FRIDAY! WOOOO!! I’m so ready for the weekend – you? Nothing better than waking up on a FriYAY knowing there’s just a few hours standing between you and happy hour. Although I have to work most of the weekend – ha!
Comin’ atcha with some spring style today – although it doesn’t quite feel like spring yet in Philly. Actually, it’s the opposite. It’s like the arctic tundra and I’m freezing my buns off. Dramatic? Maybe. But it’s still so COLD, YO. And Mother Nature is such a tease. One day it’s 45 with blustery winds, the next it’s 30 with snow, the next it’s 68 and sunny! I keep pulling out my parka for the friggin’ tundra and then swapping it out for a light trench. Like, whaaaaaat? How’s a girl to dress in this madness? What’s a girl to wear?!
No worries, gotcha covered. 😉
I’ve got a lil’ formula of sorts down below for ya, for dressing for spring when the weather is still freezing like winter. AKA this super awkward season between winter and spring. Wing? Sprinter? Aiiiiight let’s begin.
SPRING STYLE OUTFIT DETAILS:
(Really perfect cardigan to transition to spring, since it’s cozy AF, but the color screams springtime! Suuuuuper soft knit, too.) // White bodysuit (only $8 – size up if you have a long torso like me!) // High-waisted 70th Anniversary Wrangler jeans (c/o) // (on clearance for $32.28!) // // // All makeup is Neutrogena as seen here – //
This specific look feels suuuuuper 70’s chic to me. I mean, these Wrangler’s are literally for their 70th anniversary, and these cheapo Forever 21 sunnies will forever be in my collection cos they feel so retro + fun! Ultimately, this entire look can be broken down into a few key principles that apply in this wing/sprinter weather. One second it’s maybe warming up, the next second it’s polar, then it’s sunny, then it’s windy and the drama continues.

Spring Style = White booties
Wearing UGGs in March is just straight-up depressing. But it’s still waaaaay too cold most days to go sock-free! White in general is a perfect color for right about now – either you match the snow or you look like you’re ready for spring. Win-win. 😉 They’re a much softer, springier shade than harsher browns or blacks, and of course look more seasonally appropo than fur. The key for transitioning to spring is oftentimes in lightening up across the board, from color palettes to fabrics and textures. So nix the shearling linings and grab patent white instead!
My own white booties are on clearance for $32.38, so it’s a perfect time to pick up a pair.

Spring Style = Lighter/medium wash denim
Lighten up!!! Time to retire the darker washed denim for the season. Usually florals + pastels are where it’s at for spring style, but since it’s not quite leg-baring weather yet…jeans are still the name of the game. These Wrangler’s are fun since they’re a really unique medium blue wash. But really, anything that’s not your darkest indigo will do!
always has great light wash options, as does .

Spring Style = Bright colored cardigans
Since it’s def not warm enough (yet) to call off sweater weather, it’s key to swap out darker shades for lighter, brighter hues. Sensing a theme yet? 😉
This sweater specifically is bombdotcom because it’s a.) colorful AF and b.) cozy AF. The perfect combo for dressing for warmth when it feels like winter outside, but seems like spring in stores (+ on the internet). OY. The chunky knit keeps things cozy while the color screams springtime, and I’m here for it.
J. Crew Factory is having a big extra 25% off sale, so ends up being $27.38! (Use code GOLD checkout!). Banana Republic also has a good basic option on sale in , and as well as are under $25! #bless

Spring Style = Layers on layers on layers
Layer up! This is that super awkward in-between season where it’s still freeeeeezing outside (sometimes), and then warmer inside (sometimes). Or you’ve got awk weeks where one day is 70, the next is 35. NUTS, YO. The key: layers on layers on layers. You obvi wanna be comfortable no matter the thermostat, so simply layer up to be good for colder outdoor + cozier indoor temps.
To not look totally bulky (we talked more about that here!), remember to keep the bottommost layer as slim-fitting as possible.
Short n’ sweet today, friends! Cos I do NOT wanna be the thing standing between you + your weekend. 😉
What’s your spring style when it’s still cold outside?
Any fun plans??? I’ll be working since girlfriend’s got a TON of shoots to get done before what feels like a month of traveling in April, but we’ve got some shows to catch up on in between the hubbub.
P.S. Hope y’all have the best St. Patty’s day – how are you celebrating?? Make sure you remember to get lucky on purpose. 😉
