…Can we talk about Lady Gaga x Bradley Cooper’s performance of Shallow at The Oscars last night? Because, wow. And then how friggin’ cute was Rami Malek from Bohemian Rhapsody with his Best Actor speech, and him being an item with his costar??? I think this was the first time I actually watched an entire awards show, and it was a grand ol’ time.
Speaking of awards, I was nominated for an award! A CRAZY award, actually. I was nominated for the InfluenceHer Collective’s Influencer of the YEAR award! Like, what?!? Still cannot wrap my brain around that one, folks.
Since you’re here and obviously read CUR, would you take a hot sec and throw a vote my way???
This round is entirely based on your votes (and you can vote more than once! Woo!). The top three at the end of this week will move on to the next round of judging. So to get there, I need your help! If you’ve been touched by CUR in some way/shape/form, be it through a style post like this one, a Monday Mantra, some skincare help, or something else altogether, I would SO SO APPRECIATE you scrolling down to the bottom of this page and selecting my name for Influencer of the Year. 100% will not get there without you. And a huge THANKYOUSOMUCH for all of you who have already voted – the CURowd is the absolute best and I’m so blessed to have readers with hearts like yours.
OK ANYHOO. Let’s talk about striped shirts, shall we?
It has been SO MANY MONTHS since the last time we styled one thing three ways…it’s a sin. And I could not BELIEVE in poking through the archives that I hadn’t shared this tee with y’all before in this setting, since I only wear it at least once a week. This exact tee is currently out of stock, but I’m linking up quite a few similar + affordable options for ya to get the exact same look on your own! So. Let’s chat how to style a long-sleeve striped tee three different ways (when really, there are approximately 52).
Long-sleeve Striped Tee
LOOK #1:
(I wear this CONSTANTLY – such a fabulous staple with a trendy twist! Runs big – I’m in an XS) // Black denim skirt (exact one sold out, similar options from the same brand , , + ) // (c/o)
This look just screams fun, perfect for gallavanting around on a glorious spring day. (C,MON SPRING!). It’s comfy, it’s casual, it’s cute – it’s an easy breezy beautiful look that’s easily mix + matchable with other pieces already in your closet.
Step One: Long-sleeve striped tee.
Step Two: Denim jacket. Preferably with pearls. But any denim will do.
Step Three: Cute skirt. If it’s also denim, make sure it’s a different color denim than your jacket. Try matching the skirt to the stripes in your top!
Step Four: THE SHOES. Print mixing is where it’s at here, folks, juxtaposing the striped tee with leopard print shoes. I mean, if y’all know me…lovelovelove me some leopard. All the leopard. The leopard limit does not exist.
LOOK #2:
Knit blazer (this brand isn’t sold anywhere anymore – I’m SO sad about it!!!!) // (as seen styled three ways here) // // (totally customizable! Code ERICA15 will get you a 15% discount on your own!) // Lipstick (drugstore! Shade: Sweet Nectar)
One of the most highly requested things in this year’s CUR Reader Survey was for more workwear options, and this look fits that bill, folks! If I was in a 9-to-5 office, I’d be rocking some iteration of this look, like, everyday. Ha! I lovelovelove the subtle printmixing with the two different black-and-white top pieces: the long-sleeve striped tee against a knit sweater blazer. Paired with my favorite ponte pants on the bottom, which EVERY working girl needs in her wardrobe; they feel like leggings (seriously), but they look like office-appropriate pants.
ALSO, another request is for comfy shoes – y’all, these are one of the most comfortable shoes in my closet pointblankperiod – even compared to sneakers. When it comes to heels, these Day Heels from Everlane are where. it. is. AT. They’re wearable all day long with zero blisters and zero heel pain (or anywhere pain). I’m getting them in a metallic hue next! Seriously, this is the one heel that you could/should have in every color in your closet for work, since you can wear them every single day without tiring.
They’re also just super figure-flattering since the shape of the shoe so nicely hugs your foot. HIGHLY highly recommend! And obviously lovelovelove this fun poppy color for a literal pop in this look.
LOOK #3:
// Black feather pumps //
Speaking of pops of color, these pink pants are exactly that! Cigarette pants are one of my favorite styles to wear, since they work so beautifully to show off your shoes. 😉 This looks put the spotlight on the top itself, paired simply with bold pants and bold shoes for a pulled-together combo.
I lovelovelove this look for a fun night out with the girls! The pants + shoes are obviously a party, so they really play up an otherwise more simple striped top.
What’s your favorite way to style a long-sleeve striped tee?
