Cool Sh*t I Lovelovelove – Monthly Favorites, March 2019

WOW FRIDAY, you’re right on time. This week has been a whirlwind for a whole buncha reasons – namely because (TMI AHEAD), it’s my time of the month, which I’m still getting used to having since it’s only my second post-pumping/breastfeeding. Hormones ain’t no joke, yo! It’s been a rougher week (slash month) over here emotionally + behind-the-scenes, so I’m taking some more active measures to really be the captain of my ship, so to speak.

One way to get started on that STAT is by actively practicing gratitude + filling your days with favorite things – like today. Who’s ready for some Cool Sh*t I Lovelovelove?!?! (This girl).

Cool Sh*t I Lovelovelove - Monthly Favorites time on Coming Up Roses! Featuring Red Dress Boutique, Popcorners, a new product from Tula, a Revlon hair tool that's a total gamechanger, Dr. Scholl's sneakers, a color-changing lip balm + MORE.

1.)

In my last Reader Survey, something that came up quite a bit was a request for more boutique recommendations, and other places to shop cute, more unique styles that won’t break the bank. Granted, not all boutiques are created equal – there are definitely some out there that have an insanely massive markup, and the same pieces can be scoped out on Amazon for 1/3 the price (seriously).

Red Dress Boutique is one of my favorites that I’ve found so far! (I’m not working with them at all, but I sure as heck hope to!) New arrivals come in daily, and everything is just SO. STINKING. ME. From flowy dress and fun shorts to total staples and everyday basics, they run the gamut and I’m here for it.

I bought + these from Red Dress, and this look immediately became a spring favorite (I’ll be shooting it fully for y’all ASAP!). I sized up to a Medium in the bodysuit since I have a long torso, and am in Small pants!

2.) Kettle Corn Popcorners

J + I first tried Popcorners probably 4-5 years ago at this point, and it was lovelovelove at first bite. We were quickly *hooked* on the Jalapeno Cheddar flavor (which isn’t even a thing anymore, that’s how long ago it was!) and would down a bag together in one movie night (whoops).

The Kettle Corn flavor in particular has been frequenting our grocery cart as of late. It takes juuuuuust like real kettle corn, without all of the sugar or calories! We’re big big big Popcorners people regardless of flavor, so if Kettle Corn ain’t your jam, I don’t think there’s any “bad” flavor to try!

3.) Netflix’s Documentary: Tony Robbins: I Am Not Your Guru

I’d heard of him (who hasn’t?), but I hadn’t actually watched too much of his content, so I wasn’t familiar with his “style,” so to speak. One Saturday morning, I thought WHAT THE HECK and gave his Netflix special a go. And y’all…I ended up feeling SO dang fired up with tears running down my face by the end, wanting to be a motivational speaker myself. Ha!

The documentary is an inside look into one of Tony’s personal transformation weeks. These things are, like, 7 grand to attend, but folks come away with totally changed lives. It was so fascinating to me to see how someone like Tony approaches events like that, where people travel from all over the world to be transformed. No pressure or anything. 😉

Fair warning: Tony does drop F bombs. So don’t watch with the kiddos in the room. 😉

4.)

This stuff has been THE talked-about beauty product this month, and for good reason! I shared alllllllll about it last week when we chatted about how to cover dark circles, so definitely give that post a read-through if you’ve got undereye circles you’re looking to lighten + brighten and all that jazz. (I share my own full preventative + coverage routine with products, techniques, + makeup, too, so I hope it’s helpful!). This is Tula’s fastest sold-out product EVER; it’s formulated to cool, hydrate, + brighten simultaneously and can be applied under OR over makeup (I personally do under!). It’s got probiotics inside like all Tula products, as well as hyaluronic acid, apple, aloe vera, watermelon, blueberry, + caffeine! And none of the bad stuff (parabens, phalates, sodium lauryl sulfate, etc).

Fair warning: It can get a bit addicting to do a few swipes back-and-forth. 😉 It’s regularly priced at $28, and my Tula discount code brings it to $22.40. (My code is COMINGUPROSES for 20% off all Tula products, because I lovelovelove them!!!).

Also wanted to quickly highlight their if you know you want the eye balm, since it has that + the Purifying Cleanser (my fave!), as well as the Aqua Infusion Oil-Free Gel Cream (a great moisturizer, especially for us oilier-skin girls!). It’s a $104 value, but on sale currently, and my code brings all the way down to $67.20. Which is a great deal for all of those full-size products!

