Welp, this has been a long time coming. I know our room reveals from our new house have been slowly + steadily hitting the blog, especially given that we moved in May. I blame life. 😉 But better late than never amiright? Today I’m finally sharing our master! Our master bedroom decor has been a work in progress since we moved in. Thanks to some maaaaaaajor pandemic delivery delays, we were without a bed in the master for about four months, so we FINALLY feel like the room is more or less together. 😉
We did our master bedroom decor in partnership with Raymour & Flanigan – an easy decision since literally ALL of our furniture from our townhouse was from Raymour! Since we bought all of that back in 2016, we weren’t necessarily sure of how well everything would hold up back then, or whether or not we’d be taking it all with us to our new home now. But lo and behold, it’s all held up SO WELL – which speaks volumes, I’d say, given that it all saw three cats, two adults, and one crazy high energy baby/toddler in its time thus far. 😉 The only thing we were really “replacing” was our OLD master bedroom decor, namely because I had a different vibe I was going for in this space (namely, whiter + brighter!). I blogged our modern farmhouse dining room reveal already with our “old” set – still in great shape!
We got the Bay Creek bedroom set, minus the bed. For our bed, we got this headboard from Raymour & Flanigan. I knew I wanted a tufted headboard that was NOT linen, or some other tightly woven upholstery that a cat could potentially scratch up since that had happened a bit with our last bed. So this rich velvet tufted headboard was exactly the vision in my head!
My biggest goal with the space was to make it a really relaxing sanctuary for us. So instead of just going with what we might like aesthetically for master bedroom decor, I tried to add proven elements of peace LOL, like incorporating lavender (in both color, as well as an artifical sprig on the nightstand and lavender aromatherapy spray to spritz over the bed at nighttime) and greenery. I really lovelovelove this artificial plant because it looks real and is a true STEAL for the price point – I’ve seen other fake plants this size for literally triple the price at Target even, so I recommend snagging if you’re in the market!
The Bay Creek bedroom set from Raymour & Flanigan was a great option for us since it’s pretty simple but chic, more modern-looking, and functional. We got the nightstand, the bedroom dresser, and the dresser mirror, as well as the larger chest of drawers.
Since the wall space really only allowed for one nightstand comfortably next to a king size bed, I wanted another practical solution for the other side (my side). I thought of doing a little bookshelf that could hold our couple-y books (devotionals, parenting books, couple’s journals, etc) while doubling as a tabletop surface to hold my Bible, glasses, etc) and here we are! Perfect fit. 🙂
GOOD NEWS – for all of my local-ish friends (I say “local-ish” since Raymour & Flanigan is a regional retailer, mostly along the East Coast!), Raymour & Flanigan’s President Day Sale is happening already, so everything we have is currently on sale! Woo!
My parents are in the process of finally re-doing a lot in their own home, too, and have also been getting so much from them beyond master bedroom decor, since their quality is just top notch.
I’ve still got a few pieces on my list to pick up, like a storage bench to hold extra blankets and sheet sets that would go underneath our big wedding canvas prints, and maybe a piece of art with lyrics to a favorite song for underneath the proposal pictures over our bed.
Of course, there’s a sneak peek above, but the master bedroom actually extends and has a “sitting room” space where my makeup vanity, shoe shelves, floor mirror, + where our closets are, as well as the entrance to the master bathroom. But since that’s so much extra stuff, I figured I’d share that in a second post…also since I have to clean my closet first. HA. 😉
Do you like our master bedroom decor so far?
Which room reveal from our new house would you like to see next?? And do you have a Raymour & Flanigan near you?
