Helloooooo, Friday! We’ve been waiting for you since last Friday. 😉 And hello last day of November – where the heck did the month go?! There’s literally less than a month left until Christmas and just about a month to go before 2019. Like…what? I can’t even *begin* to fathom that – so I won’t, and I’ll save that for a later post. 😉 Today we’re talkin’ traveling – specifically, traveling for the holidays. Do you have any fun upcoming trips, or traditional plans happening?
The holidays this year have been totally shaken up given everything happening with/to Olivia, so we aren’t globetrotting (heck, even state-trotting) anytime soon. BUT, even for overnighters, it’s always important to pack smart! I’m typically pretty stellar at the ol’ overnight bag, if I do say so myself, since I’m Type A and broke it down to a science. 😉 But its importance has all been reinforced to us with all of our hospital runs since Olivia was born back in October. The ~worst~ things to do are to a.) not have things ready to go ahead of time, b.) not have travel-friendly sizes on hand, and c.) not have actually *good* products on hand, instead relying on crappy leftover hotel samples from that trip to Florida last summer that were stashed in a toiletry bag and almost-forever forgotten.
When I’m traveling, I want my favorite products + favorite ingredients available. Ain’t nobody got time to transfer containers, and I’m not always wanting to bring expensive or more luxurious product on a trip, in case something spills or gets lost en route. So I’m V STOKED about some new , and couldn’t wait to share ’em here with you (remember this festive Physicians Formula look from this time last year?) I think you’ll loveloveLOVE for any holiday travels. And also for stockings. Make that list and check it twice. 😉
P.S. I just saw that you can get 40% off everything with code CM40, so #AddToCart!
First up, the . The thing I cannot wait for at the end of a long day (especially when traveling), is taking off my makeup + contacts (and bra – ha!) and curling up in sweats. But I cannot STAND eye makeup removers that are either a.) greasy, b.) ineffective, or c) make my eyes burn. If I’m rubbing the living daylights outta my eyes and STILL have mascara on…Houston, we have a problem. This stuff is great for more sensitive skin especially, since it’s made with nourishing coconut milk to just melt off makeup in as non-irritating a way as possible. And it doesn’t leave behind a greasy residue at all – bless up. Apply a tiny little dollop to your fingertips, then apply directly to your eye area; wipe off gently with a warm, wet washcloth.
Next, the . I’ve been hesitant in the past to try cleansing balms, as I’ve found some to be a.) greasy, and b.) totally ineffective. They also haven’t been the most travel-friendly to me in the past, since ones I’ve had have been in bigger tubs – and ain’t nobody got time (or the need) for that when packing for a long weekend trip (heck, even a week’s vacation!). This little green tub is a perfect size to throw in a toiletry bag, and a little bit goes a long way. It’s formulated to remove makeup, deep clean clogged pores, and hydrate skin; key ingredients to look out for are natural matcha green tea, bamboo shoot, + lotus extracts, besides antioxidants. Lovelovelove the travel-friendly container for no spills or messes, and that it’s made for all skin types! I first take about a quarter-sized amount in my fingertips, then massage into my skin before rinsing with warm water. If it’s a heavier makeup day, I’ll massage off using a warm washcloth gently, for an even deeper clean. (I don’t use my FOREO or Clarisonic with it, though, since it is a thicker formula meant to really hydrate while deep cleaning!)
Lastly, whether you’re doing a morning OR evening skincare routine, there’s a skin boosting shot for that. 😉 These little Vitamin skin boosting shots are the COOLEST, and there are 3 to choose from; one of which I’d recommend especially for mornings, while the other two are more nighttime appropriate. The (and the “morning” option, I’d say!), formulated with Vitamin C to brighten, licorice to reduce dark spots, + B3 to improve your overall complexion. The – it’s got hyaluronic acid to hydrate, Vitamin E to nourish, + Aloe Vera to soothe! I was chatting skincare with one of my girlfriends recently, and she called me out for being “the hyaluronic acid girl.” I think it’s one of my fave ingredients since I feel perpetually DE-hydrated (another thing my girlfriends can call me out on – ha!), and I remember once reading in a magazine that a single gram of Hyaluronic acid can hold up to six liters of water in it. So like, sign a sistah up. Our bodies make it naturally, but it’s always good to apply topically, too, especially for fellow dehydrated chicas in da house. 😉 Extra hydration never hurts! Last up is the purple potion – the . Inside is Vitamin A (used often in anything anti-aging), red algae to firm, + vegan collagen to restore skin’s elasticity.
Each has this hydrogel encapsulated technology, which explains the funky droplets inside each jar – they’re not just to be cute! 😉
Do you have any travel-friendly skincare favorites? And have you tried the new Physicians Formula skincare launch yet?
Let me know if ya do – and I wanna know your holiday travel plans! What’s upcoming on your calendar?
Happy almost WEEKEND.
