Happy Tuesday + happy SUMMER, friends! I am SO beyond stoked to be partnering with Walmart to bring you today’s post. If you’ve been part of the CURowd for awhile, you might remember me talking about how I distinctly remember the days of having to shop the clearance racks at Walmart for clothes. At the time, it wasn’t because Walmart was what was hip and happenin’ in the style department – it was because it was what we could afford. I like to think that being limited, in a sense, in terms of what I could snag to style actually helped my own personal sense of style, since it forced me to get more creative and figure out different ways to wear pieces, as well as RE-wear pieces.
But, back in that day, Walmart Fashion was nowhere near what it is today. Things they have a-changed, and BOY – are they good now. They’ve got a few exclusive labels of their own now (like Time and Tru – remember when I shared that line launch with you on Instagram??), + they also source from other places online, similar to how Amazon sources shops + product, for a truly massive selection. There’s even , where you can get more premium brands like Calvin Klein, Karl Lagerfield, Ray-Ban, + Lord & Taylor pieces for less (like can we talk about ??? Someone invite me to their wedding STAT!). I found SO MANY PIECES for summer and beyond on my last online shopping binge at Walmart, so I’m stoked to share a few with you today! Namely, some little black dresses.
You know it, you need it, you lovelovelove it: the LBD.
Every girl needs a good LBD (or three) in her closet. They’re classic, they’re timeless, they’re a great go-to for everything from a girls’ night out to a date, from a fancy event to a lowkey casual outing. You can dress ’em up or dress ’em down, add layers or opt for simplicity.
And friends, they don’t have to break the bank.
I found not one, not two, but THREE LBD’s – each from Walmart, each under $20 (!!!).
Sharing each of them now with you, one styled for a night out at the beach, one for something sportier (like a casual hangout or day running errands, etc), and one for a fancier occasion.
P.S. If you see something you lovelovelove, snag it STAT via Walmart online, as not everything sold online is available in stores – the online selection is incredible, so take advantage of that (and just choose in-store pickup if you want/need to simplify yo’ life!).
First thing’s first: this asymmetrical, wrap-around dress for $12.98. (SHOP IT ).
Besides black, it comes in pink, yellow, + white (I’m torn between pink and the neon yellow to pick up next – what do you think??). This is $34 and comes in black, too – it’ll fit your phone, keys, lipbalm, and card case! I like it more than other traditioanl straw bags because it doesn’t lose literal straw, and it’s not itchy or uncomfortable to wear because of it are so stinkin’ fun – I lovelovelove the bright stripes in the heel, since it’s an unexpected pop (and still subtle!). Lastly, – they’re total Baublebar lookalikes! Baublebar has near-identical rings right now for $40+…these were $19.88.
I’d bring this look to the beach and plan to wear for a night out to dinner!
FYI on sizing here – the dress is technically a Walmart juniors label, so sizing runs a bit small. I’m wearing a small here, but I’ll be grabbing a medium in my next color to add a bit more length (I’m 5′ 7″ and dislike anything that feels short on me – ha!).
Next up, this $17 ruffled number. (SHOP IT ).
This one also comes in white, olive, a mauve-y purple, and a dusty blue. It’s a pretty, flowy dress that’s easily dressed up with heels for a nice occasion or night out, but could also be worn to work! I paired it with this ; it looks like a Kate Spade, but for $11.97 on sale instead of $150+. Then, can we talk about ???? They’re leopard, so obviously I own them. 😉 But they’re on sale for $22.50, too and SO CUTE – besides an all-black ensemble like this one, they’d also look adorable with everything from cut-off jean shorts and a slouchy tee for a casual summer look, to boyfriend jeans and a blazer for something fun in fall. They’re transitional, people!
FYI, the side slit goes a bit high on the dress (it’s lined underneath, so it’s just the overlayer that has that slit where the ruffle pieces meet!), so you can either wear it as-is for a bit of a sexier touch, or just pin it to the underlayer so that it stays closed. Both viable options!
Last but certainly not least, my personal favorite – this $10.98 button-front option. (SHOP IT ).
I cannot adequately express how obsessed I am with this one. The second I tried it on, it felt just like my favorite dress from last year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – like its summery counterpart with buttons down the front instead. Lovelovelove the length of it, because even though it’s bodycon, it does not feel too short, so you’re not walking around feeling uncomfortable all day long (because ain’t nobody got time). Also comes in a mustard-y gold, maroon, and white. Did I mention it’s ten freaking bucks????
A few other pieces I’d be remiss to not call out…
Y’all, it’s Levi’s. WALMART SELLS LEVI’S. Didja know that??? I certainly did not until diving deep into the We Dress America pages, and I was tickled pink to find them online because your girl loveloveloves her Levi’s. I’ve mentioned before how I’ve got quite a few pairs of Levi’s denim in my closet, from straight-leg cropped jeans to distressed skinnies and high-waisted shorts, but I didn’t yet have a jean jacket from the brand. I hadn’t before found a wash like this that I liked as much as this one, so it was a no brainer purchase for me. My mom saw it and was *shook* that it was Levi’s and from Walmart, so she’s either stealing mine or adding to cart herself. I’m encouraging the latter. 😉 Especially because it’s currently from $70 down to $41.70!!!!!
is so classy-looking, so it’s a great option for anyone needing it for practicality purposes, but wanting to avoid the traditional “backpack” schoolkid vibes. The fact that it’s a drawstring closure underneath a snapped flap makes it extra secure, too, so it’s great whether you’re a busy mom too focused on your kids to focus on your bag, or you’re a college kid heading to some music festivals this summer. Whatever the case, it works. On sale for $22.97 + almost sold out…and my mom tried to steal this from me, too. ON A ROLL, MA. 😉
Lastly, Maybe you remember ’em from last month’s Cool Sh*t I Lovelovelove post? 😉 Dude…I’ve worn them approximately too much since buying them, and #CantStopWontStop. They’re so comfy, so easy, and just a fun little addition to dress up an otherwise casual look with the floral applique detailing. Originally $65, on sale currently for $21.50!!! Walmart does it again.