P.S. Giving away 25 Tula cleansers in honor of my 25th birthday over on Instagram right now… 😉

5.) Dr. Scholl’s sneakers

The second I put these bad boys on my feet, I knew I wouldn’t be taking them off all season. Dr. Scholl’s has seriously upped their style game – how friggin’ cute are these?!?! They’re perfect little ivory kicks, and they’re as comfortable as you’d think Dr. Scholl’s would be. I’ve been wearing them nonstop for running around, and they don’t rub or ache anywhere – they just provide great support always. I’ve been calling these “Disney World shoes” since they’re EXACTLY the kinda kick you want/need to survive a trip to Disney!!

Been lowkey wearing them everywhere (here, here, + here!). 100% recommend!

6.)

Alright alright alriiiiiiiiight, I fell for it. I fell for the hype around this Revlon product. And I’m SO GLAD I did! Everyone and their mom was raving about how the Revlon One-step Dryer + Volumizer was a legitimate solution to combining the hair drying + styling process, in less than 10 minutes flat. I didn’t believe it.

And then I tried it.

Specifically, I tried it with you guys along for the ride on my Instastories, and we tested it in real time together. …wasn’t it cool?!?!?! It legitimately dried + smoothed out my wet (straight-from-the-shower-wet) hair as if I had gotten a blow-out at Drybar. I was impressed, too, since it’s sooooo much less damaging to your hair than using a blow dryer AND a styling tool after that. It’s got both cool and hot settings, so you can work with whatever temp works + feels best for your hair type. Really worthwhile to try, especially for under $60! And when I shared it, I had SO MANY OF YOU reaching out saying you also swear by it – I think only 3 people said they weren’t fans for one reason or another.

I typically first apply a balm or serum to my wet hair for healing/strengthening/smoothing, spritz a light heat protectant, and then use the tool. Once I’m done, I use one pump , rub it between my palms, and then lightly run that through for all-day smoothness. No more running to church with a wet head for me – ha!

7.) Milk frother

This little thingermabobber is also as seen on Stories! (We do fun things over there – tune in to join the party! 🙂 ). I first learned about it from my friend Shelbi, and I immediately added it to my Amazon cart. It’s on Prime for under $10, so…#TreatYoSelf. The whole gist: It froths your milk/creamer for at-home lattes! SUPER easy, battery operated, and makes a real difference when you just need that afternoon pickmeup and can’t get to the coffee shop (or, heck, wanna save a few bucks by making it yourself!).

Also makes a great giftable for any girlfriends (or anyone period!) in your life who lovelovelove their coffee fix!

8.)

ANother find courtesy of my online girlfriends – ha! I think my girl Madi mentioned them first, but then they BLEW UP online since everyone was buying + falling in loveloveloooooove. These things are so stinkin’ SOFT, so there is literally not a soul on this green earth sans Lucifer himself who wouldn’t adore them. I mean, you cannot go wrong with a good pair of squishy soft jogger pants! I’m such a fan since they work for lounging around at home with the hubs + baby, but also work if I need to throw on Nikes and run to the grocery store for an essentials run: Coffeemate, pepperoni, + cheese. 😉 Ha!

Also reaaaaally fabulous news is they’re ON SALE!!!!!!! Easy peasy 25 bucks, and you won’t take ’em off. Plus they come in 4 other colors!

9.)

I received this little glimmer balm in PR awhile back and didn’t think much of it, especially since it just looked like a shimmery translucent lipstick. And then I started testing it. And HOLY MOLY, my mind was actually blown. What I didn’t realize at first is that the balm is formulated to work with your body’s natural pH + temperature to become the perfect pink stain for your own lips! How freaking cool is that?!?!? Feels really hydrating on, and has juuuuust enough shimmer in it to look shiny without being glittery.

It also smells like a really yummy vanilla cupcake, so that’s important. 😉 FYI, it’s online only!

10.)

I had wanted a clear coffee mug for the *longest* time, and then my sweet friend Bethany of sent one over and I freaked out! I mean…how many times a day do we all need to here this? MANY.

It’s also just made really sturdily – another great giftable (pair with the milk frother for one helluvah combo!).

Bethany was kind enough to pass along a discount code for you guys specifically if you spot anything you lovelovelove from her little shop, so just drop code ERICA15 at checkout for that!
