LOOK FOR LESS: Free People Hot Shot Onesie Dupe

If there’s one thing I’m all about, it’s a good jumpsuit. That, and a good look-for-less, and we’re here for the party. Ever since I first tried the Free People Hot Shot Onesie on in-store, I was sold (and I didn’t think I would be). At first, I thought I’d just look like a moon man. Or maybe a wrestler? Either way, wasn’t sold on the vibe. And then I tried it on. Man oh man, it’s true what they say – it’s beyond comfortable. If you like looking on trend while feeling like you’re in pajamas, this is the jumpsuit for you. BUT, it’s not the cheapest jumpsuit on the block. So today, we’ve got the look for less – a Free People Hot Shot Onesie DUPE (+ the real deal, of course).

Right off the bat, I’ve gotta say – I lovelovelove me the real deal. It’s $70, but I think it’s worth every penny. (And apparently so do 1,000+ other folks since it’s got so many 5-star ratings!). I actually have in my cart as we speak! It’s surprisingly seasonally versatile, which I wholeheartedly appreciate; fabulous in warmer weather over a sports bra or cropped tank, but also layerable with a long sleeve tee (which I’m literally wearing tomorrow on a flight to Utah, where it’s apparently still snowing – ha!). My bestie Chelsie and I grabbed them while shopping together, and we’re different sizes + heights but were both immediately obsessed.

In general with EITHER jumpsuit – both the Free People Hot Shot Onesie and this Amazon alternative – they’re bump friendly. Obviously v important to me right about now. 😉 But especially since I’ve been trying to not buy a new maternity wardrobe, bump friendly pieces have been key and these have been my go-to.

For sizing for the Free People option specifically, I recommend sizing DOWN one – I wear an XS in the Hot Shot Onesie and there’s still pleeeeenty of room (+ adjustable straps!).

I found an even better Amazon alternative! This one I like MORE than the original Amazon jumpsuit below, so I’m hopping in to share first + foremost so that you can grab whichever speaks to your soul. 😉 It’s just a bit more similar to the fit of the actual Hot Shot Onesie, so if I had to play favorites between looks for less, I’d choose this one. I still personally preference the actual Free People jumpsuit, but again, if you wanna save a few bucks and don’t mind the slight look differences of the Amazon options – here ya go!

Alright, back to regularly scheduled programming…the other Free People Hot Shot Onesie dupe option!

This Amazon jumpsuit is only about $35 – so, half the price of the Free People Hot Shot Onesie. BUT right off the bat, I do personally prefer the Free People version. I’m not sure exactly what it is, but the top of the Hot Shot Onesie feels cut better or just a bit more flattering? When I put the Amazon jumpsuit on, I get a HINT of Hulk Hogan wrestler vibes. I don’t get that same feeling with the Free People. Maybe it’s all in my head, maybe sizing up one in the Amazon jumpsuit would solve this particular first world problem. 😉 I stayed TTS (versus sizing down in the Free People). Either way, if you’re just gunning for the look and want to spend less to get it, it’ll do the trick. Here I snapped two quick iPhone shots on random days while wearing it so that you can see how it lays with versus without a baby bump. (I was still pregnant in the second shot, just in my first trimester and not “popped” yet!).

You’ll see the pant legs are cuffable, too, like the Free People Hot Shot Onesie – and at this point, I have two more of the Amazon alternative in both black and teal, with one of the newly released romper versions with shorts en route to my doorstep now. 🙂
