Happy Halloweekend, friends! This month was so fun + festive, but I’m stoked to move on to the most wonderful time of the year. 😉 Our weekend has been equal parts relaxing and busy; we had a corn maze adventure and Halloween Haunt yesterday, then church and a football game on the TV today (while mommy decked the halls). OCTOBER’S CUROUNDUP:
OCTOBER’S PODCAST EPISODES:
1.) Decluttering + Organizing Small Spaces – with Kallie Branciforte – WARNING: Today’s episode of THRIVE may inspire a decluttering, cleaning, and/or organizing spree! It’s been a long time coming to get my girlfriend Kallie on THRIVE, but this episode was well worth the wait. Kallie is a decluttering QUEEN and has loads of realistic tips and tricks up her sleeve to make REAL impact in getting and KEEPING a tidier, more organized space. If you’re already sitting there thinking “But I have kids! And pets! A small house!” no worries – Kallie is best known for her relatable advice, so if your home looks like people, you know, LIVE there and not like the inside of a home decor magazine from your Instagram feed – you’re in the right place. Today you’ll take away tips for tidying up fast, decluttering efficiently, and organizing without buying out the Container Store. You’ll also learn a few ways to get your kids involved and mistakes to stop making to instantly look tidier and feel better.
2.) How to Re-think BALANCE to Feel More Joy – with Lianne Kim – We’re talking about the B-word today: “Balance.” Whether you love it or hate it, it probably makes you feel some kinda way – and Toronto-based business coach, author, podcaster and community leader Lianne Kim is here to help you re-think Balance once and for all. Lianne busts some balance myths today and shares, instead, how to get in a state of flow that works for your life, whether you’re a fellow business owner, mama of littles, dedicated careerwoman, or a combination of all of the above. She’s also sharing her C.A.L.M approach to create more joy, appreciate this moment, let go and say no more, and meditate or embrace “me time.” It’s our hope that you’ll finish this episode feeling better about what you’re already doing so well, being a bit easier on yourself as you intentionally review some realistic shifts that you might be able to make for an even more flowing, joyful life.
3.) 3 Core Pillars of Building a Powerful Mindset – with Ben Yeh – After a stable, lucrative career as a Forbes 500 investment officer, Ben Yeh leaned into his deeper calling as a Business & Transformation Coach, helping other entrepreneurs align their direction, strategy, and execution. Most significantly, Ben empowers others to build stronger self-esteem and deeper self-confidence to impact every facet of everyday life using his three core pillars of building a powerful mindset: exercising your imagination, voice, and intuition. Today on THRIVE, he breaks each down and helps you gain clarity on what you see, hear, and feel internally, and how that can transform your view of self and of the world. You’ll also bust through limiting beliefs and learn specific steps to re-program your subconscious mind, which just might feel like free therapy and a hug.
4.) My Favorite Advice on Intentional Parenting – with Destini Davis – This episode is a true treat for parents who want to THRIVE. Destini is a certified parenting coach, a social media rockstar, the author of Very Intentional Parenting, and one of my personal FAVORITE people to follow on Instagram. Her advice today is equal parts practical and applicable. We talk about how to build better connections with your kids and challenge the idea of “discipline” as means of teaching instead of punishing. We talk about transitioning from being “the yeller” parent to better regulating your own emotions in tough parenting moments, and we talk about actual scripts to use to get through high emotion, high tension situations like a child hitting or acting out. Destini is all about data collection, so you’ll finish this episode feeling more equipped as a mom (or dad!), and better able to hold boundaries compassionately and parent calmly, learning your kid, what works, and what doesn’t.
OCTOBER’S BESTSELLERS:
Top sellers are pulled from my analytics data, where I can see what YOU guys shopped + clicked the most all month long! No worries – it doesn’t tell me what all was in someone’s cart, or who bought what? But it’s helpful for me to see what’s most popular with the CURowd, and hopefully helpful/fun for YOU to see what fellow readers are shopping, too!
1.) Amazon slippers – a bestseller for years now, maybe? Such a soft, affordable alternative to the always-popular $85 UGGs!
2.) Family Cinderella costume – last year’s family costume was a big hit on Pinterest this year – all Amazon finds!
3.) Walmart rubbed tunic – One of my favorite finds of the month – a $16 staple that’s SO soft and perfect for layering! I have black + the neutral!
4.) Amazon kids doodle board – We lovelovelove this for car rides or restaurant visits especially; keeps Liv creatively entertained with no mess. Great gift idea for kiddos!
5.) Olivia’s dress – A cute little Target find for toddler girls.
6.) Maybelline lippy – Forever one of my favorite drugstore lip formulas. Applies like a balm, wears like a liquid lipstick, not drying, and under $10!
7.) Spelling learning puzzle – A FABULOUS learning tool – and one that Olivia is totally into!!! It’s great for teaching easy sight words while also helping their dexterity.
8.) Amazon flower garden – Another kiddo gift idea here – the OG has two sets. Also great for dexterity and problem solving skills, keeps them occupied for indepdendent play, and also works great for collaborative play!
9.) Colleen Rothschild peel pads – AHHH SO GOOD. I’ve been talking your ear off about these on Instagram Stories lately, but for good reason. They’re a spa-strength formula, but the entire tub of 60 pads costs less than one spa facial – and it’ll last you 2-4 months.
10.) Walmart bum bag lookalike – The designer look for less…MUCH less!!!
