The holidays are here, and I’m guessing there are a *few* more events on everyone’s social calendars than this time last year. 😉 I think there’s something SO fun about throwing on some sparkles for a festive night out, even if the night involves staying IN at a holiday house party with friends. These exact sequin leggings were a find from Express a few holiday seasons ago already, but I’ve found a few similar options at even more affordable price points this year. With statement pieces like this that you likely won’t be whipping out for regular wear, I recommend saving money instead of splurging (while this $198 Commando pair may very well be the best *quality* of the lot, you might not get nearly $200 worth of wear from sequin leggings this season – ha!). Personally, if I’m going to “invest” in a piece, I try to ensure it’s something I’ll get my money’s worth from in cost per wear – like a pair of sneakers when I know I wear sneakers near-daily, or a versatile bag when bebopping from pre-school pickup to errands.

Especially with sequins on the bottom, I paired with something more “solid” to not have too many textures clashing. Sometimes getting dressed this time of year can be a real pain temperature-wise; it’s freezing outside, but the heat is cranked INside, so it can be hard to regulate and plan outfits accordingly.
