BEAUTY EMPTIES, Vol. 9

TGIF. 🙂 I know I’ve been pretty MIA here lately compared to usual…so much ~stuff~ going on behind-the-scenes in this season and in my heart, so I’m hoping to be back to regular programming ASAP with more clear updates. Until then, thanks for sticking with me. Here’s what’s in my trash lately – because that’s “valuable content.” Ha! But really, I hope hearing thoughts of what’s worth using up versus pitching prematurely is helpful next time you’re due for a re-stock. 😉 Here are the 20+ latest products to bite the dust…(See past beauty empties here!)

BEAUTY EMPTIES, Vol. 9 - on Coming Up Roses

OGX COCONUT OIL MIRACLE SHAMPOO + CONDITIONER

I’ve always been a big OGX fan – I have a whole BUNCHA their products in my stash and have been using their stuff for years. I especially dig that their shampoos/conditioners are sulfate-free/color-safe and all that jazz. This duo was a delightfully tropical scent and hydrating formula.

LIVING PROOF PERFECT HAIR DAY ADVANCED CLEANING DRY SHAMPOO

Jury is honestly still out on whether or not this new formula trumps the tried n’ true for me. Speaking of…

LIVING PROOF PERFECT HAIR DAY DRY SHAMPOO

Guess who’s back (back back), back again – none other than the best dry shampoo on Planet Earth. A CUR Beauty Empties regular because I use it only slightly less than oxygen. Buy it now, thank me later. Really, both of Living Proof’s dry shampoos are fabulous. What I lovelovelove most about them (in no particular order): it doesn’t leave white cakey residue, it’s a gentle color-safe formula, it actually CLEANS your air (not just powder absorbing product and then also sticking to your hair).

DOVE INSTANT FOAMING SULFATE-FREE BODY WASH

I have another one in my shower now (in shea vanilla) and another one on deck in my extras stash, if that’s any indication of my feelings for this stuff. 😉 (And it’s a Beauty Empties regular, too!) It’s sulfate-free, so a really gentle formula for all skin types, and you LITERALLY get 200+ pumps from it…and one pump is enough for your whole body. So it goes a long way!

GLOW FOR A CAUSE BODY BUTTER in WISH

One of my FAVORITE body butters ever. In this scent in particular! It’s described as being “a magical blend of sparkling light florals, white tea, and bergamot grounded by light musks,” which just sounds as delightful as it smells. Formulated with coconut and jojoba oils and vitamin E, and is a vegan, paraben/phthalate/cruelty/gluten-free formula made in the USA.

I lovelovelove gifting this stuff to girlfriends since it’s from a small shop, too!

IT COSMETICS OIL-FREE MATTE CC+ CREAM WITH SPF 40

I’ve been a fan of IT Cosmetics’ CC cream for YEARS and *always* have tubes in various shades on hand (depending on the season!). It’s a fabulous full-coverage formula, and this one in particular is oil-free with a more matte finish. Whichever formula you grab, they also have SPF inside (bless). I typically can wear any shade from Light-Neutral Medium.

SECRET CLINICAL STRENGTH INVISIBLE SOLID DEODORANT/ANTIPERSPIRANT

My ride-or-die since the sixth grade. Secret knows some secrets, that’s for dang sure.

COLLEEN ROTHSCHILD AGE RENEWAL SUPER SERUM

Colleen does not know how to make bad skincare. This serum was a *solid* choice – it’s formultaed to fight six signs of aging: texture, dehydration, elasticity, fine lines, radiance, and tone. It’s got peptides, collagen boosters, amino acides, vitamins, and plant extracts inside, as well as her exclusive Level E3 technology to help optimize ingredients’ power. I would definitely repurchase.

My Colleen Rothschild discount code is still ERICA20 to save some bucks!

L’OREAL AIR VOLUME MEGA MASCARA

Thought it was good, not necessarily great. A bit forgettable, because I can’t even remember more feelings on it to share. Ha! This $5 mascara is what I’m currently using (+ loving).

COVERGIRL LID LOCKUP EYELID PRIMER

No complaints on this eyelid primer, BUT this drugstore one is just as good (if not better) and $5 cheaper.

BATH & BODY WORKS JAPANESE CHERRY BLOSSOM HAND SANITIZER

While I don’t really use other B&B Works body products anymore since they’re not exactly the “cleanest” formulas, I finished up this hand sani no problem.

TULA AQUA INFUSION OIL-FREE GEL CREAM

No complaints on this Tula moisturizer either, BUT I’ve been most recently using their newest antioxidant moisturizer launch and lovelovelove. It’s got Vitamin C added inside, so it’s more of a multitasking product, and the Vitamin C helps combat dark spots + dullness. (Tula code is always COMINGUPROSES). Otherwise, the Aqua Infusion is a total GEL-like moisturizer and has loads of good superfood ingredients.

KLORANE DRY SHAMPOO WITH OAT MILK

This actually does a decent job as a dry shampoo, buuuuuut it ends up being slightly more expensive than Living Proof’s if you compare sizes proportionately. It does brush out well with no leftover residue, and it’s a gentle formula with plant-based ingredients. Also adds a bit of volume/texture. I’ve had quite a few bottles at this point – would use again!

TULA SO PUMPKIN EXFOLIATING SUGAR SCRUB

Tula’s sugar scrubs are my FAVE – the sugar dissolves beautifully as you scrub, so it feels near-impossible to OVERscrub your face and you’re left with a much more gentle exfoliation. If you’re not feeling pumpking this time of year, the original scent is totally tropical. (code: COMINGUPROSES)

LANCOME PREP & MATTE MAKEUP PRIMER

Did NOT like this stuff. Didn’t even finish it. I felt like my makeup slid right off with it, and especially given the price point, I’d say HARD pass.

MAC PREP + PRIME SKIN BASE VISAGE

Definitely better than the former in that I actually *finished* it, but still not my favorite on price point. There are just so many good drugstore makeup primers, you do not need to drop $30+ on one!

OLAY REGENERIST WHIP WITH SPF 40

Another one bites the dust…will always be an empty, always be a favorite. (Blogged it in depth here!) HIGHLY recommend for an affordable daytime moisturizer with SPF! I believe code ERICALIGENZA will still get ya $5 off $50 on olay.com if you’re hauling new skincare!

IT COSMETICS JE NE SAID QUOIS LIP SERUM

A decent lip serum (that I think changes color a bit to “adjust” to your own “perfect pink”), but I prefer Juicy Lips and Tula’s lip treatment, and both are priced better, too.

MAC CONCEALER

Decent concealer, but at about the same price point as Shape Tape, I’d grab Shape Tape for a bit of a fuller coverage concealer and an easier application given the wand.

OPI NAIL ENVY NAIL STRENGTHENER

LoveloveLOVE this stuff to help strengthen my natural nails between gel manicures. It works noticeably well and I’ll definitely be repurchasing!
