FINALLY. Y’all. I have been waiting SO DANG LONG to share these with you! I’m still in the wedding spirit. And it helps that I’m typing this from a Tennessee hotel, since I’m here for one of my best friend’s wedding (Nina and I met on the internet and now I’m her bridesmaid – life is awesome and funny like that).
These really need no huge introduction. I always thought that the whole “it’s the best day of my life!” spiel about weddings was cliche. …then I got married. Hands down, THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. ICYMI, our wedding video brings all of the below to life SO well. And if you’re anything like me, I’m a total sucker for wedding things and sit and cry over complete strangers’ wedding videos on YouTube with chocolate and wine like a total weirdo. #normal.
We had over 800 pictures back to us, so I tried narrowing it down a bit for y’all here. 😉 I originally wanted to just drop all of our wedding photos here and let them speak for themselves, but as I was uploading everything, I had so many thoughts and things I wanted to share with those of you who weren’t there for the day – so many fun stories and moments. SO, I might sprinkle in some commentary.
We pre-ordered Starbucks for all the girls so we could pick it up en route to the hair salon. The girl working was SO sweet and ended up decking out our cups when she found out it was for a wedding party!
I was obsessed with my shoes the moment I saw them. And fun fact: I got ’em at Burlington! I knew I wanted gold and sparkly, but the rhinestone touch was just so fun. And I loveloveloved how the strap crossed over my foot – they were so dang comfortable all night long!
That black and white of the guys strolling into church…I can’t.
And this is one of my favorite shots of my dad and I as I was pulling up – so sweet!
Missing a bridesmaid here…because she was singing! One of my bridesmaids is an AMAZING professional opera singer and ended up doing all of my music for the ceremony. I swear she’s an actual angel.
J cried. And it was caught on camera AND video. 😉
All was fine and well until the freakin’ T-Rex showed up. There’s always a wedding crasher…
We had a giant candy bar as favors, and it was a SMASH hit. Everyone got a little jar with the most adorable poem inside, and they got to go fill up their jar at the bar to take home! It was so fun, and seeing as alllllll of the candy was completely gone by the end of the night, I’d say it went over pretty well. 😉
My parents, J’s dad, and our ring bearer ran in to the Rocky Theme song. That’s your perspective on that one. 😉
I was SO HYPE about our entrance. Our bridal party all went in to When Love Takes Over by David Guetta and Kelly Rowland. J and I came in to Feel the love by Rudimental – it’s been one of “our songs” since we first started dating and it is SO GOOD. We milked that. The one thing I had excruciatingly planned out was timing for all of the reception entrances, down to the second of certain songs. #WorthIt
On the right (my left) is my INTERN SARAH. I LOVE HER. And she brought her friend Sami, who is a total peach. These girls have mah heart.
Our first dance was to an oldie but goodie: “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me” by Mel Carter. Jamie burst out into song during it and I had to remind him we had to keep dancing. HA. What a ham. 😉
This is J’s brother/best man. We had a photobooth. So there’s a whole disc of photos from that I can share sometime, too. Ha!
There were so many amazing moments, I can’t even break them down and call out favorites. J and I just felt so happy and blessed the whole time, laughing until our cheeks hurt. Being surrounded by nearly all of your friends and family in one room is absolutely overwhelming in the best sense. And if I had to do it all over again, planning included, I would. Just to relive that day.
To my brides to be, now that it’s all done, this would be my advice:
- Invest in your photographer and videographer. Your flowers will die, your makeup will wear, but your wedding photos and your wedding video (especially video, in my opinion) will constantly transport you back to the big day.
- If you like to dance, make sure your dress lets you dance!!! My dress was all chiffon on the bottom and so lightweight, so it was airy and *perfect* for a night of raging dancing.
- Savor every. single. moment.
What do you think of our wedding photos?
If you’re in the PA area, Marty of Martin Miller Photography did a fabulous job capturing our big day (his website is under construction soon, so connect with him on Facebook!). And my wedding videographer’s info is on my wedding video post, so check that out if ya missed the vid and/or want to contact him!
