Why is it SO DANG HARD to find cute swimsuits that don’t show your whole butt?!? I mean, I’m all for a cheeky moment sometimes…but for running around in the water or doing something beyond, oh I don’t know, standing still for a picture, it’s just not practical – or comfortable. I don’t want to walk on the beach in a thong. I don’t want to worry about my hoohah hanging out, or about some other inevitable wardrobe malfunction when you’ve got but a one strip of fabric separating your goods from the sand. I mean really, ain’t nobody got time! Not sure if it’s a product of getting older or having a toddler (or both?), but I always find myself reaching for a cute one piece. Not having to fidget or fuss is always a plus! Last year I blogged some one AND two pieces in a haul featuring more modest swimsuits, and it was a smash hit (and many of those are still in stock, so open that post in a new tab for a few more options if ya want/need!). But I wanted to round up a few faves specifically for my one piece lovers in the house! Luckily, these are not your grandma’s one piece swimsuits – oh no. In going through my own collection to refresh everything for the season, I found 10 favorite one piece swimsuits – all of which I got on Amazon, for LESS THAN $30.
I own every single one of the one piece swimsuits in today’s haul (obviously) – so I can give you firsthand experience and feedback beyond other customer reviews on Amazon. They’re all full coverage bottoms (bless up), and all stay in place well – which is important to me, since if I’m wearing a swimsuit anymore, I’m probably chasing a very busy, very fast 2.5-year-old in one, too. 😉 AND they all have cups up top!
ALSO ALSO one more thing before diving in because it’s always worth repeating…
Every body is a beach body.
You don’t need to have a six-pack to wear a bikini, and you don’t need to be a mom to rock a one-piece, and you don’t need to have cellulite-free thighs to run Baywatch-style on the shoreline. I’ve got cellulite myself and rolls under my butt cheeks and it’s all OKAY. I don’t retouch/photoshop my photos ever because I never want to be contributing to the already-negative picture that society tends to paint of women achieving + maintaining “perfection” that’s just not real.
So. Even though yes, this post is specific to one piece swimsuits and I’m a mom and living life in a one piece as a mom can be very easy and comfortable for functional reasons – if you feel like wearing an itty bitty bikini poolside with your babies, you do you boo.
1.) Striped ruffle – $32.99
Feels a bit sailor-esque or like it belongs in a candy shop – and I’m here for it. This run ruffled striped number is under $30 with nearly 3,000 5-star reviews. It comes in a few other stripe colors, along with a pretty floral + a solid coral! I have MANY swimmies – both one piece swimsuits + bikinis – from this brand and they never disappoint.
2.) Black mesh bestseller – $32.99
This one piece is actually a #1 bestselling one piece swimsuit on all of Amazon – and for good reason! It’s different, chic, sexy while being modest, stays put…checks off all the boxes! Nearly 9,000 5-star reviews and comes in a TON of colorways, both solids and prints.
3.) Tropical palm print – $32.99
This exact tropical palm print seems to be out of stock at the moment, but luckily, the swimmy comes in a whole array of other colorway options, from florals to stripes. It’s probably the most revealing of the bunch with the plunging neckline, but still functional and fun!
4.) Polka dot tie-front – $31.99
This was a favorite one piece swimsuit find last season (wearing on the beach here!), but I HAD to include again here – because it’s such a winner winner chicken dinner and one of Amazon’s best.
5.) White ruffled – $32.99
Never did I think I’d see the day where I’d don an all-white swimmy – but no need to fear! This is a well-made, fuller coverage option with a flattering ruffle – and it DOES come in other beautiful solid colors if you’re totally opposed to white. 😉
6.) Neon colorblock – $27.99
For a more modest one piece swimsuit, this one takes the cake – and is still cute! The bright neon colorblocking screams summer fun – but it also comes in other fun colorblocks, like pink/blue (feels like cotton candy), classic black and white, neutral white and tan, red/blue (great for Memorial Day or 4th of July!), and bright yellows or greens!
7.) Cocoa one-shoulder – $32.99
This is one I’ve been wearing weekly to take Liv to swim lessons – and it stays put! It’s a bit different with the off-shoulder and side cut out, which makes it fun. I lovelovelove this pretty cocoa, but this teal is also SO PRETTY and would look great over a faux tan!
8.) Black mesh front – $19.99 (Sold out, similar style here!)
The mesh on the front of this swimmy takes the cake. It’s definitely a more modest option, but with a chic grownup twist! Also comes in cobalt and a bright orange, but sometimes nothing beats a good basic black. Unfortunately, it’s sold out, but here is a similar style!
9.) Pink high-neck halter – $29.99
With nearly 20,000 5-star reviews, this bestselling swimmy has got it goin’ ON. It’s absurdly flattering with ruching in all the right places. It’s a full coverage booty and a higher-neck halter while still having a mesh front to show a little skin, and it’s just really, really comfortable. My mom has this one in her cart!
10.) Plum scallop top – $29.99
Another one from last season back at it again because it’s just too good! (Wearing here on our family beach trip!). BUT BUT BUT I think it’s out of stock since shooting – SO SAD and so sorry. To make up for it, here are a few similar options I think you’ll like:
