If there’s one piece worth investing in for the fall/winter season, it’s Spanx leather leggings. Katie bought her first pair in this year’s NSALE and has been *itching* to break ’em out for the season – for good reason. Mine are already in the rotation – they’re just such a versatile, worthwhile staple that can be dressed up or down for basically any occasion.
Last year I shared six different ways to style Spanx leather leggings, but really…that’s not enough. There are, like, INFINITE ways to style these bad boys, which is one of the many, many reasons why they’re a staple in my cold weather closet. That, and the fact that they’re WARM. Really, I prefer my Spanx leather leggings over denim come winter, because they’re warmer! So couple those things with them also being LEGGINGS and you’ve got the legitimately comfiest, coziest combos.
They also suck you in, in typical Spanx fashion. 😉 But, I don’t find them uncomfortable in the slightest – it’s a gentle enough suck-in to give thanks to them around the Thanksgiving table without making you uncomfortable after the pumpkin pie. Capiche? I’ve tried other leather leggings that were OK in a style sense, but didn’t do NEARLY the number of things that Spanx leather leggings do, from both a style and comfort standpoint. The warmth, the stretch, the sheen – they won’t leave you sweaty underneath (ew, but it’s the reality of what some others do). Also, I think the slight crackle in the sheen makes them more wearable for everyday, too, since they don’t feel like rocker pants. 😉
Spanx leather leggings will undoubtedly be on my upcoming list of absolutely 100% worth-it splurges, and I’m sure you’ll only hear me rave about them all season long, so brace yo’selves. 😉 But, for good reason. Really truly seriously.
All that being said, obviously they are a pricier item, so I wanted to find the best possible alternative at a lower price. So far, this pair seems like the best option! (On sale for $38.46 right now – woo!) Word on the street is that they’re actual dupes, so I ordered a pair to put that theory to the test – they’ll be here next week, so stay tuned to my Instastories for the verdict. 😉 And until then, let’s style Spanx leather leggings three more ways, shall we?
SPANX LEATHER LEGGINGS LOOK #1
This look is an absolute casual favorite right about now. Black-on-black automatically feels equal parts chic and badass. Throwing on an easy oversized jean jacket just pulls everything together and makes it look NOT like a wedding photographer or waitress – ha!
Let me just give a solid shout-out to good ol’ Dr. Scholl’s while we’re here, OK? I know I’ve raved about them before, but I swear every single pair of Dr. Scholl’s I own (and I own about 7 at this point) is fabulous. SO comfortable. I mean, think about it. They took the comfort technology in the orthopedic shoes your grandma wears to prevent aches and pains and made it fashion-forward and Instagram-worthy. Rejoice! If you’re someone whose on her feet all day, be that for work or for chasing the kids of what have you, I could not recommend Dr. Scholl’s more. These slip-on’s take the cake and come in SO MANY COLORS + subtle prints – everything from pastels to leopard.
And of course, shoutout to Keeks again – if you’re in the market for a designer splurge this holiday season, check them out. Their team is the best, their selection is unreal, and you’ll save so much more money!
SPANX LEATHER LEGGINGS LOOK #2
This is such a fun option for an edgier night out look. It’s black-on-black again…can we tell I’m a fan of that combo? 😉 It’s my girly-edgy dressing policy come to life – ha! But really, this look is a great fall night out option.
Be wary of this Amazon sweater dress if you’re my height or taller (5′ 7″) – it’s more like an oversized sweater at that point. For my shorter chicas, it makes a hella cute sweater dress! But on me, it’s a wee bit too close to the hoohah for comfort. Ain’t nobody got time for Marilyn moments, and Lord knows how it is chasing a toddler around…so, Spanx leather leggings underneath it is. 😉 But it’s a nice option otherwise that comes in a few colors – and the neckline is different than what I’ve been seeing lately!
These leopard booties are TOO fun – and they’re a Walmart find! Definitely more of a bold piece, but the best for making a statement.
Also, I’m wearing our fave Maybelline lippy here that’s gotten quite the hype around these rosy parts the past few months – shade is Make it Happen!
SPANX LEATHER LEGGINGS LOOK #3
I pulled this H&M sweater out of my closet from last year and fell back in lovelovelove all over again! It’s ABSURDLY soft – as in, could pass as a pillow. It’s also the perfect degree of oversized, where it works by itself over leggings and can handle a sleeve roll nicely.
Totally easy look to just throw on a blanket scarf and go – it’s a really easy dressing formula for looking + feeling put together with approximately zero effort. 😉 (P.S. Here are 10 ways to wear a blanket scarf if you wanna mix it up + need inspiration!)
Wearing Make It Happen again here as a lippy – perfect shade for the season!
