Christine Errico knew no “easy” life. Born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate, she was bullied torturously throughout school, experienced an abusive marriage, struggled with substance abuse, and endured years of being told she would never amount to anything, and that her facial difference meant she was also mentally challenged. Today, many years and over 20 surgeries later, Christine is an advocate for the cleft community, working with Smile Train to help strengthen global communications and the cleft community in the United States. She’s also a college professor with a PhD in accounting and owns multiple businesses, with a never-give-up attitude. Christine’s resilience, strength and perspective is refreshing and inspiring; in this episode she shares confidence boosting tips and her favorite ways to find hope when facing one obstacle after another.
