Calling all my working women – today’s workwear post is fo’ you! Going through my own fall closet, I found quite a few blazers and was fondly reminiscing about my days at UPenn (a super pre-professional campus where business casual dressing is the norm) and in internships (I had 5+ back in the day!). I was a big blazer girl. I mean, the right blazer can DO THINGS for your look.
Besides that, the right blazer can do a real number on your confidence. Tell me you don’t pull on a blazer and instantly feel more badass. TELL ME. It just does things for ya, I swear. The rest of your outfit could be combat boots and a t-shirt and you’ll STILL feel like the baddest betch on the block because you’re rocking a blazer and that’s just what blazers do.
But, sometimes blazers – and good workwear in general – can cost a paycheck or two. And ain’t nobody got time – sometimes, you just want to find a few new fun pieces that work for work without bankrupting you in the process. I figured it would be helpful/valuable/worthwhile to round up 5 fun blazers for the office, all of which are also AFFORDABLE blazers (they’re all under $40!).
P.S. I went true to sizing in picking up each piece, and they run accordingly!

1.)
I feel the FEELS in this pretty pink blazer. It actually comes in the coolest set – with shorts! I wore the set to present at a conference this summer, and I felt like a rockstar – and was complimented all day long on the look. It’s $32 for the SET, which is 100% worth it and basically the epitome of affordable blazers since you get SHORTS, too. You can wear it as an outfit for fun, or separate the pieces like I did here since the shorts aren’t necessarily an office-appropriate look. 🙂
If pink feels too poppy for you, no worries – this specific blazer set comes in a few colors! (cobalt blue, yellow, neon green, red, + black!)
2.) (with a twist!)
That twist being leopard print – is anyone surprised? No one? Thought so. 😉 Totally fun, discreet printed pop on an otherwise more-professional blazer. Who says black needs to be boring? And who says a good, classic black blazer can’t also be in the affordable blazers category? You seriously don’t need to spend the big bucks at Ann Taylor JUST because you think that’s what makes it classic!
This one is only $20, and I’m definitely impressed with the quality.
3.)
This plaid coat blazer isn’t new to CUR (blogged it here!). It’s a bit heavier/bulkier than typical blazers, but it works for the office when styled thoughtfully. It’s especially helpful in colder months (hello, winter) when you want the layering but don’t necessarily want to totally DE-layer once you get to work.
$30 and runs a bit oversized (it’s called “boxy,” which feels accurate!).
I recommend wearing over snugger fitting pieces, especially since it’s longer – I’m wearing skinny jeans here, and it gives that nice “balanced” feel that I preach. 😉
4.)
I think this blazer would make Olivia Pope proud. 😉 It’s definitely a more formal look, but I like that since it would work for more business professional settings (ie, a corporate boardroom) while having a totally feminine flair in the sleeves. ALSO, this particular blazer would work dressed up NOT for work, for something like a winter wedding or party.
Only $18, which is a bit shocking TBH and definitely an affordable blazer at its finest. It feels so luxe. And maybe a part of me felt like a magical wizard lay wearing it, too? Ha!
5.)
Last but certainly not least, we’re rocking a blazer DRESS. This piece in particular has me stoked. Blazer dresses are very IN this season. But, in researching blazer dresses, it’s hard to find ones that are actually appropriate – one that would actually work for work, and not just in a “sexy detective” scene – ha! Oftentimes, I think blazer dresses can just end up looking like you forgot your clothes underneath. Which might work when you call it “fashion,” but not for, you know, actual work. This one, though, takes the cake.
It looks + feels so classy. My mom was SHOOK when she saw it. It’s long enough at the hemline + high enough at the neckline, and the pleated ruffle detailing is the PRETTIEST, coolest twist.
Also, it’s only $18. (!!!!)
Totally FUN take on a classic blazer – classic AFFORDABLE blazers at that – and I’m here for it.
Which of these fun, affordable blazers would you be most likely to wear to work?
