HAPPY MONDAY! Today’s post is another in the stream of “more everyday life content por favor” comments that I got from y’all in the CUR reader survey. You wanted more “real life” things thrown in the mix, so ask and ye shall receive. I’m hopping on the “currently” bandwagon, where I share a bunch of in-the-moment things and apparently it’s interesting? IDK, you be the judge. 😉 Really, I just reaaaaaaaally had to share a full shoot of with ya. When I featured it on Instastories last week, you guys flipped your ish – and rightfully so. I mean, it’s adorable. Pointblankperiod.
I’ve seen “Currently” posts circulate on the interwebs before, and truthfully, I never found them too appealing – until I found some that were, and they were because they were real + raw + FUNNY. Not just a to-do list, but something worth reading. So hopefully this falls in that latter category for y’all and you don’t regret asking for more day-to-day sorta content. HA. 😉

WEARING // This insanely adorable, insanely soft, insanely fun, insanely affordable . LAWDY, can we say #obsessed? I wore it on Instastories last week and immediately got ALL THE Q’s about where it’s from, how to buy it, etc because it’s just such an eyecatcher. It’s so unique! It’s soft as cashmere (seriously), has the best sleeve length for pairing with some fun bracelets, it comes in 2 other colors…and it’s $29. You actually can’t beat it.
MAKING // Travel plans for 2018. This girl’s got a serious case of the beach blues, as yesterday I was shooting next to dirty snow. Totally downing my Insta aesthetic over here, Mother Nature.
LISTENING TO // The CUR Q1 playlist! Have ya heard? It’s bombdotcom, if I do say so myself. It artfully starts with a few tunes to get your day going strong (one was even the song I had as my alarm for most of high school, cos Lord knows you need serious motivation for that). Then it transitions to good songs for the background while you work through the day. And THEN, it transitions again to some JAMS to ring out the workday and getcha groovin’ for being done.
WISHING // That I had focused on cardio sooner. I’ve got my first OrangeTheory Fitness class today, and apparently it’s a loooooot more cardio-intensive than my current workout routine. Like, the whole point is cardio. I feel like Rebel Wilson in Pitch Perfect – “don’t put me down for cardio.” As a former cross country runner + track girl, you’d think I’d be all about it – but really, I think countless days running endless miles at the crack o’ dawn in the pouring rain, in the freezing cold, in lightning storms (seriously, my coach is going to have to answer to that one day)…really, it just scarred me forevermore. Nothankyou. Stay tuned…
CRUSHING ON // I mean…duh. Also Zac Efron in The Greatest Showman…also duh.
EATING // Too much Boom Chicka Pop and leftover Pad Thai. My mom managed to find ONE sole bag of Boom Chicka Pop’s Christmas classic – dark chocolate kettle corn – on clearance at Walmart. When she passed that on to me, my soul sang. And my stomach, since I ate the whole thing in one day.
IGNORING // The pile of “delicates” laundry in my basket needing doing. My motto: Save water ’til you’ve run outta undies. 😉
EXCITED FOR // MY GUCCI BAG TO ARRIVE!!!!!! You guys. I DID IT. Remember when I said I was going to incentivize myself absurdly to reach my goals this year? Welp, that involved assigning the biggest goals the biggest rewards. I have 3 goals, each corresponding to a Gucci bag. Y’all know I’m the queen of designer LOOKALIKES over here – not the queen of actual designer anything. So spending upwards of $1,000 on a friggin’ bag is CRAY CRAY to me. But. I do lovelovelove me Gucci bags. Specifically, the 3 Gucci bags on my goals board. Immediately upon setting those goals, somehow I managed to reach one – which is NUTSO, because they’re all goals I’ve been workoing towards for-freakin’-ever. So I SWEAR it was just adding that Gucci at the goal line that made it happen. Thank you, Jesus. Come to mama.
THINKING ABOUT // Doing some Instagram Lives with you guys. Strike that – it’s definitely happening. It’s just a matter of WHEN. On IG itself, some of y’all said Tuesday nights is best – yeah? “Community” is a big buzzword of the year around these rosy parts, and one big way we’re making that happen is by just hanging out live on the internet with wine. Because what’s more community than that? Maybe we’ll talk about books while we’re at it or play virtual bridge. Or knit? IDK, I’m just ready for whatever.
SCHEDULING // New York Fashion Week 2018! February’s NYFW is quickly a-comin’, so I’ve been trying to get my act together to do my due diligence and get #scheduled. GRATEFUL FOR // My husband, who always tag teams to deep clean the house every Saturday or Sunday. Bless his heart.
PROCRASTINATING WITH // Continually refreshing my cart to see if anything magically goes on sale. Can’t scare my husband when the UPS man comes around. Or when he sees my credit card statement. #WhatHeDoesntKnowWontHurtHim 😉 But I’m actually the WORST at online shopping sometimes. I put things in my cart and then just don’t order – I wait “just in case” a sale happens. But of course, lo and behold, all the good stuff is sold out as soon as it hits sale – because apparently I’m not the only looneytoon who does this trick. And then I’m bummed and walk around moping all day because the heart-shaped sunglasses I wanted sold out and I didn’t just pull the trigger when I first fell in lovelovelove. WHY, E. WHY.
WATCHING // The Bachelor tonight. Anyone else reaaaaally not feelin’ the girls this season? OR the guy????? I’m not the biggest Arie fan, and I guess that makes it even worse cos I’m not a fan in the slightest of any of the girls. I mean, some are better than others – but some are just so cringey it ain’t even funny. #BibianaForBachelorette
DREAMING ABOUT // Being on a beach in Mexico with a margarita in one hand and a good book in the other. Speaking of books, here are 21 to add to your reading list!
