If there’s one piece that’s stood the test of time for a classic look, it’s the pleated midi skirt. Especially if you’re not one for sequins or sparkles for the holidays, it still makes for a pretty, festive outfit without the extra glitz. Always a great option for something like Christmas Eve church service or an office holiday party. It’s a great way to be a bit more modest but still totally seasonal and fun!
My pleated midi skirt is a bit too long on me, but I couldn’t bother to get it hemmed – ha! Hopefully this still makes for some solid outfit inspiration for something on your social events calendar this season. 😉

Since most pleated midi skirts are fitted up top, it’s a great way to highlight your waist without feeling restrictive around your stomach (because Lord knows we need room for pie at holiday parties). Pair with a bodysuit to further accentuate the waist like I did here, or wear a snugger-fitting top and add a belt like this to get the same effect.
This bodysuit is an Amazon find; it’s one of my favorite labels for bodysuits on Amazon because they’ve got fuller-coverage booties. While I normally stay true to size, I’d recommend sizing up one with this exact bodysuit since it’s definitely a bit snugger/to-the-T on me, and it would probably be a *bit* more comfortable with more wiggle room. 😉 Currently on sale for under $18, too!
This is the BEST wireless bra for tight bodysuits – it shows NOTHING underneath, even with a skin-tight top, and it feels like wearing nothing. Could not recommend it enough!!!
The little initial necklace I’m wearing here was a top seller from the year on CUR; it was a Nordstrom Sale find that my mom and I both snagged, but I just lovelovelove how pretty and dainty it is for everyday wear.
Lastly, the “finishing touches” of this look – the shoes + headband. I unfortunately can’t find the shoes still in stock for the life of me (I bought them a few years back already), but I’ve linked a few similar options for a good black statement pump in the widget below. My polka dot headband is also a few years old, but I lovelovelove this headband pack from Amazon; it’s one of the only sets of headbands I’ve come across that doesn’t cause ANY head pain, even with all-day wear.
How would you wear a pleated midi skirt for the holidays?
