***I had been working on this post for about a week before realizing that I hadn’t included any Black-owned small shops in this collection – which was unintentional but obviously problematic. In the hopes of remedying this, I first published a collection of ten *solely* Black-owned businesses to highlight some really cool work + pieces that are currently in my cart and en route to my doorstep, so pleasepleaseplease support some Black small shops!
Time are tough – but we are tougher. I’ve obviously shared small shops before and will always do so, since I’m a HUGE believe in the power of us helping each other out. I lovelovelove using any semblance of “influence” I may have to help support the hopes + dreams of badass small businesswoman, so if I buy something from a small shop and it’s a hit, you can bet your bottom dollah I’ll letcha know about it.
Especially with how the past few months have gone down, obviously small shops especially were some of the hardest hit with the economic ramifications of everything. SO, in the hopes of sharing the lovelovelove and giving a little *boost* in orders to some kind, hardworking chicas who appreciate our support + business oh so much, I’ve rounded up some of my personal favorite small shops to support right about now. If you’re looking to pull a treat yo’self or just throw some support to small shops in this time, I stan any of these. 🙂
P.S. If any of the small shops passed along a CURowd-exclusive discount code for you girls to save a few bucks on your purchase, I have that noted + included at the end of each little blurb! #TreatYoSelf
Typeleague Press – Creator of my favorite personalized face mugs, as well as some generally funny/punny mugs. Every year for Christmas I get a sortof “themed” mug for as many family members as I can, and this year, I bought them all from Typeleague Press! Everyone got an “Olivia’s _____” mug with their respective role in her life on it, and it was a HIT. She does them for pets, too! (HIGHLY recommend for Father’s Day coming up — it’s Jamie’s + my Dad’s favorite mugs!)
Circle and Square Decor – The CURowd all loveloveloved this acryclic family calendar the second I shared it to my Instastories this week – and I 100% see why. 😉 When I first saw it on Instagram myself I freaked the freak out and ordered one for us because it’s just SO DANG COOL! I knew I wanted/needed some sort of calendar system for our family since we function better with paper/non-digital calendar organization, but this one doesn’t feel as “office-y” as a traditional 12-month paper calendar. It’s chic + sleek and is like a little statement piece of its own while still being functional, which I lovelovelove.
Allie & Bess – These heavy gold/neon beaded bracelets are SO pretty + chic and especially on-trend for summer since they’re just so BRIGHT! They also have kids’ ones which make such cute gifts for little girls; Liv has two and just about lost her mind saying “WOWWWW!” when I gave them to her. (ERICA20 for 20% off!)
Glow for a Cause – I discovered this small shop YEARS ago on a whim and somehow got a sample of their Wish body butter, which quickly became – I kid you not – my favorite body butter of all time. What’s cool about this shop is that portions of proceeds all go to good causes, which are listed on their About page! I’ve featured them in my Gifts that Give Back guide for the holidays as well as in Cool Sh*t I Lovelovelove; just recently tried a new-to-me scent, Dream, and J was legit following me around the house going, “You smell so gooooood!” Ha!
Pink Lily Boutique – Another fave boutique with lots of bright colors + fun separates at pretty affordable price points. (ERICA15 for 15% off)
Indy’s Charm candles – Little hand-poured soy candle shop started by a girl I went to high school with and her mama! I just got my first order in and they all smell AMAZING (I got Pumpkin Souffle, Warm Caramel Vanille, and Lavendar Sage Rosemary!)
Chapters of Life LLC – This is our customized family bookstack – makes a GREAT addition to any bookshelf and a great gift, especially if/when a new family member is added! You can get a pet name added, too, with a little pawprint next to it – it’s so cute. (ERICA10 for 10% off)
Sweetmint Handmade Mugs – One of my longtime favorite mug companies – TWO years ago everyone got a Sweetmint mug from me for Christmas. 😉 They’re clever, funny, oftentimes punny mugs, and Chloe’s also got GREAT seasonal lines that she’s basically famous for (specifically for fall + the holidays!). Get the biggest size – they’re the best! (INSTA15 for 15% off)
Greenmarket Purveying – Their Sparkling Citrus candle smells suuuuper similar to the ultra-popular Volcano candle (aka what Anthropologie’s smell like inside – ha!). I was just introduced to this small shop recently and so far, so good! Through the end of this month, they’re donating 10% of proceeds to Direct Relief, so that’s an added cool reason to place an order to support.
Red Dress Boutique – One of my all-time favorite boutiques! Their stuff sells out FAST, so if you see something you lovelovelove – TREAT YO’SELF. Anytime I go browsing I black out and $250 leaves my bank account. HA. But seriously – SO much to lovelovelove there, at reasonable prices. Also a great place to look if you want/need something more unique for a special event, too!
The Sis Kiss – The two dainty name necklaces I wear most often are from this small shop! Namely (pun intended), my OLIVIA letter necklace and my tinier Erica necklace. These make GREAT gifts, be it for your girlfriends, bridesmaids, for a baby shower with the baby’s name on it like mine, etc. And I wear mine every single day and they’ve held up perfectly for nearly two years already. (ERICA15 for 15% off)
Sipping Pretty Sheilas – This small shop made my reusable Starbucks cups with the cute decals. Here’s my cheetah print cup + Olivia’s Mama cup – another cute gift idea for a mama-to-be, or the mom on-the-go!
My Sister’s Closet Boutique – One of my best friends, Chelsie, is the social media manager for this cute little Utah-based boutique – she totally kills it and I’m so proud of her! They specialize in more modest fashion and everything’s at a really affordable price point. (ERICA10 for 10% off)
Artifact – Meg, this small shop owner based in St. Louis, truly blows my mind with her talent. She does embroidery and came highly recommended by my best friend when I was on the hunt for some sort of memorial artwork for our two rescue cats who passed away last December, Moose and Pumpkin. I sent her some photos of them and was hoping she could do a little embroidery of each and HOLY MOLY. I cried when I opened the mail. They’re SO spot on it’s like looking at a photo – but she hand stitches every single piece herself!
Taylor Wolfe Shop – My friend Taylor and I have been connected through Instagram for YEARS now – she’s absolutely mindblowing with both her t-shirt shop savvy AND her comedy skills. I’ve got my eye on some tie-dye + the Moira Rose tank from Schitt’s Creek – OBSESSED.
The Callaway Collection – I have a few beaded bracelet stacks from Mary Hollis’ small shop and they’re SO cute – reminds me of friendship bracelets that were popular in the 90’s! She has a huge heart for giving back, too, and also does custom work. I have my eye on some mommy-and-me stuff for the OG and I!
