5 Skincare Products I’ve Tried Lately (+ loveloveLOVED)

As a blog reader, I often myself clicking the second I see someone share a few recent favorites or newer finds that became quick hits. Something about it just feels real and raw, like we’re BFFs chatting on FaceTime or over coffee on the latest + greatest…and I’m nosy AF and here for it. As I found myself collecting gems on my vanity counter, I figured it was high time I share the scoop here with you, my internet BFFs. 😉 These are just a few – specifically, five – skincar products that I’ve tried lately and loveloveloved…so much so that I just HAD to blog about it.

5 SKINCARE PRODUCTS I've tried lately + loveloveLOVED (on Coming Up Roses)

Kiehl’s Ferulic Brew Rejuvenating Facial Essence

As seen in Cool Sh*t I Lovelovelove! I tried this stuff from a PR package a few months back and wasn’t quite sure what to expect since I was newer to the world of facial essences. They were apparently quite beneficial for helping products absorb better for maximum impact, so I figured I’d give it a go. Turns out, this one in particular comes VERY highly rated.

It’s a 99% natural formula with ferulic acid, lactic acid, + squalane that works to smooth and even your skin’s texture and tone, reduce fine lines, provide antioxidant protection, and leave you glowing. No parabens, sulfates, mineral oils, etc – but what might be most impressive are their clinical test results. In a consumer study of 60 subjects:

  • 92% agree skin looks hydrated
  • 92% agree skin looks rejuvenated
  • 90% agree skin felt smoother
  • 88% agree skin texture looks refined
  • 87% agree skin looks healthier
  • 85% agree skin looks more even toned

I’ve been using it for maybe two months now and my bottle still looks barely touched, so a little bit goes a long way (bless) – and it’s really making a noticeable difference on my complexion.

Tula 24/7 Power Swipe Hydrating Day/Night Treatment Eye Balm

ICYMI – I really really really lovelovelove this stuff. So much so that this Tula eye balm got its own blog post (say whaaaat!). I’ll save my spiel since I spilled the tea and then some on that post, but long story short: it is so very good. Great, really. It’s like the twin sister to Tula’s bestselling, fan-favorite 24/7 Hydrating Day/Night Cream – which is one of my favorite moisturizers ever. It’s got SO many good ingredients inside, from hydrating hyaluronic acid and squalane to firming caffeine, apple, watermelon – heck, it’s even got cocoa seed extract to protect against blue light damage, which Lord knows your eyes see a lot.

For me, this stuff takes the cake because it’s one of the only undereye treatment products that actually feels GOOD on my eye area and doesn’t cause burning or stinging. My undereye skin is apparently quite sensitive, and so much causes a reaction. This stuff doesn’t! It’s also ridiculously easy + clean to apply in the handy dandy stick, and a little bit goes a long way.

As always, code COMINGUPROSES will take 15% off your entire Tula order!

Boscia Rosewater Mist with Witch Hazel

I found this stuff on a whim on Zulily and gave it a go, since word on the skincare street is that rosewater can help reduce redness. I’m a BIG face mist girl (there are currently 4 on my desk…don’t judge 😉 ). This one caught my eye because it’s pink.

…just kidding. 😉 It’s actually a toning mist, but alcohol-free – so it’s formulated to be more hydrating while simultaneously absorbing excess oil, tightening your pores, and soothing all around.

It smells fabulous + fresh, and it just leaves my skin feeling healthier and glowier.

Colleen Rothschild Glycolic Acid Peel Pads with Blue Agave

If you lovelovelove a trip to the spa but hate the price tag – get you these glycolic pads. First off, like everything that Colleen’s name is on, it’s a powerful product. But beyond that, these peel pads actually say “spa-strength treatment” ON them because they’re literally formulated to work comparably to an expensive chemical peel or exfoliating treatment that you may spend anywhere from $100-$600+ to get. The pads come in a tub of 60, and while they are safe for daily use, I use them about 3x/week.

What I like so much about these is that they get the job done without destroying your face in the process. HA. Sounds violent, but really, I feel like chemical peels at a med spa can be hit or miss…maybe you’ll come out feeling fresh, maybe you’ll look like you were attacked by a pack of tomatoes. I’ve also heard horror stories about chemical BURNS after treatments that sometimes, it just ain’t worth the risk or potential downtime. These peel pads have glycolic + lactic acids (two of my faves!) to help dissolve skin-clogging dirt, debris, sebum, etc, while also helping target fine lines, hyperpigmentation, AND general “imperfections” to kickstart your skin’s natural renewal process. You really end up feeling fresher, brighter, and more even toned while getting a light manual exfoliation, too, from the pad itself.

They’re ALSO formulated with blue agave, sea water, and other extracts to be soothing + calming, and they’ve got hyaluronic acid and niacinamide for hydration and protection. This is EXTRA great because you’re not just stripping or exfoliating your skin, but adding goodness back IN simultaneously, which I am all about (and which most med spa peels would not do!).

$100 for one chemical peel…or $75 for 60…you do the math. 😉

OH AND my code should still get you 20% off! If you use ERICA20 at checkout, get a tub of 60 for only $60 instead…$1 a facial! You literally cannot beat that, my friend.

Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Skin Perfecting Liquid Exfoliant

Another winner winner chicken dinner in the radiance department – you’ll be GLOWING by the time you’re done with this stuff! You’ll notice my bottle looks a bit different…that is because this is, in fact, NOT a new favorite. I stocked up forever ago when I first fell in love with it, then forgot about it for a hot sec while trying other products in my collection – then RE-found it when I went to restock on chemical exfoliants and am head over heels again.

This stuff has nearly a 5-star rating after receiving over FORTY TWO THOUSAND reviews on Amazon, so if that doesn’t say something I don’t know what does. It’s a non-abrasive leave-on exfoliator, meaning you just dab some onto a cotton pad and apply as a treatment after cleansing and toning, before serum and moisturizer. It’s got 2% BHA, or beta hydroxy acid, to unclog and diminish enlarged pores, exfoliate dead skin cells, smooth wrinkles, and brighten + even out skin tone. ALSO works to combat redness AND blackheads. I mean, is there anything it DOESN’T do?!

It’s formulated to be gentler, so you’re getting that great exfoliation without any abrasian that some scrubs cause – another gem for that skin cell turnover that helps everything from dryness or dullness to signs of aging or hyperpigmentation!
