caught on things, and it’s almost where the knit is see-through at points since it’s such a chunky, heavy yarn.
– I tried these on in-store and was torn (hence why I didn’t take them home with me – ha!). In theory, they’re great – they’re warm, trendier while still feeling classic, etc. But I was a bit thrown by them being my near-exact skin color in that I didn’t want people thinking I was pantsless in public (just me??? Ha!), and I couldn’t easily pair them with things in my head where the suede texture wasn’t clashing. They would, however, be a great work-at-home staple, since they’re reaaaally comfortable on while looking like a dressier pant!
Marc Fisher booties – I tried these on in-store, too, and have my color of choice en route to my house now. I THINK they’ll be good. I sure as heck HOPE they’ll be great, because I was reaaaaaally excited about these when the sale first previewed. It was hard trying on because I didn’t have my preferred socks and/or the right outfit on to get the full picture, so I won’t be 100% convinced until I can work some magic in my closet with them. At first they were a bit more difficult to get on; I ended up sizing up 1/2, but now I have to make sure they don’t look big from the sides, especially since they’re a bit more of a pointer toe.
MISSES:
– I was super disappointed with this one. I tried on both an XS AND S in store; the XS was waaaay too short on me in the torso so it didn’t even work as a bodysuit, and the S was too loose on top – it literally just fell off of my shoulders and down to my belly button if I moved. So. Awkward.
– These are being RAVED about online, but I wasn’t as big a fan in person. Namely because I had Steve Madden booties from years ago that also had the side-cuts, and they didn’t hold up well; they almost started folding down weirdly and just not keeping their shape with time, so I was nervous these would do the same.
