New year, same me…I’m still over here with a penchant for *finishing* things, especially beauty products. This round of Beauty Empties (thankfully) has more W’s than L’s, but nonetheless we’re sharing the good, the bad, the emptied of hair, body, and beauty products lately. Cue the theme song…let’s go through my trash!
(The product names in pink are all clickable for your reference + restocking!)
LIVING PROOF RESTORE SHAMPOO + CONDITIONER
I’ve been a Living Proof gal for years…I don’t think I’ve ever met an LP product I didn’t like. No surprise this shampoo/conditioner duo was no different – I’m going to be re-purchasing this stuff in the value-size jugs!
TREE HUT COCO COLADA FOAMING BODY WASH
Tree Hut has long been one of my favorite beauty brands for sulfate-free body washes that don’t break the bank. They’re clean formulas BUT ALSO smell totally fabulous. This one is like vacation in a bottle.
TREE HUT STRAWBERRY FOAMING BODY WASH
Same but different. Just a fruitier take on the above. 🙂
ICONIC LONDON PREP SET GLOW SPRAY
One of my FAVORITE setting sprays ever. It’s so glowy and beautiful and an absolute re-purchase for me! (It’s what I use in my spring makeup routine always!)
I don’t wash my face traditionally in the mornings; rather, I use a micellar water or similar variety to just lightly cleanse on a cotton pad, removing nighttime product and giving a fresh template for serums, moisturizer, SPF, and any makeup of the day. This isn’t micellar perse but has Vitamin-C inside for added antioxidant benefit, brightening, and apparently a slue of other benefits: strengthening your natural barrier, reducing sun and free radical damage, gently exfoliating, and lightly hydrating. No complaints here – I used every last drop.
pH BALANCED SECRET SHOWER FRESH ANTIPERSPIRANT/DEODORANT
I’m in my natural deodorant era, but this is one last antiperspirant that I keep on hand just in case I really need it for some reason??? Namely because I was a Secret girlie since the 6th grade and still get occasional ~anxiety~ if I’m using my natural deo but know I’ll be sweating from nerves or something and will be in public and can’t risk a…smell? You know? Ha!
NEUTROGENA OIL-FREE EYE MAKEUP REMOVER
This stuff is always a tried and true – it gets the job done. Only complaint is even though it’s labeled “oil-free,” it still feels a bit oily in my opinion? I end up using and then rinsing my eyes with a quick water splash before calling it a night.
KIRKLAND DAILY FACIAL TOWELETTES
I’m proud to say I haven’t bought face wipes in a HOT sec – but I did finish this pack from Costco and have a pack in my toiletry bag for travel emergencies. Does a decent enough job at getting everything off…I’m just nixing makeup wipes as much as possible altogether since they’re really not great for your skin.
NAVY PEBBLE BEACH DRY TEXTURE SPRAY
This stuff is FABULOUS if you want volume. Like, VA VA VOOM volume! It’s one of my top three texture/volumizing sprays, hands down. I always have a bottle!
MISS MOUTH’S MESSY EATER STAIN TREATER
A true miracle worker – and the mamas said amen. This stuff gets stains out before your very eyes. For some, like raspberries or strawberries, it literally vanishes upon spraying. For others it just takes a spritz and then a regular wash cycle and it comes out good as new! At this point I’ll only be buying the bigger spray bottle because it’s a laundry room essential (although I keep a smaller bottle in my bag or car for on-the-go treatment). It’s also non-toxic, which we lovelovelove to see.
TULA ANTIOXIDANT WATER PURIFYING TONER
I’m a sucker for face sprays. There’s just something therapeutic to me…I always have one at my desk for a midday spritz and refresh! This one is lovely – it’s got a light smell thanks to the wild mint leaf (which helps with toning and pore refining), green tea (which helps protect again blue light damage), cucumber water (which helps soothe and calm)…so overall, it’s lovely. Code COMINGUPROSES will take an additional 20% off at checkout. 🙂
TARTE FOUNDCEALER MULTI-TASKING FOUNDATION
I *enjoyed* this foundation. It was pretty full coverage without being heavy. The added SPF is a nice bonus, but don’t rely on makeup SPF for the day – it’s more of a marketing thing because you need AN ABSURD AMOUNT of the makeup to actually get the noted SPF coverage. I recommend using your regular SPF (this one is my favorite!) underneath your favorite makeup for maximum effect!
Very much did NOT like this lip balm. Didn’t finish it. IDK if it was just my tube or what, but it was…kinda lumpy? Weird texture, wasn’t a fan of the taste/smell, didn’t feel supremely hydrating…hard pass.
COLLEEN ROTHSCHILD QUENCH & SHINE RESTORATIVE MASK
A FAB hair mask. Now, the smell is pretty strong/distinct…to me, it feels like a fancy fragrance that reminds you of a family member at a holiday? Not BAD by any means, just strong! But it makes your hair feel amazing afterwards. (Code ERICA20 should also work to take 20% off your entire CRB order!)
LIVING PROOF TRIPLE BOND COMPLEX
This is LP’s newest leave-in treatment meant to be used weekly to rebuild your hair structure (aka, fix damage!). It’s apparently patent-pending technology to make hair 8x stronger, smoother, and shinier after one use. Also protects heat again 450 degrees – we lovelovelove to see it. My only complaint is that I wish there was a bigger bottle!
MAYBELLINE MASTER PRECISE EYE LINER
I used this soft pen liner until it was totally dried up (and before I switched to not really using liner that often anymore!). I really liked how firm the tip stayed while still being soft enough to be flexible, if that makes sense…I always felt like I had good control over the pen without being an eyeliner expert.
In contrast, this was a much softer brush…BUT, still had good control. I have a handful of these in my collection and I’ve always liked the finish.
