Do you guys remember paging through Seventeen magazines way back when, and seeing the “week’s worth” of outfit ideas for each day of the week? It was like every girl’s Bible to middle school dressing, and really spiced up your pre-teen wardrobe choices. 😉
So this is that, but on steroids for us big kids. 😉 While SO MUCH has been sold out with no signs of restock in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (boo), one thing is still going strong: workwear. Workwear is actually something that’s been specially requested by readers, too, so I’m STOKED to bring you this post! Everything I’m wearing below is ~on sale~ and surprisingly versatile; there are tops that work from desk to drinks, and dresses that work on the office floor or the dance floor (of a wedding etc).
Quick note before diving in: I’m wearing the exact same with each of these office outfits, and for good reason – it goes with errr’thaaang and looks totally beautiful on every skin tone! It’s currently on sale in a trio – the lipstick, lip liner, and gloss – and is truly fabulous. 100% recommend pulling a today on it, because you deserve it.
And ALSO, I’m wearing my customized with each – you can still use code ERICA15 at checkout for 15% off your own! NOW. Let’s chat workwear, shall we?
MONDAY
This is one of those must-have workwear pieces. It’s that fabulous fabric that you know I live for that doesn’t wrinkle AT ALL, even if you roll it up in a ball on the floor for a week (legit). It’s a flattering cut that looks great on any chest size or waist size, it comes in multiple colors, and it’s on sale for $25.90. Would easily transition to after-hours, too, especially since it is a V-neck!
Then these – I’ve had them in my closet for maybe two years now? They’re INSANELY PERFECT for one key reason: it’s like wearing leggings to work. Bless up, really. They’re exactly as comfortable as that, but more professional since they’re not skin-tight and have a pretty pleat detailing down the front leg. But definitely more live-in-ready than slacks, so I think they’re a must! Also dress down so easily with your fave chunky knit sweater for fall, so they’re like a classier, more grown up black legging that works for work. Aaaaaand on sale for $31.90. Win win.
Lastly, shoutout to these – the snakeskin version is currently sold out, but I found a at another retailer for less (although sizes are selling out fast there, too)!
TUESDAY
WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT . The second I tried it on in-store, I freaked the freak out. Lemme break it down. One: it looks like a button-down dress shirt, but there aren’t actually any buttons. Two: It’s chiffon, so it also *doesn’t wrinkle*. Can we tell that I’m completely against ironing? Yes? Cool cool. Three: Comes in multiple colors. (I also lovelovelove the pink, and the windowpane print!) Four: It works to dress down with jeans, too, or wear for date night etc. Five: It’s on sale for $31.90. Are we convincecd yet??
Next, these I wasn’t sure how I would feel about them, but I actually reaaaally like them. The swing is a fun, flattering fit. I will say they run big; these were a Small that I had ordered online, but I had to pin them in the back to properly fit my waist. So I would’ve sized down to an XS!
WEDNESDAY
This is just fieeeeerce. I lowkey feel like a queen wearing it, so that’s a fun plus. It’s also one that would be fun for a winter wedding. There’s a slight pouf at the shoulders which makes it feel like such a power piece. The tie at the waist is an additional flattering touch, so I’m just here for it.
I’m so sad I can’t find my shoes online anymore, BUT they’re – wanted to mention that for y’all since I’m personally obsessed, my mom was obssessed, and figured some for you might be obsessed, too. 😉
THURSDAY
This is a TOTAL FAVORITE – so much so that you just might see it again in a Cool Sh*t I Lovelovelove near you soon. 😉 This might be my very favorite of them all. It’s a flattering cut on all body types, truly. The flare is FUN – this one would also totally work beyond workwear for a wedding or special event. Totally easy to throw a blazer on overtop, too, for fall. AND it’s absolutely a power color – nothing beats a good jewel tone, in my opinion!
Also, have to say – it’s just so well made. It’s a slightly thicker material, and it just feels sturdy and high quality (which it is). 100% worth the price. If you’re going to splurge on any of the Eliza J pieces, I’d probably prioritize this one!
FRIDAY
This is the bomb. Again, another totally wrinkle-free piece! And again, another workwear gem from Eliza J. Can we talk about the COLOR???? I never really consider myself a green girl, but everything about this emerald just feels so timeless + pretty. It’s another one that would be flattering on ALL figures, from the ruched arm detailing to the waist tie, to the swing pant legs. AND another one that would work for weddings, special events, etc – and the color would literally let it transition into the holiday season with ease. I mean, how fabulous is that?!
are AWESOME – they’re so cute, classic, and also on sale for only $19!!!!! They’re great for work, but also great for a night out; would work with rolled boyfriend jeans or distressed skinnies, or a black mini skirt or an LBD. And you won’t believe !!!
Last thing to call out is – currently on sale for $11.97!!!! Also comes in blush and lavender. If you’ve been on the hunt for a good crossbody – especially a circle crossbody since they’re so hot right about now – carpe diem on this deal.
BONUS
Another Eliza J for the win! And another that makes me feel like a princess, so I can’t complain. 😉 Y’all, it’s just made so so so well and fits like a dream. You can’t help but want to twirl around in it! Make it even more professional as workwear with a blazer or cardigan, swap outthe flats for pumps – or wear to a wedding or event with your favorite heels. It’s surprisingly versatile, yet again! I can tell all of these pieces will last me years in my closet with how well they’re made, so if that’s something important to you from a wardrobe sustainability standpoint – these are winner winner chicken dinners.
My pearl barettes come in a 4-pack here for under 10 bucks (yay!), and my rhinestone flats are on sale from $70 down to $37.99
