How was your Easter??? I hope it was a happy, holy one. 🙂 Today I’m so stoked to bring you a fresh, glowy spring face today with my friends at Physicians Formula. Every time spring rolls around, I (along with everyone else and their mom) get a strong urge to purge + spring clean like there’s no tomorrow. I’ve been throwing out makeup products left and right (here’s when to throw out different products based on their shelf life, if ya need the reminder!), and I’ve been defaulting to cleaner, lighter, glowier makeup looks. They recently launched a few new goodies that are seriously coming up roses, so you know I HAD to share. 😉 Introducing, the Rosé All Day line from Physicians Formula! Yes, rosé is a delish, summery drink and not a flower, but it’s punny and there are roses on the outside AND inside of the products, so we’re goin’ with it.
Another tutorial to come on my “5-minute mom glow” that’s been a hot request from Instagram. But today comes pretty darn close to that! I used some goodies from the Physicians Formula Rosé All Day line for a glow that lasts all day, really working that goodness from the inside-out. That’s always something I’ve loveloveloved about Physicians Formula products; the line was created by an actual doctor in 1937, because he wanted to formulate products that wouldn’t negatively affect his wife’s sensitive skin. So they were literally the FIRST hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, dermatologist-tested makeup brand, free of over 150+ known skin irritants. Isn’t that wild?!
First up:
This stuff is wild, yo. At first, I was nervous since it does have some oil in it. But oily girls, hear me out! You know I’ve oily skin myself for the history of ever. I used to be the *last* girl on the block to tell you to put oil ON YOUR FACE when you’ve already got enough of that coming from your pores. But. Didja know that oily skin could actually just be your body’s way of telling you it’s dehydrated???
is an oil AND water elixir, so it feels so cool on your skin since it’s lighter than any other “oil.” It’s eant to hydrate, prime AND prep skin, so you can wear it by itself as a treatment, mixed into your moisturizer, or underneath your foundation (which I’m doing here).
Ingredients include rose water + rosehip oil, antioxidant-rich goji and kakadu plum (which, fun fact, is the richest vitamin C source of any fruit!), + other tightening agents to help with wrinkles while we’re at it (bless). It’s formulated to help dehydrated, dry, sensitive skin, and to be a combatant against free radial damage, dullness, + wrinkles. Because ain’t nobody got time!
Le Velvet Foundation with SPF 15
Super easy-to-apply foundation that’s actually pretty full coverage! I apply with my damp beauty blender, and a little bit goes a long way.
I will say, I’m reaaaaally hoping that they expand the shade range in this line, since it’s so small right now. I lovelovelove the formula and it applies so nicely, so it’s a great option for summer if your skin tone is matched.
The cult classic – a staple in every girl’s makeup bag! All of Physicians Formula’s “Butter” products have the Murumuru Butter from the Amazon inside, which is to blame for the insane creaminess of the line! This bronzer is unique since it’s basically the perfect in-between of a powder and cream bronzer.
It’s a three-butter-blend of Murumuru, Cupuaçu + Tucuma Butters, which is loaded with essential fatty acides and pro-vitamins. They each work to soften, condition, + moisturizer your skin, so it’s like having skincare IN your makeup (which should be an essential at this point, folks). Besides all that goodness, it smells like straight up coconuts. Immediately transports you to the beach. Or as close as your vanity can get to one. 😉
I used to apply my contour, which worked SO well in getting a clean contour that I can then easily blend out with my beauty blender. 100% recommend. Start from your ear and trace a line towards the corner of your lip to get the perfect contour line!
Same situation as the Butter Bronzer, but for blush! I used Vintage Rouge here. Cool to point out here: everything is hypoallergenic, paraben-free, gluten-free, dematologist-tested, cruelty-free, + oil-free.
I like to apply my blush from the apples of my cheeks upwards, tracing right above where my contour was. Blend as you go so that you don’t end up with a bunch of lines on your face – ha!
Physicians Formula’s Butter Highlighter is a winner winner chicken dinner – it’s SUCH a creamy, pigmented highlight. Just make sure to blend it out so that you don’t have a highlight line. 😉 Fun fact: It has ultra-refined pearls inside!
Also packed with the same three-butter-blend as the other Butter products, so it feels fabulous on your skin.
Specifically, in Flamingo Pink. We talked allllll about the launch of the Butter Lippies here, but ICYMI: they’re totally fabulous. This has been my go-to lip formula for *months* now, in every shade. I think I’ve gone through the entire line at this point?
They’re the softest, creamiest lipsticks on the planet. I actually don’t even think I can call them a “lipstick” since lip cream is just so much more fitting. They contain the three-butter blend as the other Butter products (Murumuru, Cupuaçu, + Tucuma Butters), again with those essential fatty acids and pro-vitamins. Bonus points for also having SPF 15!
Rosé All Day Illuminating Setting Spray
You probably know by now my *obsession* with facial sprays + mists. And if you don’t, I currently have 11 on my desk for something upcoming. 😉 So now you know! But I especially lovelovelove sprays that are multi-purposed. This bad boy is one such spray! It’s key ingredients are right in line with the rest of the Rosé All Day line: brightening kakadu plum, calming rose water, goji for antioxidant protection, etc. But then it’s also got a tightening peptide blend inside to help out with pores!
Important: It’s oil-free AND alcohol-free (not all sprays are, especially when it comes to setting sprays!).
The ONLY place I could find this online is through the brand directly, so shop straight through them (linked above for ya to pick it up fastest.
Had to throw in an extra here justbecause that’s how we do! 😉 This is NOT something I use or used in conjunction with my makeup here. But, it’s worth mentioning since it’s a fabulous member of the Rosé All Day skincare family and worth picking up, especially if you’re on the drier side, or have maturing skin! I’ve been testing using this at nighttime as the last step in my routine before bed.
It’s also got kakadu plum for brightening and rose water for calming, but in addition, it has Sea Mayweed inside, which is supposed to be wrinkle-relaxing – like a natural alternative to fillers. BLESS UP.
This stuff is definitely RICH, but it doesn’t leave you feel greasy, which is incredible since I feel like that’s really rare! A little bit goes a long way – I actually ended up putting it on my hands + arms before bed, too, since it’s just that fabulous-feeling and I figured anti-aging products there are good since your hands are one of the first places to show age!
Have you tried the Physicians Formula Rosé All Day line yet?
If you have, I wanna know! Are any of the other above Physicians Formula products in your makeup bag yet? I sure as heck hope at LEAST a Butter Bronzer has been, and if you haven’t already, a Butter Lip Cream. It’s time to treat yo’self, girlfriend! 😉
