TGIF, friends! Fridays are just so exciting, aren’t they? The week is almost over, your happy hour margarita is waiting, and the weekend is thiiiiiiiis close. Bless the heck up.
You know what else is exciting?
Really freaking good deals.
I’m talkin’ this sweater.
If you follow along on Instagram (if you aren’t yet, WYD?!? Come hang out @ericaligenza!), you might’ve caught me raving about this colorblocked pullover sweater this week as a recent pickmeup that I picked up at Walmart on a whim. I’ve shared this before about my lovelovelove affair with Walmart fashion since I’ve shopped there for YEARS (initially, not necessarily by choice since the clearance rack was just what we could afford, and ain’t no shame in that game!) But especially as of late, Walmart has seriously stepped UP their style game! I was SO stoked to get to work with them for CUR back in the summer. Not working with them for this post (sad, HMU WALMART), but equally excited to share this striped sweater with you ladies.
Really, as soon as I touched it I knew I needed to blog it for you ASAP because as soon as every blogger and her mother gets wind, it’s going to sell out. I mean, it’s fabulous.
It’s $12 and feels like straight up cashmere. I kid you not.
$12 striped sweater weater // Denim (on sale under $30) // Boots (under $50, TTS) // Gold heart necklace // Hat // Lippy (shade: Make It Happen) // Louis Vuitton Neverfull (c/o) // Designer lookalike bracelets on sale here, here, and here!
I’ve said it before (and said it again in yesterday’s #AskE post!), but I like to be able to shout out lookalikes for you girls from personal experience. So if I’m saying something is a lookalike for another piece for less, I want to be sure that it’s truly that, from every standpoint – especially quality, since that’s really where the difference might typically lie. It’s easy to make something LOOK like something else in design, but to make it truly feel like the same experience is a whole ‘nother ball game since that typically requires more expensive materials.
I own cashmere pieces that paid $100+ for (because real cashmere is just expensive like that). And y’all…this striped sweater feels like cashmere.
It’s cozy, it’s cute, it comes in other color stripes.
It’s super soft + has some stretch to it.
Its sleeves work rolled once or twice, too, if that’s your jam. And it would work by self, or layered overtop of your favorite chambray shirt or button-down. It’s warmth without bulk, which is awesome heading into fall/chillier months. And it’s colorblocked, which is a HUGE trend this fall!
Did I mention it’s only $12?!?!?!
Other things in this look to call out include:
- My denim. Favorite jeans are from here if you’re looking for great denim at an affordable pricepoint! These are currently on sale for under $30, which is UNREAL. And they’re considered “jeggings,” so you know they’ve got stretch for comfort.
- My lippy. This is THE lip crayon that I #CantStopWontStop raving about. (It’ll be making an appearance in September’s Cool Sh*t I Lovelovelove, assuredly). Katie showed up to my house yesterday wearing it in the exact same shade as me for the day (wearing Make it Happen here, but wore Treat Yourself yesterday…and no, Maybelline and I didn’t collaborate on shade names but like HOW PERFECT 😉 ).
- My arm candy. This bracelet stack is full of designer lookalikes that are all on sale right now, making them even more affordable. I linked my exact pieces above + in the widget in this post!
- My heart necklace. This would be a perfect giftable for your mom, sister, best friend, etc. It’s so pretty + unique, first off. But it also comes on the prettiest paper with a scripture verse (it’s from a Christian company!). It’s 14K gold over sterling silver for only $30, which is fabulous if you ask me!
Really, just HAD to share this striped sweater with you STAT. Since that’s what good friends do, amiright? 😉 It’s not available in all stores in all colors + smaller sizes are selling out fast, so I’d recommend snatching it up online before it goes for good. Especially since you can get free shipping + 2-day delivery from Walmart (bless up), it’s worth it! I’ve actually got a big order I impulse-made this week set to arrive today, so stay tuned for a little try-on haul on Instastories. 😉
How would you wear a striped sweater for fall?
Have you tried Walmart’s clothing department recently? Let me know what’s good!
